If they let the domain expire then I would be really surprised. Most companies wouldn't just get rid of their product domains even if the product has been discontinued.

One thing is for sure, if Ubi does let the domain expire, we can just get rid of all our hopes of there ever being a BG&E 2.

Technically the domain means nothing, the the website and stuff is on the webspace of ubisoft could maybe be accessed through a sub-domain of ubi.com
But the domain always has this simbolic meaning. If the domain dies, an important part of the website dies. It's strange that Ubi's letting the domain expire, since domains a really cheap, especially for a big company such as ubi.

R.I.P. irisnetwork.net One of my favorite memories of playing through BGE my first time was hearing the radio news report at the beginning, and then visiting the sites mentioned on the radio. I was so psyched once I realized that every last one of the sites were real... and they were created to look legitimatly from the times of the game! It's quite unfortunate that this cool feature is now lost. It pains me to see the link crossed out in your sig, Bitebug. Lets hope that the rest of them stay up.. at least for a little while longer.

We're not out of the woods yet. Until they make a sequal, they could still shut this all down and all our hopes of a sequal are up in smoke.

The expiration date on the domain hasn't changed, so Ubisoft didn't hear us yet. I don't think we actually asked them to keep the domains either, it's not like they'll read this thread.

I've played every title out there. IMHO this is an incredibly fun & esciting game that leaves you laughing after having a Blast! To good to pass up a sequel!

I don´t exactly know, but is it known, how the financial situation of UBI currently is? I remember there were rumours about EA wanting to buy UBI, although EA denied it (only a fool would trust EA ;D) so it doesen´t look very good for UBI, right?

Hillyannews.com seems to be down (URL redirects to ubi.com). Anyone knows what's in store for the BGE sites? Such as the Darkroom.
