Take my word for it Denden, I've been there (Spending 60+ editing hours) working of video projects while in college. You'll eventually have more than enough free time. So unless you have a specific deadline for the film to be finished, be patient with it and take your time.

Shanui, I actually thought about recording it. Pocket PC was on my person the whole time, I just was too furious to whip it out and hit record. Would have been easy, and I wish I would have done it. But no matter, aI don't want anything extra to remind me of the place, I just want out at this moment.

I move back to school in 2 days. I can't wait, I miss all of my friends and I always look forward to hanging around campus. Should be an interesting final year, I'm going to hate to see it all go.

First day of classes, right here. I've been busy for a while.

Hey Denden, it's not obsession, it's complete passion. That's the way I look at it. When you're passionate about something (or someone) it consumes your constant thoughts. It's all normal, it only means it'll be that much better.

Thunderpants, your thoughts? New school or same old? Man, I can't wait to get back into the college mix. I just spent a few hours packing up some stuff and cutting the fat on some of my stuff from last year. I need to take less, I always populate my room with tons of stuff. I was thinking the whole time how I'll be back at school in a few days. More packing to do tomorrow, after I finish my absolute final day for all time at the theater. I wish I had it off, need the extra time to pack.

Next week the first three days of university, but it's more of an introduction than real classes. The Students' Association will demand a good amount of my time as well.

When I wake up, I"ll load stuff into my truck then move back into college for one more year. Not sure what kind of internet access I'll have, because I may not be allowed to my room until Friday, so I'll probably live like a hobo for a few days.

Editing went well today. My guess is that we've completed about 60% of the movie in editing. We have to film next saturday, the remaining 40% of what we need. After that, I think it's two more days of work. One more editing day and one more day for the music and final touches.

Bring less stuff. Trust me.

Sound advice indeed, Thunderpants. I tried to take less this year, and I think I was successful, but I'm still pretty loaded. The main problem for me is that my roomate for the last 4 years lives in Montana, which is about a 20 hour drive, maybe even more. Needless to say, he can't bring much big stuff, so I have to supply the fridge, furniture, tables, ect. I'm out of luck there, so I gotta bring extra amounts of stuff.

So I'm back, and glad to be here. I wasn't allowed back in my dorm until Friday, so now I'm hanging with my friends in their house off campus. It's been great times allready, looking forward to the year.

So, the first days of university are behind me now. No college yet, I don't understand. Others already have college, but not the students of English. Pretty weird, but I got to know my fellow students a bit, and it's party at the student association/organization/corps/fraternity(pick one, I really don't know) the entire month. I went there yesterday evening and the day before. It was great, I also got some people to watch Kristof Creen, Support and Slap Stuk already, it's really cool. I might go again this evening, because this evening we can all sit down and chat. Last night all of the corps' disputes presented themselves. I had some big laughs, there's even one dispute with a communist theme. But it's nothing serious. I think I'll join the Sofa dispute(every wednessday we all sit on a sofa to relax) and a free dispute with all sorts of people. Other disputes have some kind of political theme, I just want to have fun.

Tomorrow and/or Staurday, I'm probably going to edit the upcoming Wilkmeijer Productions film "Tension"(see banner). Jup, I've started promoting it a tiny bit, even though I've got nothing to show you yet.

Schools back in full swing here. I've barely been here, and already have gone on a 'night mission,' a recon of sorts, if you will. I'm shooting for a 3.0 or better for this semester; I need the good grades.


On the topic of recons, in army class we practiced doing such, and I have to say I'm dissapointed with the girls I ended up doing it with. I was low-crawling, avoiding snapping twigs, moving in a way to not draw peoples periphrial vision to my position, and there they were tip-toeing around like 5 year olds trying to avoid waking their parents! Thank God they aren't 11B's.

In other news, I turned 20 today.

Denden, isn't it great seeing others enjoying your work? I love presenting my stuff to others. It gives me great enjoyment to see people smile as a result of my work.

So I'm a bit confused. I know in most places outside the US, what we know as college is known as university. However, Denden you said that you've been a week into university, yet no college yet. So, is university where you live, and college meaning the classes?

I know what you mean about not being around here much, college is sucking away my free time as well, and my visits to the forums have decreased significantly. It's unfortunate, but I gota do it. Just one year to go.

Lynx, I mean classes, yes. In Dutch, we call classes "college". The university is "universiteit". But it's good you told me, I'm studying English after all.

If this forum has proven anything to me, it's the fact that our differences are quite interesting. We've had forum members from all over the world. For awhile, there was no country that had a majority of members, we were all from different parts of the world equally. I enjoy learning the differences, it's expanded my view on things. Thanks for clearing up the college/university thing. Here in the states, College is used as a general term, covering both the environment, and the classes we attend.

News on Tension:

Well, there are only a few scenes left. The whole climax still needs to be edited, and that's not easy. If you're ever get to see the movie, you'll understand why. Tension has some of the most complicated scenes I ever worked on in editing. There are a lot of potential continuity errors we have to get out of the raw footage, and some continuity errors can't be taken out. This is where the consequences of our inexperience as script writers and directors show themselves. But if you look past the mistakes, I do think this might be better than everything I(and we(Ervee and I) for that matter) did before. I think we'll need three full days of work on this to finish it entirely. I hope we'll get it done!

11B = infantry. In other news, there is some sort of gun dealer/terrorist on campus right now. I am not ****in' kidding! We are all on lockdown! And I am being serious, here. No bull**** going on whatsoever.


UPDATE: Turns out it was a whackjob from town with a vendetta against a student. The police gave him a good talking to at his house. Naughty, naughty! Man, this place can be shady!

Looking forward to Tension, Denden. Sounds like you're putting a ton of work into this, and if your progression in ability and talent from recent projects tells me anything, then this should be a great film.

Thunderpants, that gun situation is nuts. How do you end up in these things? Good thing they busted that guy before things got worse.

So lets see, what's been going on... My roomate built an arcade. He's running MAME on a dedicated PC with 5,500 arcade games on it, and he build a 3.5 foot wide control deck with authentic joysticks and buttons on it (able for 4 players, plus a track ball in the center). It has been the source of MUCH time wasting. It's killing me, we keep staying up real late playing games. I'll get pictures soon to show you guys.

I saw Flyboys today, I'll try and get a review up soon.

Went to a LAN party last night, got to bed at 6 am. I've been gaming a lot recently, but not half-life 2. I haven't touched counter-strike in a few months, and we played it extensivly. I didn't do too bad, ending up at 3rd on one map. Later though we switched to half-life 2 deathmatch, my "ultimate game", if you will. In my prime, I could jump onine and be in first place within 5 minutes, no exaggeration. I learned how to toss grenades and switch to the gravity gun, snatching the nade up before it hits the ground, thus giving me a personal grenade launcher. I call it the grav-nade. It gives me an edge because I mastered timing the throws. So, we played a game last night, and it turns out, I still have it. I won by almost 20 kills. Good stuff.

And in other news, I met a girl, and I like her. What will happen? Details, tonite at 11.

An arcade sounds pretty cool, thankfully I know a gamesshop not far from the students' assocation where I can also play free arcade games if I want. I played Metal Slug there the other day, brilliant game. I think I'll buy the special Wii-version that will be coming out in the future.

Tension is proggressing very well at the moment. All the video material is finally edited, all that remains is the music and some sound effects. That's equally important, of course. I also want to make a trailer, but that's not entirely certain. In any case, I'm happy about the edited footage. The movie runs about 8 or 9 minutes.

So yeah, I haven't been here in like forever.
I haven't played on the Xbox or PC in awhile either. Sad, eh?
It's because I just have too much. XO
