I have watched a lot of movies lately. Batman Begins, Sin City, War of the Worlds, A.I., Requiem for a Dream, A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy are a few, all were good or even amazing. But the movie I saw last night was truly amazing, not once this year did I see a movie that brought me such joy as seeing the movie I saw last night. Finding Neverland made me so happy, the wonderful fantasy in this movie all seemed so familiair. It reminded me of when I was a kid, when I dreamed of amazing worlds, flying through it, doing things grow-ups didn't do anymore. This movie really reminded me of those days, and that makes it the the best movie I've seen in a long time.

i'm afraid i can't second that motion about Neverland. I admire you for enjoying it and i think it's good to see you're still in touch with your inner child, but i'm not even considering seeing it...

but i can back you about War of the World, Sin City, Hitchhickers Guide and A.I.... you've seen some good films recently, it seems. I had the delight of going to see Fantastic 4 the other day... well, i tell you one thing. they did good character development, like all of marvels films have done. But the fact that they are turning every comic that ever hit a second copy into a film is getting on my nerves slightly because the storylines are really awful... after a while it wears off and i decide that it's part of the fun really (like Die Hard is so craptactular).

Mwahahahaha! i have notifications on! (thanks again to Jasmine for helping with that! Big Grin) now i can whore the forums at all hours!

I have gone and seen THREE movies the entire summer: Star Wars 3, Batman Begins, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory just yesterday. My thoughts on Charlie: Kiddie grade horror movie. I personally had a blast going through Tim Burtons imagination, but at the same time it felt just a little freaky.

Besides, it's a nice place. i've been wanting to go there for years, now i've got an excuse.

I'm so pissed that they are only showing the Dutch spoken version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the cinema in my city. Even that stupid Herbie: Fully Loaded is in English there. But it didn't matter much, because I decided to go to Hitchhiker's Guide instead and I had a blast(Monty Python in space, that's the best description I can give). But I will still buy Tim Burton's take on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when it's released on DVD.

The last couple of days I've been busy writing a story, a BG&E story. I felt like writing stories again like I used to do when I was little, and I decided to write the story of BG&E with my own input. With source material like the speedrun that was posted on the internet, the strategy guide and of course the game itself(which I have finished six times now), I can stay true to the original story as much as possible, but I want to make it more extensive and make changes in dialogue to keep it fresh. It's really diffult to write a story, but my head is filled with ideas and I really want to do it. I'm also writing it in english, so I have to look in the dictionary fairly often. Then there's the research, because my memory is really terrible, so I'll have to check the speedrun and strategy guide(with handy maps of all locations)often to make good descriptions of everything. I have reread the six pages of text I have written so far, and already I saw a few mistakes(spelling errors or faulty descriptions of environments). I'm learning as I go, and I hope I have the willpower to continue this story which I'm currently quite enthusiastic about. Don't expect to see anything soon, I want to keep the mistakes at a minimum so it will take a long time before I'm satisfied.

I am just loathing the idea of going back to school. College is so much harder on the mind than seeing how many cookies I can fit in my mouth. Or climbing on things Im not supposed to climb on. I cant help it, I like to climb on things!

I just can't get enough of Stephen King movies and miniseries. I think they're the best. Of course they're based on his best-selling books, but I like to watch these movies and miniseries so much. I grew up watching Stephen King's It numerous times, I still think it's one of the best miniseries I've ever seen. Yesterday evening, I saw Rose Red for the second time, although it wasn't quite as good as Tommyknockers or It, it was really enjoyable, and it certainly had it's moments. The TV-series Kingdom Hospital was also very cool, it had me laughing and excited many times. I just love Stephen King, his books and the movies/series based on it. I hope the miniserie of The Shining will appear on TV soon, haven't seen that one yet. Of course I've seen the classic movie with Jack Nicholson numerous times, those creepy twin girls always scared the hell out of me.

Great film. If you haven't read the book(s) Denden, I highly recommend them. VERY funny. The film covers the first, and part of the second book (5 in all). They're a great read.

Ah, come on thunderpants! We climb on things AT college. Late at night when nothing's going on, we like to go out and see how many buildings we can get on top off without the use of any sort of ladder. We stay away from the administration building for good reason. It's good clean fun for the whole dorm room!

Angry Blue Guy .... well, up to you dudes to figure out which you want, if either at all. and i saw a few movies recently. the island which was quite good. talks about the ethics and morality of human cloning in the near future. also saw deuce bigalow european gigolo... that was funny... not great, but funny. oh yeah, saw wedding crashers too... THAT WAS FUNNY... can't help but feel sorry for vince vaughn throughout the entire movie.

I do wanna read the books, the book is almost always better than the movie. And there were these people behind me, who were complaining about how the movie wasn't nearly as brilliant as the books.

