I notice that GameSpot has Trailer 1 listed under the E3 videos. Chances are, Ubi may be showing the same trailer at E3. Nothing new, but it would be good if Ubi is still showing it.

I dont understand what E3 is or how it works but I think it occurs over a number of days and its not over yet so isnt it possible there could still be BG&E related material?

Also Im kind of glad(but frustrated) that its not being over-hyped. I think if its a good game it can make sales without too much hype THIS time. It also probably means there putting more work into it so yay

In my oppinion I dont think theyve gotten as far in the development process as we would think. The trailer seemed more like a satirical tease and announcement rather than something that was relevant or authentic to the actual game.

Yeah, Pey'j muching on flies wasn't the most exciting of teases, but I sincerely hope this is true.

Unfortunately, I lost access to E3 when they downsized it.

Confirmed for 360 and PS3... Not the PC like GameSpot had listed. I thought that a PC version was not very likely. Oh well... So much for 1920x1200 gameplay. I guess I have plenty of time to decide between a 360 or a PS3. I'm leaning towards the PS3.

BG&E 2 hasn't been confirmed for any specific platforms yet.

When are we getting any updates?!?!

I hope that Microsoft & Sony aren't fighting over exclusivity for the game! It will take years to make a decision (like FFXIII), and if they are, I really hope Sony doesn't win, cuz I have a 360 and I don't want to be forced to buy a PS3!

Me too I have a 360. I was surprised to hear FF13 was coming to 360 but thats not the only reason I would want Xbox to win. Id want Xbox to win just because I really want BG&E to sell this time. But being availible on several consoles after being anticapated as exclusive is one thing, but I seriously dounbt that Beyond Good and Evil would suddenly become exclusive to one console after people have been anticiapting it for both consoles.

Seriously do you care about playing it at 1920x1200? Im not critising just asking because Im also one of those people who likes to play things at the highest visual fidelity possible but thats why I prefer games not focusing too much on pushing hardware limitations because otherwise I always feel like Im missing out if I dont have the hardware for it. And BG&E1 didnt strike me as something that actually relied on the best technology. I think like most of Michel Ancels games, it relied on art style and stuff and it seemed to perform worse with the better hardware. I couldnt even play the 1st game on my newest PC, probably because of the multiple processors or the ATI graphics card or most likely because of Vista.

This is kind of what I'm thinking. Right up until the trailer was shown at Ubidays, the rumor we had going around was that the game was in pre-production and hadn't been greenlighted for full production yet. I imagine that with the trailer, the green light has been lit, but it means that they are still very early in production. They may simply not yet have anything else to show. It may be a year or more before we see anything else, and it may be 2 to 3 (or more) before the game actually hits store shelves.

Wasn't the first one 4 years in development? If development on the second one just started, it wouldn't be that unexpected to see it also take 4 years.

How many people really played the original game? How many of those care about the sequel? Honestly, nobody would invest money in getting exclusivity over a sequel for a game that couldn't even sell 100.000 copies at full price. Just compare how often people search for BG&E and Prince of Persia on Google respectively:

The interest in BG&E is nonexistent compared to the PoP franchise, and it shows in sales with PoP selling millions of copies in just a few weeks, something BG&E couldn't accomplish even with price drops. Making BG&E 2 exclusive for a particular console would hurt sales even more (and it did exactly that for BG&E 1).

I doubt Microsoft and Sony are even aware of BG&E 2. Microsoft never has bothered to make the original BG&E compatible with the 360.

And Daroth_343, that Google Trends link is interesting. This all leads back to my theory. New title, and new direction. Think about it: Why would Ubi even invest so much money into making a direct sequel of a game that sold so poorly?

Don't be surprised if Ubi pulls a "Shadow of the Colossus," and makes BG&E 2 a totally new game to attract new players, while at the same time expanding the story of the original.
