Hi Everyone

As pretty much everyone expected. There has been no announcement to Beyond Good & Evil 2.

Eventhough I knew there would be no news at E3 - I do feel sad and disheartened.

How about you?

Uh, suprised? No.

I'm looking forward to Wii, and that's about it.

It's the funniest thing; whether due to cutbacks on expenditure on my part or lack of new things catching my eye, I've become less interested in gaming as a whole (I've yet to purchase this month's edition of my gaming periodical Edge, although this could be attributed to the fact that it's the "pre-E3-black-hole" issue), and nothing I've seen of E3 thusfar has caused the frothgates to come bursting open...

I'm a bit excited for the Wii (I've never before been excited over a console o_o), Rayman 4, and Spore. I'm not surprised that BGE didn't show up, but it's still a little disappointing that there weren't some hints to any new game releases from Ancel like with King Kong or Rayman 3.

I wasn't disappointed or disheartened, because I didn't expect there to be an announcement. I'm just looking forward to Rayman Raving Rabbids and the fact that Michel Ancel, just like me, has always foreseen that the bunnies will take over the world. I never thought it would be Rayman to save us from the threat, though.

I sense that BG&E2 might be announced after Rayman 4 is released. I thought that King Kong didn't do well, but I read on IGN a couple of days ago that it sold millions of copies after all. Quite the opposite of what I thought. So after Rayman 4, Ancel will have two million sellers on his hands after BG&E. That should convince Ubisoft to give the man permission on making BG&E2. Having said that, I just hope that Rayman 4 will be the millionseller that it deserves to be. But there should be no doubt about that.

No, I wasn't disheartened at all, simply because I knew that there was no way Montpellier could have been developing BG&E2.

Rayman 4 looks great, and Ancel seems to be working hard on creating huge universes. That's right: the linear gameplay's gone out of the window.

I'm sensing that the format will be a lot like BG&E, in that aspect.

man i can't wait to play BG&E2 using Wii controller to control katana stick!!!

Well I hope they announce it after Rayman 4!!!

For now I'll just look forward to throwing Rayman's punches to the bunnies with a flash of the Wii-controller.

I guess I had a small hope built, but inside I knew we weren't going to see it due to the new Rayman game taking up Ancel's current time. I do feel stronger now than ever that Ancel will start on BGE 2 after his current project. Until then, there's a very strong lineup of PC games on the horizon, all of which we got a taste at E3.

Glad I'm not the only one who has that feeling. It just seems the only logical move for Ancel to make after Rayman 4 in my opinion.

Sorry to contradict you, but from a fiscal point of view, that's completely illogical.

Rayman 5 sounds catchy, though.

I don't think it's illogical at all. Look at PoP, it didn't have outstanding fiscal numbers with it's first release. I think they know when they've got a good game. Sure, Ubi's against it no matter what, it's too un-popular for them, and they require much money. Ancel won't forget about BGE, however. That's where the power lies. That's why I believe we'll see the sequel soon.

As much as I love this game, I'm not going to pretend that Ubi will be raving to get a sequel made.

Ancel will have to apply some serious pressure to get this series going again, and nobody knows if he'll do that or not.

Well, one thing's for sure: once BG&E2 is announced, we as a fanbase must do our best to promote it. It almost feels like a responsibility. Ubisoft can count on us to support them.

Ubi won't be raving to get a sequel out. Why would they? It didn't pay the bills.. they'd rather be safe where they know they can stuff their pockets with other franchises. I only say I'm hopeful because Ancel has said himself that he won't forget about the BGE story. I think he's a man with a big enough influence that he can make a sequel happen - with or without Ubi.

Who knows? Maybe Ubisoft will sell BG&E to someone else...

Yes, Jericho, they were knighted together. Now let's hope they will one day be united together, and make the best darn game in the entire universe. And let that game be Beyond Good & Evil 2!!!

But I've done my best to cast that thought out for over two years, and I will continue to do so for the time being.
