A team fanfic is rather different from a regular fanfic. In a team fanfic anyone is welcome to join. We can have 30 characters or more in story is we want to. You are welcome to come and go as you please but I ask that if you wish to quit then please somehow kill off your character. (You may notice some references to Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series. She was my favourite author as a teenager). Generally you make a long post, let a bunch of other people post and then post again. However you can post as much as you want, just try not to double post. Our characters should eventually meet. But don't force it. Ex: I could be fighting in Boston and we get flanked by some American troops. I call for reinforcements. Then Spartas would post and he could be among the troops that flanked us. Then Liberator would be among the reinforcements. And maybe a page before the battle we would all mention a possible battle in Boston. Don't worry it flow and makes more sense when you get ino it.

Oh and if you wish to go off topic you must state it. Just put an OT at the start of the paragraph.

Lavan wasn't always the man he saw today. Often regarded as soulless, hateful and cruel Lan grew to accept these definitions of himself as true. Then again Lan had had a difficult life compared to most people.

When Lan was a child he had always been the subject of violence and hatred. He had friends, many in fact but there was always the same group that seemed to make his life unliveable. So in Gr 10 Lavan waited until the end of the day, and when the coast was clear he attacked his persecutors. He won the fight, actaully he had never lost a fight in his entire life. To say the least his persecutors never attacked him again, in fact he had pushed the physical condition of the "ring leader" into a critical condition. But he was never contacted by the police, parents or the his principle (as if he gave a dam about any of those people). From that day on he was known as FireStorm.

In 2015 Lavan entered University. Though he was an amazing athlete and fighter, What Lavan truly admired was history. Perhaps that's why he was planning to become an archaeologist at the time. Then in 2017, Lans parents died in China when the Democratic revolution took place. Along with 8 million other people Lans parents were shot to death because they were caught in the crossfire of a battle between 500 democratic rebels and 1000 communist loyalists. That war still rages on today. China is now nothing more then a battle ground where tens of millions of people are fighting on both sides of the conflict. Until this day Lan still doesn't understand why his parents had to die. They were there on a humanitarian mission. God no longer played a role in Lans life after this point in time.

In 2018 Lan moved in with his aunt and uncle. True Canadian patriots if you ever saw one. They were also blind to common sense and were swayed by every word of the media. Lan was happy for a year, but then Azure began to grow cold. Azure was Lavans brother, his older brother. The death of Lans parents had made Azure hateful of all hostile forces. It was a blind and dangerous hatred. He joined rally's, He campaigned against politcal leaders, And even began bogging on military websites. Then came the worse moment in Lan's life, The point where The Russians decided to bomb every major Canadian city in Ontario. Over 3000 Canadians were killed and 18 000 more were injured. Lan was in a critical condition for 2 months, Azure was healthy and by his side the entire time. However their guardians were not so lucky. Lan never even went to the funeral ceremony. He couldn't bare it. However Lan found it odd that the Canadian Prime minister was sent to a bunker 15 minutes before the surprise bombers hit, he hid like the rat he is...

When the war began in 2020 Lan was immediately conscripted into the Canadian armed forces, And so was Azure. Azure was anxious, happy even to be able to fight back against those that had made him pay so much. Lavan was less enthusiastic about the entire ordeal. Canadian forces were given an option so to speak. You could join the European or American forces. It was a blind commitment meaning you didn't know whether who was going where, sort of like voting for a president or prime Minster. This was before The EUC and the USA decided to gate each other. So Lan went to fight for EUC and Azure went to fight for the Americans. The last time he was Azure was when they were at home packing their belongings for the journey ahead. 3 weeks later, during Lans training he found out Azure was declared suitable for combat via email. It didnt make much sense but all he knew was Azure was to be sent to the front line of the American-Russian Front in 2 months after some "intense training". Lans own training was intense enough as it was. He was training for 10 hours everyday. He travelled all over Europe. He went to Paris for basic, Germany for accuracy and Italy for stamina.

Lan snapped back to reality. He was standing at the top of stage, in the second row out of 20, each row having 30 people in it. And there were 3 groups of these rows. 1800 recruits were becoming privates. A bittersweet moment. There were over 10 000 people in the audience. Things would never be the same in Lans perspective. Now Lavan Firestorm was fighting for European Federation, not his dignity. And for the first time in his entire life, he was at peace.

Commander BTR74 was riding in his personal MAZ660 King Spider command vehicle, observing his troops advance. It was time to end this madness. The EF was getting way out of hand, arresting Russian civilians out of fear that they may be "spies". The Americans were putting up thier so-called "freedom star" which could covertly disable our missle shield and make us vulnerable to nuclear attack. No, they wont succeed, not as long a BTR stands in their way! "Alright men, we are approaching the EF border. Only shoot at what you know is military, I will not tolerate civilian casulaties. All units get in attack formations!" He said over the radio. The division rolled across the border unopposed and headed staright towards Paris...

