Honestly, how young do you think it takes to make oil? By the time that plant you just made becomes fuel.... we would have evolved into a different species. BTW dead plants make coal and I think we're talking about oil here.

Also, that photo doesn't show it's renewable....It just shows plankton make oil. What makes the plankton? When oil is burned, how does that make more plankton which make more oil?

you do realise that he was joking about the time machine? and also drilling our own oil would vastly decrease the cost of oil, because if you think about it they have to ship the oil here and that costs money along with how cheap and easy it would be to drill for our own oil

And the Oil Crisis is a good thing and bad thing, Oil will cost so much, Countries will have to spend money on Solar, Wind, And Nuclear Power. No for real though, The Planet is in a natural state of warming, us humans are speeding up the process, so if we speed up the process too much well be plunged into an Ice Age by 2150. There have been no hurricanes this season (Only 1 Tropical Depression and if it becomes a Hurricane it would be a category 1 ZOMG minor wind damage and minor flooding) . Florida Has ALWAYS been hot, (Ive lived here my whole life) The Ice Sheets are melting cause of The Natural state of warming + human pollution, and we cant reverse the process but we can slow down theit down since it naturally takes thousands of years. And no, The biggest Ice melting records in history is a little far shot dontcha think...I guess your meaning Human History cause in the past few million years there have been way worse things than this.

It might be a BAD thing if there are nor Hurricanes when normally there is at least one.
Also, I live in Westchester, NY, and I don't know if I can speak for the rest of you in the area or in different places through-out the world, but we've been experiencing weird weather lately. i.e. Frequent thunderstorms, minor flooding, stop and go rain that lasts for days. I can't remember seeing these things a lot but they seem to be happening quite often now.

Yes and thats the problem! Regardless of how long it takes for the Earth to warm or if it even happens, we are causing rises in temperature like we've never seen. So even if does happen naturally, the levels we are seeing are unnatural. So we need to reduce CO2 emissions to the normal level again.
