Heya there. Nice to see this forum still chugging along Smile.

Anyway, straight to the point; a Garry's mod forum member extracted the Jade model from BG&E with the intention of rigging it, but he gave up after he found out that it was too difficult, or too time consuming or whatever. I chased him down and asked if he could send me the model, at which point he linked me to the uploaded file >> Linky.

Now, i could work out how to rig it, which i probably will do in time, just as a hobby. However, for now i am no expert, and i know that Lynx is. Anyone else who wants to give it a tackle is also welcome. I dunno whether you're up for it lynx, but i hope you are, because it would be rather interesting to see what you can do. Smile

I should also mention that there are no bundled textures with this model, i'm currently waiting on him to send them to me.

Ahh, well this is quite the interesting endevour.

You don't need to ask me to know that I'm interested, there's just two small problems:

- My time, as I'm sure you've realized at this point, is extremely limited. I literally live each day by individual minutes. A project like this could take some time. But I'm willing to give it a shot.

-I don't have 3DS Max. Do you know if Blender can import 3DS models? If so, let me know, I need to learn how to rig in Blender.

Good to hear from you again Phil, I await a response.

Blender can import .3DS models (not .max models though), but i've tried it and it can't import this specific one. You're gonna need to find another program that does import, and then maybe exports again afterwards. My suggestion would be XSI, purely because it popular for HL2 modding and as such is a widely used program, which at least suggests that it must be good. I also know for a fact that it can import 3DS models.

I've dabbed around with XSI way back in the day, so I may try that. Trying Blender will be the first option tho, since I allready have it.