Nathan rodriguez was sitting back listening to his ipod in the noisy compartment of the new Army version of the osprey. surrounded by 20 other highly trained Delta members, his only goal today was to try to get some sleep on his scratchy board the army called "a cot". Being born in puerto rico in 1998, he was always surrounded by Beautiful surroundings and women. but like most special forces members, he was raised in a borken home. his father was a tank operator who left when he was 2, and his mom worked 3 jobs to support his 2 other sisters. So being a father figure he quickly learn how to take control and issue orders. probably one of the reasons he became one of the youngest squad leaders in Delta- detachment Squad B

He joined the army right out of high school at the age of 17, and had finished basic, infantry school, airborne, and ranger by his 19th birthday. and had been 1 out of 30 fresh recruits to go through selection for Delta. only 10 made the cut.
After completing the year of selection his C/O made him attend the elit Marine Scout Sniper school. were he finished top of the class. Soon after he was assigned to Delta-Squad B, were he was a weapons sepcialist and their man go to guy when they "needed to reach out and touch someone", and he soon came to the nickname Ra(after the Amun-Ra, who had the all seeing eye). after a fubared mission in iran near the start of WWIII, he was left in command of the remaing Squad B.

Nathan is awoke by a sudden jaring motion of the osprey. by instinct he reaches for his weapon, then realizes they just landed. He grabs his gear and walks to the bay doors. as it lowers he takes ina long deep breathe. smelling the cool crsip air from the english channel. the JSF was about to throw one helll of a surprise party for the EF, and the Horsemen were about to be the main entertainment.

It was a cold morning at Ramstien Airbase, the wind was threatening to blow in rain clouds from the east and with each passing moment in that small room, the silence got that more awkward.

The newly promoted Captain Neve waited anixously with 9 other captains, all with greater combat experience and knowledge than his. Some of them sat and read the magazines layed out on the coffee table, other stared endlessly out the window watching the ground crews prep the jets. The young Captain however repeatedly filled and drank a little plastic cup from the water cooler, each time receiving strange looks from the others. Eventually they were called in to see the base commander.

He sat behind a big oak desk with files neatly stacked in the middle, and when everyone was silent he spoke. He gave a brief introduction and went quickly into the current world affairs, and announced that he believed war was near. This wasn't much of a surprise to the Captains as people had been saying war was near ever since Nato dissolved almost 2 years ago, he then said that they were selected to be among the best and were about to be assigned to a special unit. Most of the Captains upon hearing this developed big grins across their faces, but Captain Neve who was unsure of why he was there asked what the special unit was.

His distinct British accent knocked the smug grins of the others and the commander chuckled. When he stopped, he announced that he thought he was going to be the Brit, and then answered his question telling the Captains that they were to become part of a Rapid Response Unit to be charged with the defense of Europa. He then handed out the files that contained details of the unit, and the PAH-6 Cheetah, their new gunships...

Captain Smilies of the EUC was sitting within his heavily armored command vehicle just outside of Paris when he received word that a Russian battalion was moving in on his position. He barked several orders at his troops to gear up and assume defensive positions within the sheltered city center to be ready for anything they threw at him.

BTRs T-100 MBTs smashed through a line of EF defenses along the Polish border while his Su35BMs shot EF aircraft out of the skies like flies. "Great work troops! Now, infantry, secure the nearby uplinks in the EFEC base, take as many prisoners as you can." General BTR commanded. The uplinks fell in a mere 30 minutes, just as fast as the troops had done in the drills. They used the civil service transmitters to broadcast alerts over civlian TV and radio stations, warning citizens to stay indoors and to take shelter. "Sir! We have Enforcers coming from the southwest!" an intel officer warned; "Looks like infantry!" "Send the BMP-3s and BTR-112s!" BTR ordered. The Enforcers put up a hard fight but were swiftly routed from the area. "Alright, now let's get some reinforcements in." BTR said. Soon, a flight of Mi-55 Locusts flew in, accompanied by Ka-29s. They droped off more troops and vehicles as well as supplies. BTR assembled the forces outside the town hall and told them to prepare for the push into Germany. "We'll be celebrating May Day in Paris!"

Over the loud noise of the transports engines lieutenant Daniels went through the last pieces of intel that were being patched through - The enemy knew they were here, and they were determined in their every action.

A gulf of passed times went through the lieutenants mind, remebering the start of this entire god-forsaken war.

The news had been running low that day, the morning talked about disturbances in the middle-east with tensions rising between Saudi-arabia and Iran. Then at the end of the day the news after the communication black-out came - the missile shields went active after the Saudies and Iranians had nuked eachother; and in the proces taking the entire middle-east and all it's oil with it.

He rememberd how everyone speculated who started and what would happen now, the stock exchange though, already knew what would happen ...

Oil prices would spike and nations would be send into disorder, and thus mankind would take up the call for arms to secure what would be "rightfully" theirs

It had been a long time ago for the lieutenant, he recalled NATO disbanded and the EFEC becoming it's own super-power. He remeberd the quest for control of space, weapons technology and survailance. He knew their newly formed "empire", which was still a conglomeration of nations, to be melded together in the furnace of war.

