I guess different people have different tastes. The art style of the 1st game was the selling point for me and I didnt care about the 'story'. Though I admit it was a bit too cartoony sometimes especially the soldiers and double H and the pig. But Jade looked fantastic and so did the envirnments.

So, I just finished BG&E AGAIN! Only this time I played it with a higher level of concentration, and doing so made me notice some things that I never noticed before, or maybe I did but can't remember for the fact that the last time I finished it was over a year back

Anywaz, noticing these things made me think about the sequel and how the story will evolve..

I was gonna start a new speculation thread, but since we have this one I'll post my speculations here:

1. The game storyline WILL continue from where the first game ended or atleast will be connected/related. I'm pretty sure of this one. I mean, Ancel already stated that this game was made to be a triology ever since he started the project and that this project is the closest to his heart, so..

2. The game will be titled "Beyond Good & Evil 2" or "Beyond Good & Evil [sub]" but the words "Beyond" "Good" "Evil" will stay in the title, and I think we will understand what he meant by this title in the upcoming sequel or the next.

3. When Jade faints after her first battle in the game, Pey'j shouts "bring the serum" What serum? Maybe a serum to stop her from turning back to her true self? A DOM?! Also in the final battle, the beast calls her and tells her that they took her away from him to make him weaker, and that they gave her the human look and made her forget who she really is! What if he was telling the truth?

4. Pey'j was not infected, he is a Dom in disguise, either Pey'j himself is a Dom, or that he did die on the ship and a Dom toke his shape. Or even better he was infected, by JADE! When she brought him back!! Still, if it is the fact that he was infected when he was sucked by the final boss, then doubleH should be infected also! Or was he infected when he was held in that capsule for two weeks?

5. At the ending cut-scene, the one before the cast not after, Jade smiles! Why is she smiling? Is it a happy smile or a mean one? I really hope not, but I think it was a mean smile! I also think Jade will have special powers in the next sequel or the one after, control/read minds, see the unseeable, etc.

6. The vehicle from the teaser is not the hovercraft, it's a car, a new addition to their vehicles, or an old one?! And racing mini-games will be added for it, like the ones we had for the hovercraft.

7. This sequel will tell us the beginning of Jade's story and the next one will tell us the story after what we've played.

I had much more theories, but most have slipped away.. Come on people! 4 days are left for E3 and we might get our impaitiently awaited sequel!! Throw in your theories and discuss mine before we get the official story..

I thought about the serum thing at the beginning, could it be the same medicine used for Double H in the IRIS hideout? Surely that first Domz monster played a key role in the storyline, since it raised some 'memories' in Jade and started the whole thing.

Why do you think Pey'j is a disguised Dom? I highly doubt Pey'j is a Dom or worse (otherwise you wouldn't see him suffering and breathing heavily like that in the end of the game I suppose), but we know that somehow Jade is involved in this business, which bring us to the usual question we were asking for a long time: Who is Jade aka Shauni?

As for the final smile, I think there's nothing to worry about, it's definitively a happy one (heck, she freed the Hillyans from the Domz and defeated the stinky beast) but at the same time it looks ambiguous, not suspicious. I expect this to be skipped... for now...

I think we'll still hear about the IRIS Network, the Alpha Sections and the Domz, they're not only on Hillys after all, are they?

We'll get more answers in the sequel, but I really hope it won't raise even more questions like in Half-Life2. 'Beyond Good & Evil 2' (maybe with a subtitle) is perfect for me. No reboots or odd changes, just keep up the good work, Ubi.

I have no doubt that he was telling the truth, and that also explain why the game was originally called Between Good & Evil.

Pej'y was definitely infected by Jade: watch the scene where Jade unknowingly revived Pey'j and you'll notice she was holding Pey'j's left hand, which is exactly where the Domz parasite appeared.

Ubisoft would be foolish to spoil the storyline of the sequel (admittedly they've done that before with plenty of their games). That said I'm not so sure BG&E 2 will be shown at E3. Perhaps they'll release Chapter 2 of their trailers, but I don't expect anything more than that.

@g314: I was just thinking that maybe Pey'j was in disguise and that his skin was starting to wear off, but what Daroth_343 said makes more sense I still think there's something about that smile.. I don't think we'll be hearing about Alpha nor IRIS in the upcoming sequels, since the Alpha was destroyed, and since the Hillians were free so there will be no need for IRIS, as for the Domz, they will definetly be there.. I hope the opposite! I hope the sequel will rise more question, mystery was one of best things in the game, and not to have some in the sequel would make it dull, imho..

@Daroth_343: I didn't say that everything will be revealed at E3, I was just saying that we start speculating before we get the official story.. I think they learned from their previous mistakes from what I see in the new PoP

BG&E 2 is GT's E3 7th most anticipated game, it more anticipated than PoP which is 8 btw, it was announced that GT is E3s official video portal, so I think this is a confirmation that we'll be hearing something about it at E3

Well, the IRIS Network is spread in many planets across the galaxy, Hahn says that when you enter in their base the first time. Same deal with the Alpha Sections: Hillys got rid of them for good (I think), but they're still a threat in other planets; who will take Gen. Kehck's place now?

DidoFRGT I agree with most of what youve said and had some of the exact same theories.

I think the Domz will turn out to be the victoms(mostly) and Jade was meant to save them by doing what she does best, exposing the truth only this time to the unknowing perpertrators of Hyllis and blurring the lines between and what they initially percieved as Good and Evil. That would explain the title.

It would be nice to play a game which didnt just have you blindly fighting against the 'bad guys'. BG&E can afford to complicate things a little bit

the serum, i think was because the (lighthouse) monster tried to connect with her when it grabbed her. as for the priests speech, i fully agree.

O_O.... i certainly hope that is not the case. BUT, i agree that he was infected in the capsule.

the smile was part of the cliffhanger for me! and what happened before it! as for phsychic powers:....eeeeeeeeeeeeemabye.

Maybe it wasn't a serious trailer because Peyj didnt seem like he was possesed by evil to me Or maybe the Domz thing only takes over at certain times-in the 1st game Peyj seemed pretty benevolant many times after Jade saved him. Also it may not even be a mindcontrol spore it could just be an ilness or something similair to what Double H had. Who knows.

Personally I prefer the old artistic style of Beyond Good & Evil it really had a heart warming feel to it. But, it is understandable why the art style has changed as Ubi want to promote the game from a new angle by making the game seem like a newly introduced game to players who have not bought or known about the first game to make it financially successful. Also, Michel Ancel has talked about giving the game a new title.

So it looks like you guys are right about the dramatic style change.

I prefer the old art style too not so much because it was 'heart warming' but because I thought it looked magical and had a fantasy feel to it, though I admit I found it a bit too cartoony at times. Obviously I wouldnt want them to keep the same graphics for this generation, but Id at least have liked them to have a little bit of magic and fantasy in the style of BGE2 rather than the gritty ultr-realistic look they have now. I think Ancel might as well give it a new name considering its could end up being a completly different game in so many ways.

You're all talking as if the absence of magical atmosphere in the leaked trailer would stay the entire game.

I don't think so at all. They'll probably keep the universe from BG&E, with all the magic fauna and flora, but with awesome graphics so people will be amazed and actually buy it this time.

I think the game will have multiple planets, one being Hillys, and another being Earth, where you can go to India ( where the leaked footage takes place ).

I LOVE the first game it is my life (its sad I know) and i really hope the second game doesn't rune my life. ()
