sounds promising... although, yet again, i'm not gonna believe it until i see some hard evidence like some promo art or a formal announcement or something. as said bitebug said before, we've been hearing this for 5 years now and still nothing... so... we'll just have to wait and see, and not get our hopes up too much. Shady on a lighter note, if anyone is artistic enough and has a deviantart account, please feel free to join the club http://bgeclub.deviantart.com and show everyone just how much you support the game. Happy

Too Happy YOU'RE RIGHT!!! I have a suggestion for Ubisoft, if they are afraid tht people won't buy the sequel cuz new gamers haven't played the 1st 1 (though I doubt there s any1 haven't played it!): Sell both the games as a package with a special price!! Every1 loves combo packeges!! I know tht I do!! By tht u won't have to worry about the new gamers, and the old 1s will finally get their sequel!!! Or even better, throw it on Xbox360 Live Originals with a lower price than the other originals, I'm sure every1 will download it! Plzzzzzzzzzzzzz Sad Eyes

I have to wonder if Ubisoft is happy with Ancel revealing that they're unofficially working on BG&E 2. This just doesn't seem like something they would allow. In any case the news was posted on a lot of gaming websites including Gamespot and all that in less than a day, which is surprising considering its not even an official announcement. Ubisoft would have to be stupid not to green light the sequel at this point. Even if they wouldn't make any direct profit from BG&E 2, there's still more than enough reason to produce the sequel anyway.

Yeah, although the game didn't sell very well the game is still strongly supported by the gaming press, and the news spread like wild fire. Ubisoft would be stupid no to recognize the support BGE has. Just look at the comments of every article/blog mentioning BGE2 for the last year. Almost everyone who played it would by a sequel, and with proper advertising and marketing probably a lot more. Let's do this Ubisoft, don't let us down.

Merci Ubisoft!

Hello there my good ol' friends.

This place is active... with many new faces! I like, I like.

It has been awhile, ideas and that momentum had been dwindling for so long.

Yet, this sparks up. Something... good. Happy

I'll definitely say that this is a surprise, but if this is true, the people must be heard.

BG&E2 has not only be given the green light, but Ancel and his team has to be given full free reign to create the game in the image that is true to the series, not to bring in the 'mediocre' player.

Again, I state, let your voices be heard. Get those Fan Pics out there (The 'clean' ones), get those dioramas and those sculptures posted out there for the world to see. Let Ubisoft know...

They have a rare gem that is awaiting to see the light once again.

Hey Lynx-0- Smile

I understand about not getting hopes up for a BGE2. I have pursued more than a few leads regarding a sequel, only to find that they were based more on a sincere hope than any hint of fact. So ever since I finished the original I have tried to keep optimistic about someday seeing some serious talk about a continuation to the story.

Yeah, I know nothing official has been released yet, but I've seen more buzz about this in the last few days than I've ever seen. I'm sure most of it stems from jeuxvideo's interview with Michel Ancel, but it's getting people talking. And I think the more people that talk about it, the more that Ubi will see how large and loyal the fanbase is.

I think the BGE fans need to spread the word and create even more buzz about it. It would do a world of good to get more people excited about this game.

It might be way too early to get really excited about anything, but I for one am keeping my hopes up for BGE2.

Looking forward to a glimmer of hope from Ubidays!!

With BG&E on Steam now, I've been getting every single person I know to get a copy. I've been up for about two days helping people with technical issues when trying to get the game working with a myriad of hardware.

If BG&E2 is in the works, people will certainly go out on to Steam and start playing the first game to catch up on the storyline. I have had to help people for hours in order to get the game to work properly, and it didn't require all that much work. I really wish Ubi would patch in support for Vista and some of the newer video hardware + dual cores. They could really revive BG&E. The 12 people I've gotten playing it are all very impressed, and I know other players would really be able to get into it, except for the fact that I have to help each and every person through a lengthy troubleshooting process in order to get everything working!

I'm am very excited for BG&E2. I've played the first on just about every console + PC, and I am elated to see Ancel's review.

Beyond Good & Evil on Steam now!!

I agree, there are really a number of problems right now that can only be solved by a patch. Unfortunately Ubisoft already abandoned the game from the start, so it's highly unlikely they'll fix it.

And welcome back Lynx-0- and Jerichowilks Smile

It's been a long time. I was young when I last lurked around over here.

After all the hype, the release... I don't know.

The more time that passed, the more times I beat the game... It was very sad waiting for a sequel.

Too sad to be around anything BGE.
______

When I first heard news of this, I cheered and teared up soon after. I called a friend, who's also a fanatic.

He cheered. Beyond Good & Evil 2. We'll finally see what happens.
To continue the story and see the future of Hyllis.

I'll probably end up dropping all my current games to look at the screen shots over and over and over again. I can't wait. I CAN'T WAIT!

Not to dash any hopes here, but I remember that picture from a while ago. I believe it's from the back page of an old issue of PC Gamer UK rather than any recent magazine scan hinting at anything. It's a very nice piece of art though. Smile

Also, April 10th occurred on a Thursday this year. It doesn't occur on a Thursday in either 2009 or 2010. I'm wondering if Ubi previously planned some kind of announcement on April 10th this year, but for some reason decided to put it off (for Ubidays, possibly)?

So tell me, how likely is this news? Has there been anything official from Ubi, one way or the other, as of yet? I don't want to get myself worked up too much, but I'm really bloody excited now

Also, we have to remember, that not only is Jade extremely cute, she's also a strong, female protagonist that doesn't rely on having medically impossible proportions (let's just use the letter L, and the letter C, and not name names) and a frighteningly un-appealing voice (throat cancer ftl) to make her kick ass with a vengeance

Blink Wow! The gang is still here! Still moderating, heh BiteBug? Keep the faith, Lynx, we will get BGE2--we have to with all this devotion. Quigon--how was E3 this year? Kudos to Ubi for keeping the sites active--even the Darkroom and Most Wanted List is still there!

Long time no see, guys. Glad you are still around. Maybe some things never do change?

Hey Lynx, are you working for Pixar yet?

Best regards to all!

Gods I hope so. But until we see an official thread pinned to the top their I'm going to have to remain skeptical. After such a protracted delay I have to. If only for my own peace of mind