And that time had come now, besieged from all sides they truly became Europeans and not Germans, Dutch,French or Italians.

All of a sudden the comm channels went live again, warning lights acting up and active countermeasures being activated.
The russian bear was here, awoken from his hiberantion with a really bad temper.
Daniels awoke from the his recap of history, ordering his platoon where to go; they were to secure electormagnetic dominance here as orderd by general Bancole. If they would be there in time ,and get it up and running, Rammstein could send air support and the vital "veins" leading to Paris and thereby increasing the resistance against this growing embolism.

Once again he repeated his orders over the comm links and made minor adjustments as the survaillance drones had spotted enemy tanks moving through the nearby town. Only 3 minutes until they were to reach the uplink codenamed "Lima Thunder", the name being derrived from the thunder their bombers would bring.

The uplink came in sight and before the lieutenant knew it the ramp went down, and like trained, his Haywire platoon disembarked and would secure the annihaltion of this russian bear.

They would hold Lima Thunder at all cost, and by doing so would prove Europa was no longer the Americans little brother, but rather the old empire reincarnated in the new one.

It had been a week since Lavans graduation. And it seemed as if his graduation has been a queue of some sort. Over the last week, since Lavans graduation over 500 000 recruits have become privates and recruitment has increased by 15%. Tank and Artillery production has increased 25%. Gunship production has increased 13%. There were more statistics but Lan couldn't remember then at the moment. However something Lan could remember was the treatment of Russians. Any Russian who wasn't at least 3rd generation was immediately sent to a ghetto. It wasn't as bad as Palestine or WWII ghettos, but it was fairly over packed. However all the "prisoners" were fed well and given 3 meals a day. The leaders of the EUC were powerful and angry, but they weren't maniacal. There had been some human right violations though. There have been over 200 documented Russian beating in the last 2 weeks. Most people were sure there were more but the state controlled media seemed to cover that up. Many people thought that the treatment of the Russians was used a tool to provoke the Russians into attacking the EUC. This way the EUC would be seen as taking a defensive measure against an invading nation and would have the rest of the world community by its side. However there were some other rumours. One was of the EF's need to enter war. The entire world community has seen the EUC as a simple coalition until now. Not a true single entity., and even though everyone considered it a military and economical power most people still put it below the USA and Russia. Which by all means was an incorrect assumption. Going to war with the weakened Russian forces would give the EF the support of the global community and the chance at domination that it so desperately needed.

Lavan stood in front of the mirror in his bunker. His hair covered parts of his face and was very flat, it was a deep brown. His eyes were bright blue and rather large. Lavan was naturally skinny but since his recruitment into the army he had grown some muscles. So his arms seemed to be slightly large and un proportioned to the rest of his body, after all the army uniform was a little baggy and failed to expose the rest of his body. Lavan quickly put his dog tag around his neck. Lavan Kratos, Private. Lavan had always hated the last name Kratos. Though it did suite him well. Kratos was the son of Zeus. Doomed to follow the orders of Zeus without question or doubt, forced to live life without friendship or happiness. Lavan often wished that his last name was not an omen for what was to come, but up to this point in his life Kratos seemed like the perfect definition for Lavan.

July 15 2020 - 2 days later - 3:30am

The siren had rung 3 hours ago. Things seemed to have happened to quickly. One moment Lavan had been in bed, waiting for something to happen, just like he had been waiting for the last week and half. Then the siren rang and his CO ran into the room and ordered Lavan and the rest of his unit to get ready for combat. Within 10 minutes everyone was ready and loading onto the transports. They moved out less then a minute later and before Lan knew it they were driving through the country, headed straight to Poland, from Germany. apparently the Russians made a midnight attack on the uplink centre of Poland. This is what the EF had been waiting for. It was no coincidence that there was no opposition on the EF border or even in Poland. All the troops were moved back to different bases and have been combat ready for hours before the attack. After the Russians took Poland the entire world community was against Russia. The war against the JSF was enough, more violence could seriously disturb the rest of the world. Arms, funds, personnel, you name it. All of the EF's allies were pitching in. Many countries were starting to call this world war 3, until now it was only called the 2nd cold war.

Lan checked his assault rifle. It was cleaned loaded and the safety trigger was pressed. He sat in a transport with about 7 other people. The look on most peoples face wasn't sorrow or fear as Lan had initially expected. It was more of a anxious feeling, butterflies so to speak. The convoy was one of 4 moving to Poland from Germany, there was 2 more coming from Paris, and one coming from Italy. Each convoy consisted of 8 transports, 6 tanks (3 on each side of the convoy), an artillery unit in the back and a gunship unit over head. There were 8 units of riflemen and 2 engineer units. There were many more convoys underway, but most of those were composed of mainly tanks and gunship. Lan felt the calm before the storm. It was ominous, scary in fact. Though it didn't break it, Lan certainly felt on edge. Suddenly the man in front of him looked up. His face was young and he had his helmet on. He was wearing the same standard army uniform everyone was wearing. The only part of his face that was really recognizable was his forehead. There was a long dash across it. A fresh wound, less then 3 days old. His dog tag was barely readable under the dim orange light in the transport. It read Isaac Xavier. Isaac broke the silence.