Sin City was definately one of the best movies I've seen this year, and A Dame To Kill For was my favourite part of the movie. Mickey Rourke is so cool. The Island looks like a movie I will have a hell of a time with sitting at home in front of the television, with dolby surround on, but not worth going to the cinema for. As for Deuce Bigalow, I don't think this movie is going to be as funny with jokes about the Dutch as Austin Powers in Goldmember was. The Wedding Crashers is a movie I wanna see too. I love Owen Wilson, and Vince Vaughn was also great in Starsky and Hutch. The trailer I saw in the cinema made me laugh, doesn't happen that much with trailers. Speaking of which, did anyone see the trailer for Disney's CG-animated movie? I can't remember the name of it, but the trailer was pretty awful. Everybody in the cinema was laughing, but I thought it was trying to be TOO hard to be funny. Ah, now I remember the name. The movie is called Chicken Little. The only thing I thought when I saw the trailer for it, was how Disney is now trying to immitate Pixar. And I was thinking about the sequels they're going to make of the old Pixar movies. I just hope they won't proceed with that, it just wouldn't be the same. I'm still giving this movie a chance, but I don't expect Disney's CG-animated movies to be nearly as brilliant as the Pixar movies.

You hit the nail on the head, Denden. Chicken Little has failed to impress me - on both a comical/storytelling side and a technical side - since I saw the first trailer. In my eyes, Disney doesn't know what they're doing with computer animation. They've got an amazing past with traditional animation, and the best partnership of all time with Pixar. Because of those two, they feel that they can compete in the computer animation market no problem. We'll see how it turns out, but I don't think it'll be pretty (and you guys can expect me to report on the results)

I've noticed that CG films are quickly surpassing traditional animated films. There are currently 5 in the works that are at trailer level for computer animation - Cars, Valiant (expect a review friday morning), Chicken Little, Barnyard, and Ice Age 2. How many traditional animated films are on the way? As far as trailers that we're running at the theater, none. Now, for me this is good news. I love CG films, and as far as being a potential career, the more the merrier. But what do you guys think about this seemingly unstoppable transition to CG? I think we're going to see many hit or miss films coming up, and when they miss, they'll miss hard. If I start seeing many rehashed and garbage CG films, it will ruin the experience for me a little.

And Disney really does need to stop with production on toy Story 3, but they won't. They've been pitching stories and begun working on it. John Rhatzenberger (yikes, spelling...) the voice of Hamm, school of fish, underminer, PT flea, and someone in Monsters Inc, can't think of who, has announced that he will NOT be in Toy Story 3. He shows up in every Pixar film, and he told Disney that if Pixar is not involved, than he is not involved. So the voice talent is allready off from the amazing orginal films. (BTW, Toy Story 10th anniversery DVD comes out in Sept. buy it, it's gonna rock!) Disney also announced that they have plans for a Toy Story 4... talk about milking a series. Hopefully Iger can put a stop to this nonsense, Disney isn't what they used to be...

Computer Animation rant over.

oh, and a side note to reply to Dom. I'll probabluy go for the Lithographs. I preordered The Incredibles and got a set of Lithos, one of which I framed and hung on my wall. I love those things, and Sin City is a film that's stylish enough to warrent such an item.

I also love CG very much, especially Pixar succeeds to impress me on every level with every single movie they made so far. I will definately buy that Toy Story DVD, the original one had little extra's. It will be a neat addition to my collection of CG movies.

Well, Lynx, have you scaled the side of a five-story brick building, straight up? Better yet, have you scaled the wall of a cliff? Howabowt the inside of the Math and Science hall atrium? Howabout the side of your own house? Have you ever just decided to climb up the storefronts in the mall? Have you ever used the back entrance to the Santa display only to be subsiquently chased off by the mall cops? Thats the sort of thing I mean. Ive been called a miscreant and a troublemaker before, I do not agree. I am good person with rules in mind, all of the time! Big Grin

Well, believe it or not, I can answer yes to some of those thunderpants. I've WATCHED my friends climb up a 4 story building vertically on the wall, I've climbed with friends onto the roof of our library, 35 feet up. We've climbed on weird statue things outside our science hall, and climbed to infiltrate our science hall's balcony thing. I can't climb my house back home, it's 2 stories with no way up without a ladder. Trust me, I've tried (unless one was to climb the closest tree and make a 7 foot jump to the house, grab to roof's edge and pull yourself up. I however am not up to that challenge. I enjoy life.) We haven't been chased by mall cops, but we have been chased by campus security - which in turn is basically the same thing. Heres a few shots so I can put my money where my mouth is:

Obviously, I don't take flash photography once we get on roofs and such, attracting that kind of attention is the last thing we need.

BTW for more of my computer animation rants and my words regarding Pixar, Disney's CG house and other such important matters, make sure and check out my Valiant review tommarow night. (it's too late, I need sleep because I open tommarow/today morning. I'll hopefully write it tonite.)

I'll be waiting for your opinion about Valiant, I want to know if my feelings about this movie just from watching the trailer are correct. Of course, I'm also watching IMDB, as I always do.

Awesome! Ive also been chased by campus security, for reasons I shall not disclose here. I have to say, though, even with their pickup trucks, spotlights, and whatnot, they are rather incompitent. There was a number of us, we were loud, and they had freakin' spotlights on their trucks, and they couldnt find us! But anyway, those are some sweet pics. Be sure to keep at it, and dont get caught in your acts of debauchery.
