I want to get Ico sooooo bad. Just a few more days until I move back to school, then I'll buy the game and finally try it out.

Hello. I registered so I could recommend some games. These are all for the PC. All are at least 5 years old so you can buy them very cheap.

Planescape: Torment - You awaken in a strange world, with no memories...not even your name. And you can't die...or rather, you can't STAY dead. Over the course of the game you must discover who you are and why you are immortal. Over the course of the game, you must choose sides: good vs. evil, order vs. chaos. The game can be completed however you choose to act. The most emotionally involving game I've ever play, and very very long...50+ hours.

Thief: The Dark Project & Thief: The Metal Age
Fallout 1 & 2 - This is the world's only true First Person SNEAKER. You play Garrett, master thief and a man neither good nor evil - just ruthless, clever, and selfish. It begins with petty theft but becomes something far greater. To win you must use stealth, not face-to-face combat - the deeper in the shadows you are, the lower you crouch, the slower and more carefully you move determines how difficult you are to detect. If you're good, you can sneak up on an enemy in a well-lit room with tile floors and knock him out without him ever knowing you were there. Utterly the best sneaky game ever made, and a wonderful storyline.

Fallout 1 & 2 - RPGs set in a post-nuclear-apocalpytic America, with a rich, fascinating and very cool world to explore, hundreds of quests to choose from, and allies to gather (over whom you have only partial control) ranging from mercenaries to robots to mutants. Between these two, if you were to do every quest possible, you're looking at HUNDREDS of hours of gameplay.

These are my favorite PC games of all time. The graphics won't impress anyone much, but the gameplay, interfaces, NPCs, music, weapons, and world settings are the best I've ever seen.

I really like the SSX series, i have all the games, and my fave is SSX3, and then followed by tricky. SSX on tour was very diisapointing to me. Other games that i dont have yet but that ican't wait to come out are Shadow of the Colossus. I'm will run straight to the store when that game comes out here Smile. I am also desperitly waiting for Dragon Quest VIII to come out here, if it ever will...and ofcourse BG&E2, i really hope there will be a sequal, like everybody else here, i think. Smile

Many of the games I would recommend are already mentioned in this thread, but there is one other that hasn't popped up yet. The Shenmue series share with BG&E a immersive storyline, and some great gameplay moments. I've only played Shenmue Ii (Dreamcast and Xbox), but the original is largely the same, so I'd recommend both. The Yellow Head building in the latter stages of the sequel is one of the best game experiences I have ever played.

ICO and Shadow of the Colossus too- I haven't played them yet, but I'm buying a PS2 just for them. I'm fairly confident it'll be worth it.

Games to play if you like BGE:

Knights of the Old Republic 1&2
Eternal Darkness (i agree that this has good replay value, not bad as some suggest)
MDK2 for dreamcast (does anyone else remember this game, it was the **** and BGE reminds me of it, if you can actually find this game, buy it immediately you'll love it, it's in the same vein as bge )
rayman 3 but you've already covered that
Jet Grind Radio / Jet Set Radio Future (these games have that same sense of "wow holy **** this game is just sheer originality and style!" that bge has, though the gameplay is not at all similar)
Super Metroid (considered one of the greatest games ever made)
Metroid Prime

thats all that comes to mind immediately.

Before BGE, I was more into Rayman, and I still kind of am, but not so much a fan of Rayman 3 as all the others.

I also play Dungeon Siege from time to time. (I need DSII darnit. >< )

And Psychonauts is another one of my prized games that I'm just glad I spent my money on... And also one of those titles that earn the reward "the best game no one has ever played."

I never realized how well traveled BG&E fans were in the gaming world!

I have played almost all of the games the original poster has played and can relate.

Some personal advice: Since you seem to not be afraid of slightly older games with good storylines, as storylines seem to be the main buy-point in your choice of games, make sure to play the originals first (unless you don't care). Half-Life 2, for instance, is an amazing game, but it makes very little sense at all if you did not play through the first Half-Life. Actually, it makes very little sense even if you DID play the original, but that is not the point.

I can personally recommend almost all of the games listed here so far. They are all entertaining and have various levels of replay value. Since most of my suggestions have already been discussed, I think I might add a game called Darwinia to the list. The only place I know to get this is through Valve's (Half-Life creators) Steam delivery service (An online download).

Cheers on gaming. Always remember that it is about fun!

I finished Half-Life 2 on Xbox a few days ago, and I must say I enjoyed it a lot.
Well, I didn't figure out how to do the last fight, and I had to skip a level due to graphics problems, or so I'll say so that's an excuse. :3
I think you drive in that stupid boat too much, but it was fun anyways. I liked the last levels and the gravity gun. Fun stuff. Big Grin

The only think I don't like about the X-Box version is that the textures are slightly blury in spots... x.x

Best Game I ever played,

OUTCAST is one of my all time favorite game. This game revolves around a character called Cutter slade an Officer who travels to parallel universe in order to save a mission went wrong and what follows is a interesting game play involving lot of talking with different characters, traveling , puzzle solving and at last a twist. Well this game was awarded as the best action adventure game of the year 1999(GameSpot,,loonygame,GamePower). The game is neat with a real time engine for movies generation in the game play and very fulfilling with bonus quests.

The Office Game Site -- www.outcast-thegame.com

A must play for all adventure game followers .unfortunately the games sequel OUTCAST 2 The Lost Paradise is been abandoned from production since the game company went bankrupt .

Highly recommended

Now that I hear about, I would love to play Outcast, but there are no copies around as denden said.
And then I wouldn't want to play it because no sequel would be made to continue the story, but I'd probably play it anyways.
I've always loved good adventure games.

OutCast has a complete story, no cliffhangers, so you won't be disappointed. There is a huge world with a lot of people to talk to, but your tasks are generally - find somebody or bring something. However the immersion is great and the story has a good surprise in it.