"What do you think the Russians are doing in Poland?" Isaac exclaimed in a worried, shrill voice. "Why would they attack us!?"

Lavan sighed and responded in a more crisp tone of voice. "They're probably just responding to all the hostility against Russians in Europe. Tens of thousands have been sent to the ghettos. My guess if they will try to take Poland, keep it then exchange it for all the Russian prisoners. After all its not that easy to control a country with so many people in it who hate you and your guts". Lavan actually reassured himself about this entire situation.

Isaac looked back down at his feet and mumbled something. Just loud enough so that only Lan could truly hear what he was saying. "What of they win?"

Lan quickly considered his options, then in a calm quite voice he said "I don't know". Loud enough to that everyone could hear because it evident that everyone is the transport was listening to their little conversation

July 15 2020 - 5:30am

Lan and his convoy arrived in the uplink centre of Poland around 5:30am. They werent the first to arrive but they were quickly told to exit the vehicles and move around the edge of the city and flank the enemy position at uplink Zulu. There wasnt much there. A simply Artillary unit and 2 riflemen unis. However the entire convoy had been told that these troops were Spetsnaz and that they would only be holding the line for a couple more hours before the Enforcer Corps arrived. They only had to secure Sierra, Zulu and Lima. They outnumbered the enemy 2 to 1 but most of thier troops were fresh privates. So the odds were slighty in favour of the Russians.

Explosions and gunfire could be hear and seen all round the city. Lans unit had stopped in a building when they saw a Spetsnaz riflemen and engineer unit moving towards their part of the city. The Spetsnaz were quick. Not as quick as the enforcers but they certainly were not slow. They also packed a real punch. Lan had been ordered to a window. When the Sergeant yelled fire, we were expected to take out as many Spetsnaz as possible. The Russians were a mere 20 meters from the building when the fire command was ordered. Lan fired his assault rifle. He wasn't to sure who he hit but at least 7 or 8 Spetsnaz fell and the rest turned and head for the nearest building was wasn't occupied by EF troops. It happened to be a large warehouse type structure. Suddenly the Sergeant yelled "****, those bastards are going to call for one of 3 things. An artillery strike, gunships or an air strike. Everyone move out. Tim and the Lan, move your squads to those high rise buildings. Johnny and I will move to behind the enemy warehouse. Make sure those Spetsnaz dont fire down on us, otherwise it on your heads! Now move out" Lan understood all to well. He had to move to that 5 story building right across from the warehouse. There was more then enough building to provide cover. Same thins goes for the sarge. Except he had to cross the road and he to move into the warehouse. What Lan didn't understand was why they could just call in for an air strike, or at least some artillery fire.

Lan obediently led his squad through the 4 building that led to their objective point. They hadn't met much gunfire on the way, and he was in constant communication with Johnny and sarge. They seemed fine. They were waiting for us to take our position but were also covering for us. Lan entered the building and ordered his squad to get to the 5th story of the building. Tim would take the 3rd story. Lan immediately called sarge "Squad 1 leader, calling sqaud 3 leader. We have secured out position and ready to cover your advance". Almost immediately the sarge replied. "Roger that, advancing to position 2. Over and out". Lan immediately called Tim. "Tim the sarge is moving out, I suggest an open fire cover strategy. Cover the windows." Tim seemed to take his time before responding. "very well but make you cover the Spetsnaz on the top story and roof of the building. We cant see up there and if an engineer gets up there...". Understood, over and out."

Lan immediately called his squad to get ready. When the sarge and Johnny were half way across the street The Spetsnaz began to fire on their position. Almost instinctively Lan bag to shoot at the men in the top level of the warehouse. He hit 1, then 2. But they weren't head shots and didn't seem fatal, both times. The Spetsnaz shot a grenade into the room, it hit Rodriguez and then exploded. The sight was to hard to watch so lan quickly tuned his attention back to the Russians. Johnny and Sarge's squads were across the street. There had been one injury. A shot in the leg. Everyone else seemed fine though. The sarge opened the channel and stated that he was ready to infiltrate the enemy position when a trank shell immediately struck the warehouse. In 3 second the smoke cleared and the wall that separated Lan from the Russians was half gone. Immediately the squad began firing on the Russians. The Russians began running to the back of the building, but to thier dismay the sarge was waiting and the Spetsnaz put down their arms.

Lan immediately turned his head to see what had just saved them from having to face the Spetsnaz head on. It was the Enforcer Corps. A tank had shot onto the warehouse and kept moving., Apparently there was a tank unit, a transport unit and a riflemen unit right beside their position and that convoy had seem the gunfire and decided to make our lives easier. The sarge called the convoy and a transport came over. Took the 5 Spetsnaz and drove back to the main base. Lan immediately ran our of the building, so did everyone else. They all moved to the back of the building. There was only one building between them and Zulu. When they looked over all they saw was a Russian retreat. There was cheering all through the city and the Russians moved back to their last uplink, Alpha. After that the only thing that kept the Russians in Poland was their main base. But the battle wasn't over yet...

