i want to know whats your favorite type of strategy? i dont mean what would you do in this situation. i mean what do you prefer to do over all. im a HUGE def guy. in c & c 3 i creat what others call "the wall of death" a massive wall spanning my entire perimiter, 8 or 9 def turrents deep. i laugh at nod. def is what i love to do, even in cod4. some people call it camping, i like to call it defense. i basically tell my clan where to plant their claymores and when to detonate their c4. where to move and when. my basic mind set is this, you cant win if you cant kill my base. some people like to rush, some people like to steam roll, others like to cut off your supply of money and slowy beat you to death. what do you prefer?

hmmm. im probably more of a deep cover kinda guy. like in Cod4 i sneak around the enemy and ambush them from behind. then while they are preoccupied with killing me, the rest of my team will push forward and wipe them out. As for Endwar, i must keep my tactics a secret. Shady

I play the total war games quite a bit and my main tactic is to raise a big army and go for the heart of the rival empire for example London for England, Paris for France etc.
Once I capture there main area and destroy their main army I split my force up and rush the other enemy cities before they can properly reinforce them.

First: Build base and defenses
Second: Build army and attack

I'm using my Command & conquer tactics. Box them in and since I can be bothered clearing them out just hit them over and over again with super weapons.

You do realise there is no building in EndWar? You go in with forces and call for reinforcements.

Im more of a defence guy, i like to build massive defences before i attack, just in case the attack fails and im out of units and money i no that im still safe so i can build my forces back up.

I prefer to ascertain victory on home soil and then decimate the enemy on their own.

I miss playing the C&C demo on the 360....My strategy on that was get a HUGE amount of resources as quickly as possible, then use that to hit the population cap and stay there while I slowly turtle forward with massive amounts of turrets. Then I hang just behind my turrets with those long range guns and wait till my enemy quits..... granted, that was only when the person wouldn't respond to me(had a mic, but didn't use it).......

But I like to play it as safe as possible.

My favourite strategy is to mix things up, confuse people and what not.

But everyone know plans never go as they are supposed to, so I normally end up keeping most of my guys defensive and doing hit an runs with heavy cavalry (I know there won't be any horses in this game but I normally play pre-gunpowder RTS games, and I guess that role would be taken by the Helo's in Endwar, even if they don't strafe).

I tend to build strong defenses in most games that I am able too. However, as you cant build in End War, I think hitting the b***erds fast and hard will do the trick Demonic

I just thought I'd warn you that this thread already exists(Hears a stampede approaching)

Anyway, I am one the most pure defensive player you will meet. I don't advance because there are so many variables on when to advance and when not to. I use my artillary to harass from far away, and wait to have the army dispatch troops to take em out, with me knowing the tanks are waiting on the hill to roll them over. That being said, I do understand the importance of a counter-attack, and that is my only advance.

In C&C3, I usually fortify myself in and then launch hit and run strikes agains the enemy base while slowly building up an unstoppable assault force, then I amass all my units near the enemy base and punch a hole in thier defences with a superweapon strike and order all my troops to attack move to the center of the base. I quickly destroy the construction bldgs and then any unit producing buildings, and mop up any remains.

Well I haven't played a RTS-genre game since the late '90s so I'll probably be developing a strategy as I progress.

My favorite weapons are the elements of surprise and of stealth, so obviously Joint Strike Force will be my faction of choice for their advanced stealth technology.

I assume that I'll make a single squad of ground units be my eyes and ears, Ghosts and Splinter Cell operatives hopefully, and I will spend a lot of my time on that one group. I'll send them out into the field while I hide the majority of my big guns and artillery in one area, not letting them see any action and reserving them for when I really need them.

I'll probably rely heavily on ambushes, decoy traps, guerrilla hit and run, scouting, etc.

Ninety percent of the time I doubt I'll engage an enemy unless I know I can wipe them out before they have a chance to react, and I'll take out all the enemy's small groups before I regroup and send my entire army towards the remaining stragglers for a little showdown.
