Mm, not a bad idea - but just due to his look, Fehn might be a bad choice. "Come and play as the goat beast! Hero of our generation!" The problem with replacing Jade is that she was so great in this one that they'd need to do something equally butt-kicking a second time around. It's just easier to stick with Jade that way.

(I'd just gone and replayed the beginning to find out his name. Fehn it is, my bad. }Big Grin )

Wouldn't that be an interesting twist? The antichrist is here - better late than never! *sniggers* Nah. That very look is what makes me think he'd be nifty to work with. The world of BG&E is already a fantastic one (by which I mean, influenced by fantasy), with anthromorphs and straight homo sapiens living side by side. Why not let one of the anthros be a hero next time around? You lose the "female protagonist" vote, but you still avoid the straight young-male-human-hero cliche...

While I wouldn't mind the Jade personality, not at all, the Jade identity is problematic to work with at this point. I mean, she's all hovering around and making people fly through the air - and she just finished whupping *** of the biggest alien around. How do you one-up on that? How do you continue without making her some sort of Dragonball character facing Dragonball foes? Moving on to a new identity let us start fresh, without the additional burden of trying to reconcile the challenges of the original story. Maybe Fehn isn't the best choice, that's just personal preference, but just sticking with Jade...?

I have only played this game for about 20 minutes and I am already impressed on how cool it looks and how much I like the overall enviroment. Great game...and I only payed 19.99....what a steal. So in short, make a sequel. It is truly a very artistic game and reminds me of one of the reasons why I play games. I recently got a job in the game industry and hope to make great games like this and Prince of Persia(absolutely awe inspiring). Catch you on the flip side.

Right out of the box, this game was one of the best I ever played. If Ubi doesn't make a sequel with the way they left the end of this one wide open, I will be seriously dissapointed. Even if the sales weren't that great, a lot of loose ends need to be tied up without all of the spectulations that have been going around. There needs to be some definate resolution here.

This is the best game I've ever played, I must thank my mate for letting me play 10 minutes of it. I'd have never gone and bought it for myself if he hadn't.

Anyway, if what I've been told about what was said and shown at E3, there will be a sequel coming out later this year. I can't wait. I was ultimatly miffed when the game ended (it took me 3 days to flush out the adrenaline rush from 'kicking eye' at the end, and two weeks on I'm still feeling the Withdrawel effect).

Now I'm off to play the game, again. I'm gonna really have a go at it this time.

Btw, if anyone from Ubi reads this notice, THE GAME WAS TOO SHORT!!! MAKE IT LONGER IN THE NEXT ONE, OR EVEN BETTER, BRING OUT A SEQUEL AND A MOD OR SOMETHING!!!

Exactly. Personally, I love how the game ended so ubruptly, it kept the adrenaline going. After I beat the final boss guy I was pretty much bouncing the walls and wanting to show everybody. I love this game. Please make a sequel, Ubisoft! Smile

Apparently GAME was quoting BG&E as a Sleeper hit...
They are still selling it here for £29,00 for PS2 and £20 for PC.

They even said the same about Prince of Persia: Sands Of Time.

Both games deserve a sequel - especially Beyond Good & Evil -
as we all know that regardless; You can be sure of another
Prince of Persia...

Yes.. Let's see another BG & E

Though in the past petittions haven't been known to have that much effect on wheather games get produced, we need to spread the word and get as much support as possible just in case UBI decides to take heed our request. I posted a link on the Gamespot forum asking for people to sign this petition. I think it would be a good idea if we don't just look within this forum for support, so if you would, please SPREAD THE WORD!! A game this good deserves all the attention it can get, and we all need to make sure that happens.

In the meantime lets keep our fingers crossed that someone will find something out as far as the development goes.

a sequel would be AWESOME. Ubisoft, you guys have put out amazing games lately: this, splinter cell, far cry should be awesome, prince of persia is amazing, you're doing matrix online and that looks great so far, and splinter cell 2 will be amazing as well i'm sure. DO A SEQUEL FOR THIS GREAT GAME!!! Beyond Good and Evil is wonderful beyond its press, and you guys could get a great fan base for a sequel with some better marketing. it was such a great game, but so short! give us more!!