Sgt. Rodriguez took a right down another highly lit hall with white floors. it seemed like he had been walking forever. passing high ranking officers of the british SAS every now and then, and a few JSF officers. He had heard the british were working with the JSF secreatly, but he had no idea on the scale the two militarys were working together.

He stoped infront of a black oak door. he took a breathe and straightned his beret, making sure all the rinkles were out of his Class-A's. He knocked once and walked through.

all eyes in the room turned towards the new comer. Nathan quickly saluted the 4 JSF generals and the two SAS. getting a quick salute back he was told to sit down. Nathan was amazed at what he saw. every person in that room were warriors. not some pencil pusher from washington, or from parlament. but real battle scarred warriors.

Gen Anderson spoke" son you been briefed on the mission correct."
Nathe responded "yes sir."
Gen Anderson got up and walked over to a map hanging on the wall,"good. so we can get past all the plesantries and get on with it. Delta are going to be the first forces to hit both the Russians and EF. Consider your self lucky. you Leading a 20 man team to this location" pointing to a spot on the map outside of paris." this is code named "new dawn". its a vital communication spot that both the EF want to keep, and the Russians want to capture. We have on good intel that a massive offensive from the Russians is about to occure. Now in response the EF has set a battalion to secure and hold New Dawn." walking back to the desk Anderson grabed a file and slid it across to Nathan, who fliped open the file. The EF military had very highly trained men, and from what he read about their C/O, Haywaire platoon was among the best.

ANderson spoke again," your job is to infaltrate and destroy this uplink. we dont want the russians getting an upper hand, nor do we want this asset to stay in the posestion of the EF. Your work pre-nuclear iran has your team at the top of the list of people who can get it done."

Nathan closed the file. "sir permission to speak freely."
Anderson gave a curt nod.
"Sir you want us to go into the middle of a bee hive while a bear trys and gets their honey. With no back up and zero Evac. and destroy the uplink?"
Anderson smiled " in literal terms yes."
nathan scartched his eyebrow." so how are we gonna get in"

Every face around the table smiled. a stone faced English man stood up. " The names General Garside, and you my new young friend will be the first to ride in new V25 Hilt, varient of the american V-22 osprey. you will be halo droped 20 miles south of New dawn. were you will link up with a SAS team already in country. they will trasport you 2 miles out from AO, and then they will leave while you ruck it to target AO."
Anderson waited for the general to sit before he spoke,"as you know currently the British are neutral in this war, and as so they cant risk capture or exsposure. other then the transports the briths will not help in any other way. Any questions Sgt.?"
"no Sir."
"good, then you are dismissed." Nathan stood and saluted then left the room. the walk back to the barracks seemed much longer this time.

General Garside looked at Anderson, "do you think your boy is going to be able to pull this off. from the Classified report it says his primary mission in iran was a failure."
Anderson walked around his temporary office and lit a cuban cigaR." you know as well as i do know one knew the iranians would have two silos, nor that they were counting on some type of Spec op to take one down. That young man and his team barely made it to a safe distance before they nuked each other."

Nathan was rechecking his straps and guages on his chute and breathing assist gear for the 200th time. When he had briefed his men on the operation, it was clear what they thought. it was wrote all over their faces. Delta wasnt expected to live through this mission, they were just expected to get it done. The mood of the team waS apparent when they got on the aircraft that after noon, and even more so after the in-air refueling.

They were to split into two groups of 2, with two sub squads of 5. each would carry a satchel. they were to infiltrate the uplink after the fighting started between the russians and the EF, hopfully unseen. one team was to go to the comm center, and the other was to make it to data storage and sat uplink station located further in the building. they were to place the charges, and if able to get out before setting them. team 1 codename was "dirt diver" and team two "Sword".

Nathan was wasequipted with the new version of the saber sniper/assualt rifel. while the rest of the team had what ever weapon they prefered. "squad report in" nathan checked over the comms, "This is preacher, Dirt divers are go.", "this is mongoose, Sword is go". He checked the map on his wrist mounted pda, they were less then 25 miles from the drop point. He looked across to his friend Decan Carter, handle sign "mongoose" and second in command of sword squad. He tapped his chest, and Decan gave thumbs up. He taped his helmet and Decan gave a thumbs up. then he tugged on his chute straps and decan gave a thumbs up. Nathan broke across the comm "alright gentlmen, put you tray holders up and please finish all Alcoholic beverages, we are green lit for landing." the men stood up and checked the mans gear infront of them. The lead man gave a thumbs up to the lead man, and the bay door dropped. Looking out all Nathan could see was darkness. some were down their the Russians and the EF were palnning to attack each other. and if luck was on their side, not even notice some JSF spec ops blowing up their uplink. out the bacxk of the Hilt the JSF jumped...........

It had been almost a week since the fighting started, but for Captain Neve it felt much longer. He and the others had spent the past week at Ramstien learning the in and outs of the Cheetah but it seemed more like a bodge job than an actual training course. This fact was made worse due to the noise from the jets takeing off and landing almost constantly drowned out whoever was talking.

