I can't divulge the name of the 23mm system however if you want to know it looks nearly identical to the smart machine gun that Vasquez had on Aliens... Also look to a certain back issue from I think 5 years back of popular mechanics.. You will drop your jaw when you read about it's capabilities also among other a digital display which can show you and your squad leader how many rounds you have left. which will feed into your commanders display an exact number of how much loaded ammo his platoons have... Oh did I mention that it can give your vitals to a corpsman via your pistol grip and it wont fire for nobody but you until it is re assigned or keyed.... Negating the enemy's use of it against you....... and it will deliver an incapacitating shock to un- AUTHORIZED personnel..

152mm or 135mm! That would be insane in both good and bad way!

Tanks thanks for serving, Patriot and I are also joining the Marines once we are old enough....

Spart I thought they are replacing the Humvees with the JLTV

That also coupled with the fact that during the GULF WAR tow missles counted for 95% of tank kills for the CORPS.. So greater emphasis has been placed on ushering in the next gen in anti- tank missles such as the javelin and better equiping brigade combat teams to meet next gen armored threats.

Hey thanks for your service. So what ever came about of the research for the MEFFV. But doesn't the LAV have quite a loss rate due to light armor? The only real benefit I see in it is speed and firepower, not protection so much.

Oh and what do you think of the Bushmaster ACR as the next Infantry rifle. Maybe in a differnt caliber?

I'm hoping they replace the Abrams Turret with a EM Railgun.

They just chose the three final contestants and are going to be putting them through more field trials. If you go back a few pages, there should be some post about it. I don't think they are buried too far back. However there has been protest of the final selection by other contestant entries like the one me and Atcams want to win that is designed by Texton/Millen works team. I would think by about 2012 they would be in production unless they get a jumpstart which no program ever does. Razz

maybe the messiah can bring about a budget surplus, and stop feeding the military industrial complex US tax dollars preparing for WW3 that just isn't going to happen anytime soon.

set an example for the G8, instead of showing the rest of them the best way to spend beyond their means and borrow money from china. the US spends money like a broke no impulse control teenage girl with a no limit credit hanging out at the mall.

badly

never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake-Victory belongs to the most persevering-Take time to deliberate, but when time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in- One of the forefathers of the EF,Napoleon Bonaparte.

Well it never hurts to be prepared for future conflicts and we need to give our troops the gear they need. They deserve the best and nothing less. A solution to stop feeding China is to attract business here and make our own products which keeps the money here which in turn can go into things like defense etc.

But anyways, lets try not to get too off track.

the US spends 1 out of every 2 spent globally on the military. no other country comes close. maybe a small adjustment is needed. 500 billion on military spending seems a bit much.

lol people like you and me will never agree on this kind of stuff. That's what makes America.....America. However I do admit there are a lot of useless programs and pork-barrel spending that should be eliminated Wink

So do you have any good tech post? We could use a few.

most everything has been stated. however i am interested to see if the berkut-37 gets picked up at all, or just remains a technology demonstrator.

while big and lacking stealth it's a beautiful agile plane

Winston Churchill: Nancy, if I were your husband, I'd drink it.

Bessie Braddock: Sir, you are drunk.
Winston Churchill: And you, madam, are ugly. But in the morning, I shall be sober.
