I was browsing through Direct2Drive, and I saw that they were selling Far Cry for $9.95. That's kind of odd, since the game is only about two years old. But what's even more odd is that BG&E, a game older than Far Cry and less graphically impressive, is still holding its price of $19.95.

I wonder why this is. Could BG&E actually be selling more on Direct2Drive than Far Cry? That's kind of odd.

And they are both Ubisoft titles too, right? Hmm...

Well, Farcry has about five different sequels on different consoles other than the PC(Well, just the Xbox and Xbox360 for the moment) and it is also in abundance all over. So lowering it down to 9.95 is a bargain.

BG&E, however, was not the one that had five sequels with the same sounding title extension like the game above(Sarcasm). Nor is it easy to find in game stores. So to make sure the game still retains its value, the stays at 19.95 because it is still being bought slowly by other people...

Wait a minute...Then that means that BG&E still has value to the Ubi market. If it did not, they would just say, "Hey, the game was not that good. Lower the price down to 9.95 so we can get rid of it and move on."

No. They must've said, "Hey, the game did not do so well in stores at launch, but it is still being bought and word is going around about it slowly. Keep the price as it is. There may be something we can salvage from this yet..."

...

Did anyone get a word I just said? Cause I just lost myself. Sad Eyes

Other than the fact that FarCry has numerous incarnation across copious platforms, maybe this is showing us something. Could it be that current generation FPS games have that much shorter lifespan than an action/adventure title?

Last time I saw BG&E was at a local toy shop for 3 or 4 euros, they clearly wanted to get rid of it. It's finally disappearing here too, what a shame.