Eventually they we're deemed ready by the commander and they recieved orders to go to a small town about 30 miles south of the Polish uplink cluster, with wheels up in 30 minutes.

________________________________________________

As they neared the town his breath became uneven and heavy and beads of sweat gathered on his brow and he began to question why he was here once again. The radio crackled for a second and then the commander's voice replaced it. He told them that the European forces in the town were under heavy attack, of the three platoons or infantry and divison of light tanks sent there only around 30 men remained alive. They were hold up in a church in the center of the town and that the blue smoke indicated their position.

The commander was then replaced by one of the more experienced among them who was designated Chrome 1, who after telling everyone his plan of attacking the Russian forces from the east, which meant circling around the town far enough away they couldn't be seen, said "Ok boys, this is our first mission in the Enforcer Corps, lets do it right".
________________________________________________

After an extended flight around the town they we're finally in position to hit the Russians, Hard. The squadron was divided into 2, Chrome and Zircon. Chrome was to go in first and then Zircon would mop up anything left alive. Captain Neve who was designated Chrome 3 was given the flight plan to take him straight down the main road. As they approached he noticed several target, and when the order was given he fired two missiles, then a few seconds later two more.

The first struck the side of a Russian tank coming out of a side road, the missile blew a hole straight through it's side. The second hit several meters away from a car that several Russians were hiding behind. The third struck in the middle of a squad of Russians that was laying down suppressing fire on the church. The fourth struck a building sending debris flying across the road, some of which landed near a Russian squad. A voice came over the radio stating "they didn't even know what hit them", to which another replied "they must have thought we was friendlies or something".

Zircon followed up moments later when the Russians were in full retreat. The attack caused heavy casualties to the Russian force and only a few dozen of them could be seen retreating over the hills. As they set off the return to Ramstien, they flew over European reinforcements heading to the town to help reinforce it from further attacks. Many of the soilders could be seen cheering them on as they flew overhead which helped to calm the Captains nerves...Atleast for now.

ACT 1 - A day job ...

Lieutenants Daniels "Haywire" platoon was now moving towards the centre of the town were the uplink "Lima Thunder" stood firmly in the early morning light, unopposed and unclaimed it stoood their. It's previous "owners" were the 6th Mechanized battlegroup called the "Tots Kopf", they had been assigned to the back to prepare for the instance haywire could not hold the russians at bay, an unlikely event which did have to be taken into account.

It had been 15 minutes and the Russian tanks the drones had spotted earlier where holding their ground awaiting new order, the russians with all their trust in brute force could not meet the elegant art of deception the enforcer corps had, effectively meanig the enforcers could tap into the russian comms with them being unaware about it.

Then the radio's cme to life, sergeant Rijsdijks recon squad had intercepted the russian comms and were now moving back in their transports to the defensive perimitter formed around the uplink Lima Thunder. The lieutenant could cleary hear the "Steenkolen" english, as the cleary dutch accented english was called, and listend carefully what the sergeant had to say; "this is spook, picked up enemy chatter and have visual conformation. Moving to defensive perimeter, enemy units count as following: circa 2 tank platoons supported by infantry platoon and combat engineers, exact number of tanks is 7"
The thought quickly gatherd throught the Lieutenants head, he realised those tanks weren't going for his and platoon but for the uplink, in fact, they didn't even know they were there.

As "spook" squads tranporst rumbeld into the city's square the russian tanks were a mere 30 seconds away from drving into their own demise.
Everyone had taken their stations amidst the rubble preleminary bombardment from russian artillery. The transport detail attached to haywire were behind city hall and awaiting to spring the trap.

The first russian tank rumbeld through "Heinmann StraBe", daniels radio operator waved through him from the other side of the room. Holed up in the city hall daniels moved to his operator and asked what was so important when these russian were rumbling down the street; Sir, we have airsupport and they'll be here in T-minus 15 minutes - We wón't need those private, don't call them off though, these russians won't back down without fight.

In the mean time the first russian tank platoon or rather the remnants of it had moved onto the main street, the second platoon still holding back if spook squads count was right. The supporting infantry moved onto the square as well, they were vigilant, but with no cover soon the second platoon of tanks and engineers would be left to engage a counter assault if the ambush succeeded.

"All squads check in and situation rapport" as Lieutenant daniels was done giving the order all of his 4 squads reported in; This is Spook, lead tank is locked and reay to be terminated; Hellfire ready to ash tanks 2 and 3, as the heavilly Italian english came over the radio.
Then Lightning and Thunder sounded in after each other denouncing their MG's were set up and their sights trained on presumable enemy squad leaders.

