We already knew that BG&E2 was still in preproduction for at least the duration of Rabbids Go Home's development, so I'm not sure this is quite as bad as it sounds.

Dudes, chill out. This game is being made by Michel Ancel. Michel ancel also works on Rabbids Go Home. BG&E2 is/was in pre-production, rabbids in full. They're preparing for the Rabbids Go Home release in November, then they'll resume Beyond Good & Evil 2, I'm sure.

"On hold" all too often turns into "canceled" later on, remember BG&E 2 was already put "on hold" for the King Kong game. This isn't good news at all, but it does explain why they never officially announced the sequel.

UBI soft didn't conform any thing if you get it from here gamespot just tell every body why this shiny title that can make some people ****ed

In an interview with Gamekult a spokesman of Ubisoft said, that the development wasn't halted and that they are still working hard on the title.

Seriously, what the hell is Ubisoft doing? First Ancel and his team have "complete freedom" to make BG&E 2 the game they want it to be, then it's suddenly on hold, and now this source says it's definitely still in development and hasn't been put on hold at all. If this is any indication of how Ubisoft is going to market BG&E 2 (if it even appears) then it's going to fail miserably (yet again).

Essentially Gameskult contacted Ubisoft on their own and asked for clarification regarding the mixed signals coming from Ubisoft about the state of the project. The person they talked to assured them that BG&E 2 is still scheduled for release and that development on the title is ongoing and has not been halted.
