I seem to have lost Pey J after coming out of room 3 in the akuda bar for the first time, but I still need him to open a gate in the factory. Where is he? DO I need to start again?

You've probably just got a glitch. Keep trying. If it keeps happening, then you'll need more help. Post back if it keeps happening, and I'll give you instructions on what to do.

I have searched the whole area that I can travel so far, even went vback to his workshop, but can't find him. But when I go in the looters cave I do hear his voice as if he is in the hoovercraft with me. Its a killer being a novice with these games

I saw you have a thread about this on the technical help forum as well as on this one. I suggest you post your dxdiag on that thread, then sit back and wait to see if anyone can help you.
To open up your Dxdiag, go to Start, then to Run, type in dxdiag and open it up. Then press 'save all information'. Then copy and paste it on your thread on the technical help forum.
I'm afraid I can't help you any more than this. I'm not much of an expert when it comes to working out technical stuff. Once you've posted it on your other thread on the technical help forum, you'll just have to hope one of the members who can help you will log onto the forums. Good luck, anyway.

This is also a game there it is easy to be stuck by an error, so if you only have done the game to the factory you should try start a new game and hope it will not happen again.

However, if you are talking about opening the door in the room over the elevator in elevator room (with two blue triangular shaped things); you can do it yourself. You just have to stay in the front of one, shoot the other with a gyro disc, and open that one you stay in front of. Easy.
But if you can't get longer from that room you've opened, you MUST start a new gamesave!!