Let them have is ; As soon as the order was given Haywire attacked as a whole, the lead tank exploded in a cloud of vaporised fuel and fireworks being produced by the ammo storage that took a direct hit. The other two tanks sufferd as same fate, the tank designated number 2 was ripped apart by hit which seemed to have penetrated it's hull, sending red hot fragments of steel into the squad standing besides it, incapacatating them both. The third tank was able to withstand the hit without bursting in a fiery ball of death, immobilised and it's main gun crippeld it was out of battle though. All that was left now were the soldiers, standing bewilderd at te scene that just took place; COMMAND PLATOON ENGAGE ENEMY INANTRY, FIRE AT WILL! lieutenant daniels screamed across his comm link, whuch in turn was redirected to his radio operator relaying the message to all of his men who were no engaging the infantry standing in the open.

One russian squad took direct action and scrambeld for cover as soon as the first tank had blown up. In the process they were trying to drag their still living comrades next to the second tank into cover, a noble thing respected by the enforcers Haywire platoon.

The lieutenant saw hellfire was in no position to do any direct damage in their current position and order them to relocate. The in the corner of is left eye his HUD flared a red signal indicating attempts over enemy outgoing radio transmissions; SPOOK TAKE OUT THEIR RADIO OPERATOR, ON YOUR 2 O'clock. WHICH ONE SIR !! Rijsdijk screamed over the comms; The one beside the statue Rijsdijk, take him out before the others know exactly what is going on!!!
As soon as the lieutenants order came through he could see the images of sergeant Rijsdijks combat-cam shake heavily as he sprinted to other sides of the building, ending near a broken window; In the following sequence he could see Rijsdijks 20mm semi-automatic Rifle, which was somewhat of an overkill against just every infantryman open fire. Daniels could hear the shot resound after he had already heard it over his still open channel, on the combat cam he saw the russian radio operator her right arm disolve into a mist of blood and fragments of broken bones, effectively taking her down.

The rest of the squads took carefull aim on the remaining russian troops, their automatic weapons firing as the the last half of the russian platoon were in cover and were now firing back; Lightning in Thunder kept the russians in check, but in turn couldn't even scratch the russians who were moving along the barricades which would eventually lead to Lima Thunder. Lighting and Thunder, grenades in, go now!!! Lighting and Thunder immeadeatly threw threw their conventional grenades in front of the advancing squad, thereby halting their russian counterparts. Then they proceeded with democharges tossed through the window, ladning in the bushes disabling the russians to set them off prematurely
The russian now had to take a little de-tour, totally focussed on Lighting and Thunder they didn't notice Hellfire whom had moved from their cover on the first story of the north-east buidling to the first story of the building diagnolly across in the most Nothern part of the towns square, effectively giving them an open range of fire on the russian squads.
HELLFIRE, ARE YOU READY TO BRING THE METAL STORM ?; COPY LIEUTENTANT, ANTI-INFANTRY WARHEADS READY TO FIRE- range is set to 60 meters on range finders - copy. Daniels took a quick look on his HUD and confirmed the range finders conclusion. Then he knew the russian were doomed, these metal storm warheads would be set in the air, the explosion causing fragments of metal balls being blown across the area along with rubberballs to increase the effect, in turn immobilising and decreasing enemeies chanche of striking back.
Hellfire you are go, let them have it. Corporal Regtvoort and Sergeant Paparzzi fired their missile launchers - it seemed an eternity for both for the missiles to exit the tube, although the processing of the parameters took a mere second-. The fireballs left their tubes and sped towards their targets, their mini-computed warheads detonating when they were overhead- at least half the remaining russian men were hit and incapcitated -while those directly under the blast felt the true power of the shockwave and took the full power of the fragmentating pieces, leaving nothing more then men slammed against the ground, pinned by fragments that had pierced and tied them to the concrete.

Daniels calm voice now sounded over the radio: good job men, there will be more though. Watching the time appearing on his arm-piece combat-computer he saw the entire fight with the remnant tank platoon and infantry took them less then 7 minutes, it seemed more lik half an hour for him. Still the voices of his men celebrating this minor victory sounded over the radio, then sergeant first class Heller - the radio operator of the main transport - reported in; Sir, you still there ?
Roger that Chimera, wer sare still here and took no casualties. As soon as the channel was clear sergeant Rijsdijk reported in; sir Russian tanks have fired up their engines they are coming this way! I heard them Rijsdijk, enforcers ready up and lcok-and load; confirmation of his squad leaders sounded over the radio's, and Daniels knew that it would be a lot more difficult taking down the now alert Russian tanks and combat engineers. With the air support still 8 minutes short of being in range, he knew Haywire and Stormbringer would have to hold the square for that time being ...

A difficult task, but not impossible; not for the enforcers....

Nathan looked over the town with his M-24 reticle 8x30 481 binoculars. Him preacher and mongoose had just watched the EF's haywire platoon defend the little town from a Russian recon group. From what he could tell the EF hadnt suffered any major casualties, but the Russians didnt fare as well. He slipped the covers back over the lenses and the 3 figures crawled back down the little slope. they made their way a half a click east from the lookout point back to base camp. They came upon two soldiers in a varient of the EF BDU's, holding JSF weapons. they walked past and went over to a big tree. the rest of the team filed in.

