In Endwar, We had Command Vehicle, Gunships, Riflemen Ext.....
Now i dont know if everyone will like this idea but here it goes. New Units:AIR - Transport helciopter- Instead of relying on those Ground Trabsports, We could have the helicopers that bring them into the battlefield transport them into battles. Obviously They could not Attack. So there really vunaurable. Normal CP to call them in. - Jets- Now i know jets are in there but they are a support, maybe if we could take them out of support, and put them into the game as a unit. And it Obviously would be very Annoying. So why not make them a Unlockable unit? ( Say when u reach level 8 or 9)And costs 6 CP to call in. They Would be good against Ground Targets, Effective against other Jets, And vaunaurable to SAMS. Ground: -Sams: Well for Sams you can either have them Stationary or movable around the map,Obviously good against Air units. Bad against Ground units. Medics- To me this would be cool, You have a team of Medics who tends wounded soldiers, Patches them up and gets right back out to the battlefield. Effecaitive against Nothing. Vaunarauble against everything. Airborne- Able to drop into the battle anywhere on Reavled Territory, Or If CV Is on the field, Drop anywhere on the field ( 8CP,4CP in Reavled Territory. Effective Againsty: Infantry, and Light Armour, Airborne could also have to have upgrade to have Recolliss Rifles to take out Armour. Sea- Carriers BB LPD's BB's for offshore bombardment or fighting other ships, Lpd's for invasions, and carriers for Jets and Transport Helicopters. There could also be new Support for end war. Some have already been posted. but let me know if this is good or not/ |

I'll agree that the game needs more depth, but i dont think these are the units to achieve it.
- utility helos i would agree with, if the maps were larger. Otherwise transports would do fine. - jets as a unit? wouldnt really work, theyd be zooming around in as tight a circle as they could just to fit in the map... unless im misunderstanding you - SAMs... i dunno, i think the transports filled the anti-air role well enough. - the medic idea might work as an upgrade to a rifleman unit, but I'd rather spend the cp on an extra rifleman unit than a dedicated medic unit. - airborne, i think the deep strike covered this role didnt it? - ive always thought carriers and LPD/LHDs would be a good idea, if naval warfare could be implemented effectively. - dont know about BBs though, theyre outdated nowadays: effective for cheap firepower but short range and inaccurate. The american arsenal ship concept would be more appropriate for the bombardment role. In my opinion, 'strategy' in endwar 1 merely consisted of having youre tanks where their gunships ain't. It had the right idea, a unit cap with no bases or resource-gathering, but i believe the rock-paper-scissors concept needs to be broken open. Ive posted some elsewhere but if i were to add new units id start with: - recon helo/uav. Think kiowa or the recently cancelled ARH70, or make up a uav for the role. Cheap, fast and lightly armed/armoured, is effective for scouting targets and coordinating gunships and artillery. If armed, effective against infantry and not much else. Possibly doubles as infantry transports - 4 to a helo, its possible. Thinking of little birds here. - scout team. Small lightly armed infantry teams, hard to detect, possible upgrade to sniper team. When used well, can keep an eye on enemy units and allow you to prepare an ambush or coordinate offensives and airstrikes. |

If you want more depth all they really need to do is add in "soft" counters to break up the rock-paper-scissors. Things like light and medium tanks, IFV's, and dedicated sniper and machine guns teams would work.
Soft counters are things that do damage to a particular unit but need more than one to actually take down the unit. EX: Command and Conquer - Missile Squads (anti air and to a lesser extent anti armor) vs. tanks Raider Buggies/APC's(anti infantry and to a lesser extent anti aircraft) vs. Aircraft |

If your going to have dedicated Sniper/MG/Missile squads, you need to change the size of Infantry units (20man MG teams = Fail), although that would mean they would have to alter the health system aswell...Which would be a good thing
Engineers could be altered to become missile squads. And Raider Buggies would be great. In realistic terms could be good against tanks on City Maps, not as effective on open maps but there speed could be an advantage. http://www.hasthelargehadronco...oyedtheworldyet.com/

Well those were just examples from Command and Conquer of soft counters, I wasn't suggesting them for units. But one other thing this game needs is armor-facing. A tank/transport should die twice as quickly if its getting attacked from the back and about 1.5x as quickly if its getting hit from the sides. Of course if they implanted this they would have to implant a reverse move command. |

You wouldn't have to add another move command, you can just use standard move command (A/X Button), then whatever direction they move is the direction they face.

I voted needs changes
Transport Helos: Sounds good but I'm not sure if it they would work they may out do ground transports rendering them obsolete. Needs testing in a Beta version maybe. Jets: I say make the air support more customizable not controllable and have more detailed air strike voice commands. (Cluster bombs, Bunker busters, etc) Ground: Check my Air defence unit topic Medics: Not keen on the medics unit but as an upgrade for one of the infantry units is ok I guess. Sea-Carriers: Any naval support would be great |
