I want it, I expect a lot from any game made by Ancel and it's based on a Peter Jackson movie too. This game has to be great, although I'm not sure what to expect from it.

You know, I've been thinking...
The line-up I posted are the games they are showing in playable form on showfloor.
I don't know much about previous UbiSoft E3's but maybe we'll see a video of BG&E2. I know it probably won't happen but wasn't BG&E first only in video form?

Hope Remains...

Yeah, I have to admit that I too am looking forward to KK. Peter Jackson, Ancel, it could be really good. (Then again, it could be really bad.) They aern't working on BGE2, so we are all bitter against KK by default. Lets wait until we see just a bit of the game before we completely bash it.

--Good thinking Dukester, I'd be just as happy with a video, if not happier. I'm still anxious to see what Ubi does about BGE2. Lets look at it this way, if BGE2 doesn't show up at this year's E3, then it MUST show up next year. If it doesn't show up next year, we can probably forget about it all together. I highly doubt that they would revive a series that long after it's (should have been) prime. I could be wrong with that thesis tho.

BTW has anyone else noticed the new quote quirp that the forums do now? When You copy a selection of text from a previous post, and then hit reply, the reply window opens up with the copied text within quote tags automatically. It's happened to me 3 times, and it's kinda cool. Hooray for sweet little detail changes.

Hmm, it looks like Ubi only cares about their shooters now, oh yeah, POP3 is the only E3 game from Ubi where I am interested in for now..

May if they finally finish the making of those shooters they will make a Rayman4, a BG&E2, or another cool Ubi game! Wink

Well, you may have got me ther. But PoP was a completely different game, old to new, and by completely different companies. If that's the fate of BGE, then I turn my head in shame.

Hey, this King Kong thing looks like it could be the real deal. A rowsing success for Ancel could only help the chances of a BG&E sequel.
Peter Jackson's King Kong will be Ubisoft's most impressive and successful game of 2005. --Yves Guillemot
Ancel speaks(!):
"We're amazed by Peter Jackson's creativity and what he brings to the project," said Michel Ancel, creative director at Ubisoft. "Peter Jackson's King Kong is a creation that closely follows the storyline of the movie, yet, as video games have the innate ability to do, will push the emotional tension of the film to even greater depths. We are incorporating content directly from Weta, some of which is exclusive, and creating unprecedented gameplay that will lead players into an emotional journey featuring epic battles, tough choices and a dynamic experience in a visually stunning environment."

Award-winning Videogame Creator and Three-time Academy Award Winner Collaborate to Create Groundbreaking Videogame Experience

Bounce on over to Ubi's King Kong forum and check out the 21 screenshot links at IGN. Do these shots remind anyone else of BG&E?
Oh darn, now I may have to divide my time in another forum.

[Edit:] Okay, here is a newer link: King Kong Roars Through E3 (er, the mobile version?).

Thanks for providing these links, finally some details on the gameplay, and some beautiful screens that show a BGF&E-like style. I am glad they used the Jade-engine, judging from the screens, it's working out perfectly! At least I can be assured that the game will provide me with sme serious eye-candy. The gameplay looks very interesting, first-person ánd third-persn. I was pretty impressed with the screen that shows the firstperson-gameplay in action, and the character is just about to throw the spear at this huge dinosaur. The overall atmosphere in this screen is amazing, the details, the colours.

Wow, that game looks gorgeous. The JADE engine can literally do anything, just put it in the hands of a talented developer. I'm getting kind of excited for this game. the screens just shout out the JADE engine, especially the people. I think they just might pull this one off. I'm not so sure about the FPS stuff tho, the images with driscoll holding the luger pistol bothers me, as if the gun is pointing inward too much. I'm going to keep my eye on it (might as well, if the team isn't working on BGE2, then what else is there to watch?)

So here we are again, (almost) a year later.

We'll have to wait 3 months untill the line-up is revealed. I've got a love/hate relation with the pre-E3 months, on one hand I'm excited for E3 but on the other, it takes AGES 'till it actually is E3. 4 1/2 months! Aargh! And nothing too spectular is going to happen because everyone wants to keep their big news for E3. Aargh again!

We'll see what the future brings. At least there will be a BG&E 2 someday (Ancel said so in multiple interviews) so now we've just got to be patient. Indifferent

I hope it will be announced that Ancel will either make:
1. BG&E 2
2. A totally new, original and creative game for the Nintendo Revolution.

It doesn't necessarily have to be on the Ninteo Revolution, but it has to be just as creative and original as Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil were.

I'm hoping we'll actually see some REAL stuff from the Revolution this E3, not that I'm interested in buying it, I just want to see if I should continue to be critical. Unfortunatly, this E3 will be chock full of PS3 bull, and maybe even some real time stuff that'll make people say "wow this is the greatest thing ever" despite the fact that they know in the back of their heads the real time graphics are not nearly as amazing as that killzone 2 video was. No one will admit to it, but that's what the mainstream junkies do each and every time. The PC offering at E3 should be great this year, hopefully we'll see a release or get more info of the Ageia physX card.

This E3 nintendo will show Twhilight Princess being also fully compatible with the unique functions of the Revolution controller. It will be the ultimate game for both the Gamecube and Nintendo Revolution, making full use of the Gamecube's hardware capacities and of the Revolution's controller.

I hope...

Man, we already made the name- Beyond Good and Evil: Revolution. It works perfectly. We just need to have a game to slap that name onto.

You know, I read this post thinking it was created a few days again (late January). I just read the whole thing and realized it is over a year old.

A clever way to bring up the exact same topic a year later and add in some background though.

I wonder how the sequel will (that is a definate verb, that is) work. Is it going to continue to be based on the photography aspect Jade afforded? Will they hike it out into space and fight galactic evils? Does the world open up into a bigger picture senario or does it just shift locales?

OOPS, I just realized there are already 12,000 posts speculating the sequal, my bad.
