I just need to get the space engine from Mammago's but I seem to be short 11 pearls. There is only one empty slot in my pearl inventory, but I only have 19 pearls. What's the deal? Also, do I really need to snap all the animals to finish this game? There are 3 left that I need, but I'm having a hard time finding them. Thanks!

First of all, you don't need to take pictures of all the animals to finish the game. The reward for it is nice but it isn't necessary to obtain. Now about the pearls. You should be able to get more pearls than is needed in the game. If my memory serves me right, you need 30 pearls for the space-engine. You still need 11 pearls, so I'll give some advice on where to obtain the needed amount of pearls. The first place to go is definitely the top of the vulcano. You take the Beluga and then go into the crater, drop the hovercraft there and enter the cave for lots and lots pearls. I don't know how many, but if you're still short of pearls, here's what you can do:

1. Go to the Akuda Bar and play against the shark in the airdisc-game. You can play two times in the game against him for two pearls, the second time is harder though and probabaly requires practice.

2. Have you found all four the Looter's Caves for a total of four pearls?

3. Have you finished all four races for a total of four pearls?

If this is not sufficient, remember to buy a pearl detector if you haven't got one yet, and then check your map for locations on the remaining pearls.

Thanks for your suggestions - I have all the pearls you mentioned and I also have a pearl detector. My concern is that it doesn't seem as if there are enough pearls left out there to make up my 11 pearl deficit. All but one of the pearl slots in my inventory are filled up - doesn't that mean that there is only one pearl that I'm missing? But I'm still so short of having enough to buy the space engine. Could this be a horrible game glitch?

I've never heard of a glitch like this. But your map should indicate whether or not there really is only one more pearl to collect. But by the sound of things, my guess is that we're talking about a glitch here. Anyone else has a thought on this?

Hmmm, on my third time through the game this happened, LizziSF, did you by any chance go through the slaughterhouse before Looter's Cave 1?
