How about the simple fact that the U.S. went to war with Russia to begin with?
The U.S was already at war with one superpower, but because Russia invaded a smaller country we decided to go to war with anothr superpower..
Sure, yeah, we don't take kindly to nations taking over other nations here in the USofA, but we are a little preoccupied at the moment with this whole "invasion of Europe" thing.

The whole storyline is just beyond unrealistic..
Or how about us kidnapping a senior political figure of the EF?
That's something you do to ****-sucker countries with an entire slew of government corruption.
Not to a nation with an otherwise stable government.
Not to mention there was really no political tension before that, with the exception of the French crying about our space staion, but who really cares what the French say?
