Korn - Daddy

hahaha, this is so funny... the song is 15 minutes long and he starts crying about 5-7 minutes in... and then it's just that and the bass riff and some drums and stuff for a few minutes... and then there's a row, i'm sure it's all very emotional in real life, but hey, this is a song. hence i can lmao and it's ok Big Grin

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Sprial

i'm just getting into this new album... and i have to say that NIN are really growing on me... since the awesomeness of "With Teeth" impacted on my skull, i've been kinda addicted to their style... but it's been kinda dormant and hovering inthe background, and what with this album bringing in the re-inforcements, i don't think my head will be able to resist the awesomeness much longer!

Feeder - Child in You

aaah, now a little relief for the addiction of NIN. some lovely, non threatening and gorgeous melodic Feeder. a particularly awsome song, starts slow and subtle, and gets beautiful as it moves into the chorus...

"close your eyes and drift away to some place new,
where the skys are blue, brings back the child in you...
crossing lonely fields as birds begin to speak,
i's alright... it's okay..."

hmm... lovely! Big Grin

Danny Elfman - The Piano Duet
Album: Corpse Bride OST
Genre: Elfman

Yep, Corpse Bride again. I have a pseudo quite song list that I comped for when I animate (Allthough I usually animate without music, I read it's good practice to do without. Music distracts, animation is concentration!) Tonite I've been animating a character walk cycle for the last two hours, and really been enjoying it. Head over to my 3D topic to read about it (and see it by tommarow, hopefully)

Just another song from an artist I don't know, I got it from an mp3-player of a friend. But it's a nice song, I hear.

Alright, this was a good opportunity for me to listen to another song from System of a Down next to Aerial. I must say, I like it. I really like it! It's just really cool, loud and noisy music.

Now listening to:

Bukka White - Parchman Farm

Blues! Big Grin

wow. SOO wasn't expecting that! glad to hear that you like it, Denden. it's not the best off their album, but it's one of the best... the best in my opinion is "Radio/Video", cos it has no political point, contrary to most of System of a Down's music. this song (to me) is all about the music and the beautiful sounds that can be produced through the instuments available to the band... which brings me neatly onto this next point, which is that Cigaro is so much more that just noise... it IS noise, but the lyrics have so much depth if you can actually understand them. i think the main theme of the song is about people who don't care about the earth or the future, hence the lines "Burning through the worlds resources, then we turn and hide..."; i think it's pointing out how stupid people are for not caring about really big and impending issues such as global warming, the diminishing oil and gas resources, not recycling etc etc, and who are more concerned about their appearance and how shiny their teeth are, you know the kind... anyway.

i'd really like your opinion on this song actually... Incubus - Summer Romance (Anit-Gravity Love Song), mostly because i think it's a song you'd enjoy. Smile

As for SoaD, heres Tenacious D's take on their songs. I have to agree.

I'll listen to the songs as soon as I get back from school Uglyphil.

Listening to:
Rex's Lair from Metal Gear Solid.

Such a pity that this song wasn't in Twin Snakes, it's such a memorable song.

and this is one of the reasons why i feel all special when i listen to SoaD... instead of just coming to the conclusion of "i dunno what it means", i try and work out what they're trying to say. that particular song, Chop Suey, and the phrase "when angels deserve to die", was Darrons view on how people view death. He said that if he were to die from being shot or stabbed or whatever, people would say "oh, that's awful, why do these things always happen to good people?" or something along those lines. but if he were to die from a drug overdose or something like that, people would say he deserved it.. he also noted that it's not trying to prove anything, it's just an interesting point about the way people view death.

lemme give you another example of how i love SoaDs music. i was on the Official Soad forums, and i was reading the post about "Question!", one of their recent singles. There were only a few people there who tried to derive meaning from the song, but the people that did each had their own interpretation of the lyrics, and all of them were valid and really interesting to read. the song had no obvious meaning... it was there, but you had to look for it and think about it, it wasn't just dumped right in front of you. one person said that they thought it was to do with natural drugs and what they can do to you ranging from calm trickling senses to loud, fast vibrant experiences. I thought it was to do with the destruction of things that are different, the idea of conforming to a majority, fitting in with the band's political view on the Armenian Genocide (1.5 million Aremians in the Ottoman Empire were killer between 1915 and 1923, totalling 2/3rds of the population). there were other opinions as well that i can't remember now, but that were quite interesting nonetheless.

that being said, that ytmnd was still funny, Jack Black is a great guy... seems a little dumb and retarded and stuff, but he's a great comedian and entertainer. Big Grin

Okay, I'm now listening to Radio/Video, I must say it's really rocking!

Next song: Incubus - Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity Love Song) In terms of music, it's a really good produced song. It sounds like a lot of different instruments are in there. The lyrics are really nice, the name of the song says it all. I don't know anything about summer love, or love for that matter. But this song pretty much represents what I imagine of love. Just dreaming away with your girl. I'll be listening to this song more often.

Oh, on a side-note: I expect that we'll soon see that Jack Black can act as well. King Kong is going to rock the cinemas, as well as Jack Black! Well, he already did in School of rock, but I expect to see some good acting of him in King Kong.

hmm, nice to hear that you liked it! i think it's ther best song off S.C.I.E.N.C.E., but Morning View is their best album by far Wink. at first i thought that it was their worst, but then i listened to it a bit more and i really began to like it.

anyway;
Biffy Clyro - There's No Such Thing As a Jaggy Snake

...don't ask.
