Does anyone know if there is a soundtrack available??

I think not. But if we beg & whine enough maybe Ubisoft will put it online in some form? I can only hope.

I agree.. the game soundtrack is easily the best one since the MechWarrior 2 one, and more important, motion picture worthy. Kudos to the music staff, and oh all right, to the entire Dev Team.

You have all done an excellent job!

Bug the hell out of UBISoft and you never know...you push enough buttons something is bound to happen....
Also try any Peer to Peer application because you never know what you can find on them.

Who do we have to bug to get a soundtrack?

Good question, I too would purchase the soundtrack. I love the Akuda Bar/Installation (for the PC version) soundtrack. Simply my favorite piece from a collection of great atmospheric music (fits perfectly with the game).

One idea is an online petition, but they very rarely work. Companies don't take them seriously, because of the little effort it takes to sign one and the fact one person can sign multiple times.

On one other note, does this selection of music remind you of any other games? For example, it reminds me (due to it's quirkiness) of the music of Omikron: The Nomad Soul.

Hy guys! I've just subscribed to the BGE forum and i simply love the Beyond good and evil sondtrack. I have the means to "rip" the entire soundtrack off the game. I would like to know if any of you would support me in dooing so. I would not use the BGE Soundtrack for any commercial use just for it's mear delight. I also have the means to put it on a site so that u guys would be able to download it later. I just want to know a few things:

1. If you agree with this then please send me an e-mail to anubis_forever@hotmail.com with the subject BGE Soundtrack.

2. If you agree with this please inform other people that badly want the soundtrack and kindly ask them to support me with it.

3. All u guys who support me please send e-mails with the tracks that need riped and in wich areas of the game may i find them.

PS: All tracks will have 100% quality (no noise and disruption) They will be exactly as you hear them in-game!

Update: I have the means to "rip" !allmost! the entire soundtrack off the game.

This means i cannot rip music wich has dialogues over it (eg: cinematics). Theese tracks can only be ripped partially, but
most (say 85%-90%) of the soudtrack i can rip!

UPDATE: I am now able to rip cinematic tracks at High quality (without the dialogues). So whoever wants to support me please e-mail me at anubis_forever@hotmail.com I can extract the FULL soundtrack and put in on the net!

How are you getting them out? What kind of files are they? I searched through sally_clean.bf with a HEX editor, and I find what looks like WAV files (that I can't get to work).

I would love to learn how to find and extract files from images like this.

I extract them using FRAPS! it's a kind of FPS recorder. It basically stores all frames in a big AVI movie wich can later be encoded with VirtualDUB. It can also extract sounds from the recorded movies in wav format. from here on i process the music tracks with some of the best audio editors and come up with high-quality tracks from the game.

PS: If you can please give me some hints on how i could use a HEX editor wo extract them from the sally_clean.bf

Anubis2004: Thanks for the info, I'll have to try it.

I'm using Hex Workshop. Most wav files seem to include the text "WAVEfmt" near the top, so I searched for that text. You will find a bunch of them that that are too close together to be real files though.

If it was as simple as copying data from one point to the next, I could write a program to do it. But I know it's not that easy.


EDIT: I see, your way looks like a lot of work. How are you recording the music without the sound effects? Did you turn the sound volume to 0?

Thanks for the info. I'll soon have the BGE Soundtrack site up and i'll put all mp3 tracks i've extracted so far. (7-8 tracks so far). You'll be able to download them from there. also please give me ur e-mail Jason____!

Why do I have this feeling that this is somehow illegal...

It would be illegal if we would sell the soundtrack once we'd got it. But i have no intention of dooing that.

The unoficial BGE soundtrack site has been crashed. but i hope to get it back up soon! if not today!

I'm just thinking that there might be a legal clause somewhere that states no component of the product may be distributed without authorization. Better write to Ubi first, just to be safe.

I would write to them but i can't seem to find the e-mail. help please!

The BGE FRP Rip site is still crashed and i don't think i'll be able to put the full soundtracl there! I'll find a place to put it eventually...
