Jade looks great, IMO, and I don't know if this is just a video using the game's engine or actual gameplay... but it is fantastic and THIS, people, WILL SELL. LOTS.

I just need the HD video of this...

EDIT -> Some things I looked at:
- Jade still has her S.A.C.
- The helicopter mechanics look a lot like the hovercraft mechanics from BG&E1.
- The helicopter has text written on it: "West Fruits". It also seems to be carrying some fruit.
- The helicopter is the only vehicle that looks a lot like the vehicles from BG&E1. Not to mention that the cars actually drive this time... on wheels. There is something wrong with the cars though... they have only one wheel in front, and 2 on the back. :P
- This place looks a lot like Earth. Maybe this is actually one of the planets we'll get to explore? I don't think we'll ONLY be on Earth though.
- It's definitely Jodie Forrest doing Jade's voice again. ^^
- One of the cars' license plate is FC-039-FR. Actually, it looks like the 2 cars Jade runs past at 1:17 have the same license plate.
- At 1:17, you can see that the building just across the street from the building she climbs is a pharmacy.
- Just at the beginning of the video, you can see a huge blue poster. I don't know what's written on it though.
- The police look like real people this time, unlike in BG&E1.
- What's that animal at 0:15?

And that's all of my over-analysis.

Wait, I thought this was an in-engine video, but it might actually be some gorgeous gameplay.

The thing that makes most people think that this is in-engine is the camera. It might be in-engine, sure, but it can also be in-game.

You see, the camera system actually looks pretty simple: if you look at it closely, you can see that the camera follows Jade's movements. If she jumps, the camera goes up about half a second later. It's especially noticeable when Jade jumps on the cops' heads.
And the camera also turns, depending on where Jade looks at.

So in fact, the camera just copies Jade's movements, only half a second later.
Of course, it would stop if Jade stops, and turn on some occasions, like when Jade starts climbing the pole at 0:17.

This might be gameplay, people.

It reminds me of the old times when Jade was chased by the bucket heads. I'm so happy the concept is still there.



I wish we could see Jade's face with her headband though. I did hear her voice actor like bitebug said, but I hope it isn't just a placeholder voice and all of them will come back again.

I hope Beyond Good & Evil 2 won't lose the magic of the original game. But I trust Michel Ancel, and I'm sure BG&E2 will surpass Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia (actually, I think they took a lot from BG&E: PoP took the Jade Engine and AC and Mirror's Edge rooftop chases).

Way to go, Michel! Hope to see you guys at E3. Let people know what they've missed.

Disregard my 'not impressed' comment as I've had time to study it, and I'm actually liking the attention to detail, and the flow of the gameplay.

i think it makes sense they didn't show Jade's face clearly yet, since she's probably going to look different from the Jade we know. They probably don't want to upset the fans of the original game just yet.

As long as she keeps the 'headband' and her emotions, which I think identified Jade. I so hope Jodie Forrest reprises her role.
It would be odd to listen to another 'voice'.

I still think the 'Hah' suggests it is her (but it might be the original voiceclip thats been used in the sequel).

Time only knows......

Seeing the trailer made me spare some cash to buy BGAE.

Seing this trailer made ME reserve some cash to buy a console, if necessary.

I think its the original, voice acting is usually only implemented at the very end of the development. It would definitely be nice to have the original voice actors back though.

When I heard her voice, I thought they were just recycling sounds from the first game. At this early point in development, they probably haven't started the voice recording sessions yet.

Thing is we don't know how far they are in development.

Signals of progression may include the forum makeover, and possibly a teaser site.

And of course anything that will be revealed at E3.

Whatever they have done so far, I like the style. I remember a lot of people were a little weary of the 'new graphic style' last year - but seeing this clip it actually looks cool.

Well I think everyone pretty much agrees that it's not actual gameplay. I would say that it's rendered in-engine though.

FYI.. Indigo Prophecy is Fahrenheit in the UK - another exceptional game.