I'm not really the type of person to follow up on sales and what not on games, but after hearing about how badly this is selling, it's become a mission to me to spread the word about this wonderful game. It truly is a masterpiece! I do hope that a sequel, or better yet the franchise continues! This game really captured my heart. I just completed it last night as a matter of fact. There are so many things left unanswered, great possibilites for the story to continue.

Hopefully this game will get an advertising campaign it truly deserves. It being such a great game, capturing the hearts of many gamers and critics alike, why not give it a chance another chance and redo the advertisment stragety on it? I never really saw any advertisements on tv for it besides the commercial a couple of times on G4TV. Maybe if it was advertised more often & everywhere like Splinter Cell was, it would have done more successfully.

Maybe the fact that it was released at a wrong time could also play a factor on sales. Not sure, but I just hope Ubi doesn't call this game a failure. If everyone who played this walked away with a huge smile wanting more, that's definetly not a failure but a huge success!

Beyond Good & Evil is what games are meant to be. Every person that I have talked to and has played this game had nothing but great things to say about it.

Spread the word people, it's up to us true BG&E Fans to let everyone know what a great game this is to try and raise sales. I definetly want to see this story continue!!

I WANT MORE BEYOND GOOD & EVIL!! Smile

Why not Yoa instead? I'm talking about the female child in the Shelter that has light-blue skin, knee-length hair, and is best described as Sadako's cute little sister.

She'd terrorize anyone at night.

I have written it already in another place an I write it again: sure there should be something new (and perhaps longer, but not necesarily: quality goes first), but there should be a PREQUEL.
About beginning of the war, about struggle and sacrifice of jade s parents, about her as a child, about younger Pey j, about escape to Hillys etc. It could even be extenden on more worlds. That would explain everything and besides: sequel would mean that Jade would act as some sort of goddes. That wouldn t be her anymore, would it?

K.K. (CR)

BG&E fans from the dark corners of the Gamespot forum are now coming forth. I posted a link to the "Petition for a sequel" post, but I don't know how many are actually going to sign it. It would be really good, especially now, to rally support from sources other than this forum. Also, as some of you may or may not know, I heard that new character models and environments have already been designed for the sequel. I'm not sure how reliable the source is, but it's still something to hold on to.

Just when i thought that KOTOR had the best story of this generation, BG&E came and blindsided me. Because of the excellent story and great characters it has now earned the place of Greatest Game of All Time in my book. There are only two games i have played that made me feel so strongly about the characters, FFVII and BG&E. The questions at the end definately need some closure. We need a sequel!!

I would just like to say the last time a game made such an impact on me it was dungeon master for the atari st.
It seems par for the course that a game as good as this doesnt sell well, look at system shock 2 and imperium galactica - amazing games but many people probably havent even heard of them. I would also like to thank the team who put this game together although made up of many borrowed elements e.g. zelda, metroid prime, metal gear solid, ico, it has been executed exceptionally well and i would rather play this than any of the last 4 games i just mentioned also the best artforms always borrow elements and make them seem fresh and new by breathing new life into them. the clearly french stylings and graphics are beautiful too. some of us appreciate quality and it shines through in this product. It would be a crime if we didnt see a sequel to this game but i for one am not holding my breath.

May contain Spoilers....

I think it's a real shame BG&E didn't 'do' as well as POP:SOT.

I was captivated when Jade said 'You gotta be joking!? -- Think! Think!'

And following that - the very first fight music and when it goes into slow motion.

I kinda knew BG&E would be most enjoyable.

I have nothing bad to say about it so far. I think together with POP:SOT. They are Classics - and I too would like to see a Sequel.

Hmm...

Unfortunately I do now, that messy slaughterhouse bug.
Although I didn't suffer (restart game ect) I find it lacks that the development team haven't spotted this glitch and done something about it.

At least acknowledge it or something?
Perhaps it has something to do with people installing the patch when they actually don't need to?

I don't know... I have it installed because I couldn't start the game initially.

Maybe the patch creates the bug?

Questions questions... but other than that?

Beyond Good & Evil rules and it would be a real shame if there wouldn't be a sequel.

Everything is so well designed (voice acting is brilliant which really adds something to the entire feel of the game)
Music - Love it!
Gameplay - Love it!

It's a gem - worth reprising in the form of a sequel/prequel.
