First off: hello all! I'm brand new to BGE, and the site in general. I genuinely hope that I posted this in the right place and, if not, please direct it elsewhere. So long as I can finish this game, that's the main thing.
So, I'm playing through BGE for the first time. NTSC PS2 version. I've been at it for the better part of a week, have most of the game completed, and am now in what I believe to be the last part of the game. Spoilers abound below: So... after getting Pey'j back, I found I needed to find the "Great Crypt" and snap a photo of the Domz High Priest. Easy enough. The other two can't fit through the glass in the Cloister, but Jade can. Easy. I go up there, have no problems doing any of the minor puzzles or anything on my way to the Crypt. While in there, I snap the shot and listen to the talking, and then make my way back. So far, so incredibly good. I recall at this point that now I need to make it back to the Transmission Room. I had stumbled upon the place a bit on accident, and already took a shot of the scrambled code. Thus, in addition to getting IRIS-flash 515 on my way back from the Crypt, I also got Code 5 from the Governor, because I had already taken a photo of the scrambled code. Fair enough. I constantly took photos of scrambles earlier in the game, with no problems. Here's where things get ugly. I leave the Crypt and head back to the Cloister. I go down the light elevator and slide back through the glass, where Jade comments to HH about the horrors she had seen. I'm sure you all experienced this. What I'm not sure you all experienced was, once on the other side of the glass, only seeing Pey'j. HH is absolutely nowhere to be found. He is greyed-out in the start menu, even. I've gone through load screen after load screen (which usually reunites lost characters) to no avail. I've attempted to go back to the Beluga, but the two-man switch won't activate. No matter what I do, Pey'j refuses to stand on it. I've reset the console, but I saved beforehand because I didn't think it would be such a problem. I've consulted some guides on the matter, and I have yet to find another person who has encountered this. So... has anybody else encountered this? Is my game ruined? Do I really have to spend what little gaming time I have replaying the game just to get up to this point, just because of some totally oddball glitch? The game has, up until this point, been one of the greatest experiences of my gaming life. All I want to do is experience it to its conclusion, and for some reason I can't. Please, if anyone can, please help. |

Ooohh
AS for peyj refusing to stand on the switch I think thats meant to happen. But Im not sure. Try re-entering the Cloiyster or going from room to room. |

I'm fairly confident HH isn't meant to dissappear, as none of the guides I've consulted have stated such. I've explored every available area time and time again, and haven't found him. I know what I'm supposed to do: go down the elevator to the Beluga's area and get to the Transmission Room. Without HH, the game won't actually recognize that I'm on the elevator, even though it's only a two-man operation. Jade and Pey'j stand on the buttons, and it refuses to go down.
I've already accepted that I suppose I just have to play the game again from scratch. I've even started a new game already. I'll just be more careful with my saves next time. Thanks for the response. |

Aw thats wierd |

lol I don't need to get into the Beluga, just the area where it's located. In the same general area is a three-man switch. You'd probably have to replay the end level to really get just how limited my options are. :P I can't activate the three-man elevator without using the two-man to go down into the Beluga area in the first place. Thank you, though.

Well, there's two triple-elevators at the moon. Just do the game again. Sorry. |

This kind of problem is known to happen with the PC version but I didn't know it also happens with the console versions. If it were on PC you could still load a savegame from someone else, but on PS2 there's probably not much you can do...

lol Thanks guys. It's at least heartening to know that I'm not the only person who has ever experienced the glitch. I'm not too worried about it anymore. The game is simply amazing, so replaying it isn't exactly the annoyance it would be with most other games.

lol XD I'm so sorry to hear you're having a similar problem! Yup, no way around it. I ended up replaying the game from scratch and finished the game. The only advice I can give you is to play through the end level very, very carefully, and to make a backup file as soon as you enter! Other than that, you'll have to do what I did and replay it! :P
