For anyone who doesn't know, SurferGirl is a game industry insider, and her blog regularly covers topics ranging from canceled games to industry politics. I read another game industry blog called 'Game Set Watch', and since SurferGirl is a reliable source of 'dirt' Game Set Watch occasionally mentions some of her revelations. As you can see, on her post for November 1st she reveals that "Ubisoft Montpelier is working on Beyond Good & Evil 2". I understand if people are skeptical, but, since I've followed her blog in the past, I feel fairly confident that this is the real deal. Also, here's the Game Set Watch story:

Anyway, I was pretty excited, so I just wanted to share. Can't wait...

Even though the latest rumours have been promising I wouldn't exactly call it "semi-confirmed" just yet.

Update: On November 10th Surfer Girl updated her blog claiming "BG&E2 is coming is PS360Wii". I'll take that to mean that the game is being developed for 360, PS3 and Wii. I know a lot of people wanted this to be a Wii game, but personally, I'm glad to hear its coming to the Xbox360, as well.

I wanted to see it as a Wii game because the potential for some awesome Di-jo action with the Wiimote is there. That and the fact that it's a Wii that I have, and I have no intention of getting a PS3 or XBox 360.

That said, I'll be glad if BG&E2 comes, regardless. If it is cross-platform, it won't use the Wii to its fullest, but I'll be happy to have it nonetheless.

At this point, I am "guardedly optimistic" that a sequel is actually in the works, but I am holding off on celebrating until there is an actual announcement from Ubi.

Surfer Girl is known for giving sketchy info and it is with that in mind I refuse to get excited unless Ubisoft announce it.

A sequel? O RLY?

I wouldn't get my hopes up however there is information to suggest the possibility of a sequel. In addition to the surfer girl info there are reports that Michael Ancel has left ubisoft and is currently working on a project. And I think its a bit odd that the subject of Jade would come up in the Nintendo Power interview right after Ancel says he is working on a project that means alot to him where the 'foundation is immersion and a sense of incredible journey'. If you ask me hes pretty much describing BG&E.

Source? Again, there is nothing indicating that Ancel has left Ubisoft and if he has, he couldn't be working on BGE2 since it's a Ubisoft license.

That is correct. I think that Ancel leaving Ubi would be about the worst news we could possibly get (as far as BG&E2 is concerned).

Yes Yes your right that was just a rumor I read on another thread on this forum. I cant remeber which one.
