I have just finished this game the first thing I did was head for this forum to see if a sequel was planned.
After reading the several grim posts about 'poor sales' and several game stores discontuing their stock I was shocked. How could such a great game get so unnoticed?
Living in the UK I only just got this game after reading the review in my PC Gamer magazine. It seems a shame that most retailers have already started slashing the prices of this game such as 'Game' selling it for â£20 (where I bought it).
The music score as I have seen many of you agree upon is just superb, the storyline original (or as oringal as it gets) the graphics smooth, refreshing and the characters quirky and funny. I was put off buying this game when I saw the TV adverts running for it just seeing Jade snapping pictures I assumed that was all their was to it. How wrong was I once I started playing,
Never have I been in such a long time play a game so varied with third person martial art style combat, adventure, puzzle solving, hovercraft racing and even a short space combat! This game compels you to play it to the end and once you reach the end, the finishing cut scene begs you for more!
That is why I would like all the fans of this game to leave a post in this thread pleading with UBISOFT not to be disheartened by the current lack of sales, they may yet pick up since reviews for the game in the UK (and perhaps europe) are only just coming out and even if it doesn't sell aswell as expected please consider the people who did purchase it and make the sequel as the ending so hinted at one being produced!

Makes you wonder. Why DIDN'T it get the marketing it deserved?

Probably because they decided to throw all their marketing budget at Prince of Persia... I think this game would have sol much better if they did it like Splinter Cell. They should have released the xbox version in the summer, let all the xbox owners hype it up then release the rest during the holiday.

I don't think a petition will work, since most everyone here on this forum loves the game to begin with. It's pretty much a given, you know? Of course we're going to want a sequel. Especially on such a game that left so many questions unanswered in the end.

Ubisoft MUST make a sequal!!!!

Although I think that by the ending a sequal is implied but I will show my support in the desire of a full sequel.
More power to ya Ubi you seem to be on the right track.
Ya, the story was great... right up until the end when they throw a major plot twist into the works without answering it. That, and Pey'J's scene after the credits!
Story and gameplay were still great, no argument there. There'd best be a sequal to answer all that last minute stuff though! :P

Yes! We really need a sequel, because the end demands it. Please, Beyond Good & Evil is art and it should be finished.

I don't know, I'd like to see a petition to get THIS version patched properly...
A sequel would be interesting. I don't really appreciate the mystical turn BG&E took at the end - wonderful cinematics, but I honestly would've been happier if Pey'j hadn't survived and Jade hadn't started flying around and glowing. "Great power within you" indeed. They'll bring midichlorians into it next.
After all that rubbish, the best bet for a sequel would be to pull a "next generation" sort of thing... get a new character going, leaving Jade as either background or an NPC (e.g. Deus Ex 2). My vote - Venn, the goat kid. For having, like, zero lines, I thought he was one of the more interesting cameos. And it's been established right there in the beginning that he's been touched/consumed by the power of the Domz too. A few years down the road... who knows what effects it may have had? Who'll have to clean up after Uncle Pey'j with Jade busy orchestrating the second coming?
