In Freeform, you talk about anything. I mean absolutely anything (within the rules, of course). Random neuron firings. Just pwned some n00b from accounting? tell us about it here. want to rant about something that's getting to you? here's you place. Want to tell us about your theories of the universe? Tell away! Maybe you want to discuss how the government psychicly controls us through grass. You'll probably dissappear overnight without a trace, but this thread is here if you want to take the chance... Just be random! You'll be surprised how good it can be.

Rules of Freeform:
1. Please refrain from anything offensive. if something is bugging you, then get it off your chest and be honest, but try to do it in a communtity friendly way. Remember that other people will still be reading what you post. maybe.
2. Don't think too much about what you type. Obviously make it legible but don't worry too much about it being relevant or on topic.
3. Random firings do NOT mean spam. Don't post things like 'please only type posative integers for the next 5 posts' or 'SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM!' becuase you'll look like a fool who doesn't have anything useful to contribute.

So, the Lostprophets. They are a ****ed awsome band IMO. You have to check out some of their stuff. I know you may look at a music band link and think "*shrug*, don't have time for that...", but you really should check this band out. They might just be awsome...

OK, what the hell are you doing BUYING 3D software? Get Blender. That does all you could ever want from a 3D package, including rendering and animation. plus it's really easy to learn. i can't believe people still buy 3D packages. so lame...

also, it was brought to my attention the other day that the member N9cedoggy (i know him as FutureFish) was banned for reasons that arn't quite clear to me. i'm going to do some research and see why he was banned, and if it was justifyed.

Well, I've checked out Blender before (which is a good open source version almost idential to Maya.) But I need to buy for two main reasons.

1. I'm not a fanboy that want's to screw around with 3D. I'm building for a career. I want to learn on animation master, most of which because Victor Navone is one of the contacts that's helping me, and he directly recommends AM, as well as that being the software package that he taught himself computer animation on. To build a demo reel, I would much rather submit one with official, purchased software rather than open source material. (Despite the software package being used doesn't matter, I still wish to go this route.) I plan on submiting my reel to some big names, but mostly to try and get an internship at Pixar next summer. Don't get me wrong, I love open source - I'm a huge fan of Open Office, and I'm learning Linux, but I'm sticking to my guns on this one.

2. I'm on a dial up modem, connecting at an average of 40 kps. Not a speed that's going to deliver large files too hastefully to my PC.

Ok, so I checked Blender's site, and it combined with the raytracing renderer yafray was a collective 6.2 megs. So that nullifies reason number two.

hehe, i've seen that alien video before... very good, but could have made it better in blender. Trust, Blender is capable of imagery and animation that matches the likes of the film industry. that's why i'm usingit for (potential) BG&E music videos. but, if you want to spend $200 on a program, that's up to you. i understand your reasoning.

Im a max man myself, but to start learning Im recomend Truespace...theres normaly a free version of 4 on magazine CD's.
It does everything Blender does (except games), but the interface is wayyyyy more standard.

Plus its only 4MB.
Very easy to give to people.

Right, I agree. I said that before trying Blender, I looked at two screenshots and noticed the float menu looked like Mayas, but I then downloaded blender after posting that, and found that I was wrong. (Nice to see a Max man around, I messed around with Max in high school, it was good stuff) I'll check out truespace, I'll google it up.

Dom, Lacuna Coil is good too, but I haven't heard much Atreyu. Only a song or two. Recommend any in particular?

Finally (and going back to the topic header), i was watching the Matrix the other day, going through some of my old DVDs and stuff, some of them i've seen, most i haven't. The Matrix will always be a classic for me. Thoroughly enjoyable, and really mind blowing. I also watch Kill Bill volume 2 - for the first time. that was a brilliant film. i thought that the first one was good, but this was just so well crafted and so well writen that it completely blew me away. I was quite indifferent to quinten tarrentino, but now i get the impression that he's a very clever guy...

I've reached disc 5 of my 10-disc Ultimate Matrix-collection, it's the Matrix Revolutions disc. It's very interesting to watch all of the extra's, especially of you're such a fan like me. Very fascinating are the commentary-tracks, all three Matrix-movies has two of them. One is done by philosophers, which is interesting because of their thoughts behind everything and because they see the trilogy as a whole. Therefore they're fond of the sequels as well. The other commentary track is done by three film-critics, which is also very interesting because of their criticism throughout Reloaded and especially Revolutions. They point out things that I didn't even thought of. But after listening to them for six hours, I'm just glad that I am not such a critic. I'm glad I can even enjoy Revolutions, even when I find myself agreeing a lot with the film-critics. Tomorrow I think I'm gonna watch Revolutions again with the philosopher's commentary track and hear what (undoubtedly) interesting things they have to say about this wonderful piece of entertainment. I love the Matrix franchise. I love seeing that box on top of my tv with the Neo-figurine and all three original DVD's on top of it along with the Animatrix and Enter the Matrix. Just need to find Matrix Revisited, I heard that there are a few extra's from that DVD not included in the Revisited version in the ultimate box. I was caught by surprise a few days ago when I found a Trinity and Tank figurine at the local gameshop for only 2.50â"š¬ a piece. Why, isn't that nice of them? I hope I can continue enjoying the entire Matrix franchise, and keep collecting wonderful Matrix related stuff. It's just a shame that Matrix Online is too expensive and Path of Neo is not on GameCube, things like that just make me wanna cry...

Anyway, in other news: tomorrow I'm going to the shop where I work, and buy a wonderful Beyond Good & Evil Strategy Guide that my collegue ordered.

How I found out:

Me: I wonder if there's a strategy guide for this game...
Colleague: There is, I have ordered one and it came it came in today.
Me:
Colleague: Want me to get it?

I didn't bring any money that day(saturday it was), so tomorrow(monday) I'm going to buy it, along with a Wind Waker guide. It will be nice to read through these things, just for fun. And it will be a big help in the Wind Waker to find the last pieces of heart and all of the creatures to shoot a picture of.

Seven days from now I'm going away for a three week-vacation to South France, I was planning to get me some real literature, but these strategy guides will do even better. And yes, I think it's great fun to read through a strategy guide, especially if it's a guide of a great game.

1. hey, bitey. seeing as you so "efficiently" closed the topic about On Topic and Off topic being mixed together, i would like to ask, politely... why exactly, canwe not have two seperate catagories? it would probably help to neaten things up. hell, i'd do it myself if... no, i won't even suggest that. but still... it would really be of great benifit. i've been thinking about it for a while and would it really be so hard to just start moving topics into another area? hmm...

2. I i like the sound of SoaDs new album. It's sounds pretty fab. i mean, c'mon... it's SoaD! i'm gonna go listen to it again.

ha! sorry for the long wait... forgot about this topic... um... yeah there's some good songs like "Lip Gloss and Black", "Crimson", "You Give Love a Bad Name" (it's a remake, but really cool), "Right Side of the Bed"... really alot of their stuff is really good... it's really hardcore, but the drummer does the melodic singing of the chorus and stuff. i just saw them again on the 3rd at the Warped Tour in Ventura, CA.
