I understand exactly what you're saying mugglewump, it sounds very similar to the thoughts and general principles for Hitlers "Super-race".... the general belief that Aryans(white people, caucasians, etc.) have a superior brain and body and that they are destined to rule the world because they were the ones that have pioneered so many advancements. At least that is my interpretations of what you are saying. I could very well be wrong, but that is what I am hearing.
Based on what my understanding is, I think you are wrong. Europeans(greeks and romans included) merely mimicked various other cultures, and added a small twist of their own. They merely took a great thing, and made it a little better. The germans took the plane, and added a jet engine to it.... or a bullet, and substituted rocket fuel for gunpowder and created the missile. Many great things have come from europeans, but not so much that it outdoes any other race, culture, or country. And America did have a majority of european immigrants in the beginning, but it didn't take very long at all for Asian, Russian, African, and even South Americans to not only even that out, but turn the caucasian into an equal ethnicity, or minority even..... There was a time when "whites" made up a good 60% of the USA, but now it is much closer to 25-40% now. And the great inventions and new things coming from America are not purely caucasian made... many of those things have been pioneered and created by people who just recently immigrated. The A-bomb was made by a bunch of "liberated" german scientist with a mix of Americans.  |

No. During the last Ice Age people walked from Asia to North America through the Bering Strait. So Native Americans are still immigrants, whether they like it or not.  |

I know that it sounds bad and i didn't think of the arean race but still it is mostly people on the main colecion of continets (europe asia minaly) that have created most of it like the chinese and the europeans.due to immagration it came over to america As much as it sucks it is kinda ture. dude, were argueing this in one of my classes. Because of christianity influenced the rise of capitalism which pushed everybody in europe for wealth by inventing new and improved ideas so that they could make their own person freedoms.
and then their was a lot more resources in Europe than the rest of the world but mainly the rise of christianity and its influence on capitalism did the biggest part. |

here is why the "white areas" of the world are dominate because they have a area where food production was easier back in the day; you cant go into higher level stuff in less you have the basic needs meet. if you look at other areas of the world most of them are north-south not east-west; is is a change of longitude going north or south causes major changes to climate and plants that will grow. also (as i noted in my earlier post) europeans had a larger number of grains and domesticatable(is that a word?) animals making food stuffs more easily created. with food supplies that can be produced in the same area ended the need to be on the move all the time. food was now more plentiful and more assured limiting the times of famine that often happens as a Hunter-gatherer society. a boom in population and the decreased need for manpower on food production allowed other less essential areas of life to be worked on such as work with metal or fabrics. after this it is mostly self explanatory better fabric production means more unused labor which can be used in what ever.....
also genetically there is more area dedicated to determining the curve of our teeth then the color of our skin. |

well becuz christianity pushed and looked at the future and look so does capitalism of gaining wealth, which made every body want to come up with new ideas to become rich!
there was also a lot of personal freedom with christianity, u just had to be christian |

Most of you guys have things that are correct, but I am pretty sure the difference is that of how they conducted war.
The "Native" North Americans were primarily hunters and did not usually settle down, which prevented much advancement. The South Americans did settle down, but their war usually was for religous purposes (human sacrifices) so they did not need much technology to get a good result. Another factor could be horses. Horses are not native America and were only brought by the Spanish (as far as i know). Horses made the African/Asian/European armies think in mobility as well as power, so they made many advances in the area of mobility. One more factor is that the Americans didn't fortify their cities, so gundpowder would have been useless to them even if they had discovered it. If you don't like any of those ideas, the Europeans were probably the most war-like humans ever, and wars create more advances than peace (nuclear power, most metals, practical planes, space travel and safe medical practices.)
