Okay now Ive gone from pessimistic to cautiously optimistic. You know I saw on gametrailers an interview in which nintendo staff said that there was a game coming out for wii which the 'gamers are going to want'. It could be BG&E but I hope they dont just release it for wii because I have an xbox 360 and as much as I love BG&E Im not going to buy a wii just for one game. Also I would hate to see BG&E suffer poor sales a 2nd time around just because Ubisoft didn't port it. An Xbox 360 version is a must for me and a pc version may also be a good idea because on the European website theres a poll that shows that most people played the game on the PC. I could live without a ps3 version but Im not sure about other people.

Wow Confusedthat deviant art picture isnt the kind of thing Id expect to see on the back cover of a professional magazine.

Not everyone has Xbox360/PS3/SUPER COMPUTER

The more A titles released on Wii the better - so far the games have been mini-game after mini-game and it's about time that the 'Gimmick' stopped and Nintendo released mainstream titles.

Not every game on the Wii needs to use Wiimote - there is a classic controller aswell which is perfectly capable of 'retro gaming'.
I will get the Wii once I see more mainstream games are released on it because the extortionate pricing for Xbox360/PS3/SUPER COMPUTER has put me off getting any of them.

IF BG&E2 is released only on Xbox360/PS3/SUPER COMPUTER I'll be VERY VERY ANGRY!!!!!!! Angry

I would be very very happy. Puren next-gen FTW! (No, Wii is not next-gen except for it's controller).

If they don't release it for PC I would kill something. If they release it only for Wii I would kill something, and then myself.

As long as they release it for PC and don't use Wii as the primary platform I'll be satisfied. Otherwise we get crappy graphics, and that would suck.

Merci Ubisoft!

I understand why you would feel that way because I also think that consoles today are overpriced and the High-Def televisions and junk you need to get the most out of them makes buying a console even less worthwhile. Nevertherless I bought an Xbox 360 to get more games like BG&E and if its released exclusively on the wii I will be disinterested in the franchise.

I didn't say it shouldn't be released on the wii I just think it should also be availible on the other not so overpriced consoles atleast. I personally wouldn't care if the xbox 360 version was a direct port of the wii version though a next gen game would be cool too.

The last game was very accesible because anyone could play it and I think this one should be the same. And we dont want sales to faulter a second time because of the game not being acessible.

A wii version would be important because alot of BG&E fans have wii's and might appreciate being able to take photos and swin Jade Dai-Jo staff using the motion controls.

Hopefully it's not a (horrible) April Fool's Joke.

It would be a little bit more legit if it had one of those fine printed copyright by Ubisoft at the bottom. Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah I never understood what the all the fuss was about regarding the ending.

Hey you know I imagine Michel Ancel would be secretive about the sequel if he was developing it. Thats probably why his 'untitled project' is 'untitled'. Lets not forget one of the best thing about BG&E is that it is not overhyped, at least not officially.

Theoretically, tomorrow's the big day! Then we shall see, if our dreams will come true, or... or they will come true only later.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if it was just an announcement that BG&E was going on Steam...

I do wonder if that ad was related to Steam now. Perhaps it was some sort of inside joke. Ubi had been with Direct2Drive for a long time. Maybe Ubi had some contracts with Direct2Drive that preventing them from selling most of their games on Steam..... which were all over on April 10. Smile Frown

Well, I just fired up my Steam client, and Beyond Good and Evil is not available. Doesn't mean it won't be in the future, as there are a few Ubi games there, but as of when I write this post, BG&E is not available on Steam.

If it is in the future, I'll probably purchase it.

Did anyone check the letters section of the magazine? I'd imagine at least one reader would have inquired about it.

I doubt it was a joke, though. BG&E has a loyal fanbase, but it's small compared to that of other games they could have made a joke of. Strange...