"dang Nat, getting here was a whole lot easyer then it will be getting into that town," preacher snorted, "the town is a cake walked compared to the uplink." The 3 men relayed the events they just witness to the rest of the Delta members, and exactly how long it took them to do it. it was agreed upon that the teams would move at 2200 hourse. well under the cover of darkness.
Nathan pulled out a small map," the west side of town doesnt seem to be heavly guarded, and the russians seem to want to go with a head on assualt." he pointed to the map"well move in through this sewer system and get back topside at this entersection. well deploy the MUAV(mobil umaned areil vehcial) and proced to this building. once we get some real time intel well decide on further action." the teams noded and Nathan and Decan took over watch while the men caught some zzz, ate some food, or wrote their names in the soil like balderson and stuart were currently doing.

Decan clicked on the comm" nathan you think that BS you just spit is gonna fly?" nathan laughed"do we really look like EF soldiers with these special BDU's we have on?"
"i guess if we get rid of the JSF assualt rifles then maybe"

________________________________________________

It was 2100, the air was cool and the breeze was crisp. Their hadnt been a whole lot more action between the russians and enforcers the rest of the day. Delta had done the soldier prayer and was on their way to the west side of town. they made it in record time, but Nathan had told the men he want 30 min of no movement incase anyone happened to have been watching. 30 minutes past and no one fired, he took it as a good sign. he looked through his night vision equipted visor and read the time on his watch. he motioned for dirt diver squad to move up. the men moved across the cobble stone road and down an embankment. 4 minutes later Preacher appeared and motioned for them to move out. Nathan motioned and his men moved out.
He looked over at a small house on the outskirt is the town were a light just turned on in the top window. mongoose saw it to from the embankment."Ra we green to fire?" nathan held his position on the oposite side of the road. if they were spotted by an EF soldier, or they fired on one, their chances of surviving fell a hell of alot more. the air stung nathans lungs as he waited. the light switched off. The next thing he saw made his heart fall to his feet. Out came a young man, maybe 6 feet tall. clad in the EF armor/colors. he walked to the edge of the wall beside the house. looked around and walked back up the street.
Nathan booked it across the road, down the little hill and into the sewer hole the men had cut open. they had dodged one bullet, but he wasnt sure how many more they would.

________________________________________________

it took them 15 minutes to get to the intersection man hole. John Haze(the medic/tech expert) snaked a cam through the whole. he gave the all clear and he pushed up the grate. both squads were up, out, and the man hole covered in less then two minutes. the men moved to the building that had been marked as a waypoint earlyer by Nathan on their eye peices. Decan stoped long enough to set the drone up in the alley beside the house. Nathan gave dirtdivers the down stairs while Sword squad set up in the rooms upstairs. Nathan switched on the wrist pda and he got the nothing but pictures of rocks from the MUAV. he gave decan the thumbs up and the drone lifted into the air.

The drone made it all the way around the little town, Nathan switching between thermal, night vision modes. every enemy was painted along with intel on roadblocks or any other nasty surprise the EF had in the town for the russians. "set it in sleeper mode, well run a scan again before we move out."

The team spent the rest of the night moving through the town under darkenss. 2 hourse before dawn nathan gave the command for them to post up in an empty building that was least likely for the EF to take up a position in.
________________________________________________

they had been awake since the attack started early that morning. the Russians opened up on the town with artillery fire for about an hour before they sent in ground troops. they were determined that this wave wasnt gonna ened like the last. they had under estimated the abilites of Haywire platoon, and they were not about to make the same mistake again.

"SARGE!, another enforcer squad just went by. its getting to heated." came balderson's voice across the comm.
" get the drone out of sleeper mode D, and find me a way away from this fight."
"roger that". when the pda camera lit up Nathan thought he was about to **** hiself, "we got a RUSSIAN TANK COMING!" damn he thought to hiself, he was hoping the enforcer could keep the tanks at bay till night time so they could move again, guess they were about to put the EF BDU's they had on to the test.
Nathan quickly put waypoints on his pda and told the men to split up into their fire teams and move out. they wouldnt be able to all stay in one place again, for the fear that the russians could take them all out at one time. HE had underestimated the force of the russians, and HE was for dang sure not gonna let it happen again. the men moved out the back door and followed the way points nathan had set for each team, and their squad leaders had set for their fire teams. the russian tank was less then two houses down, Nathan broke across the comm"Dirt diver toss one of the satchels into the street on your way out, lets leave the russians a surprise." nathan figured if they fired at the russians then the EF wouldnt question them, but take them as other EF soldiers.

The big russian tank rumbled down the street, firing on houses farther up. sending splinters and smoke in the air, the next thing the tank was engulfed by a fire ball.

EDIT made my previous section seem less rushed Wink

"General! General! We are taking heavy casualties! Enforcers are counter attacking! The troops at the uplink center are taking 40% casualties! What do we do?!" a frantic voice said over the radio. BTR responded. "All units disengage! Repeat, fall back to rally point Whiskey!" He put down the radio. He could see Enforcers cheering on the UAV screen. "So, the little f****ers think they drove us out, eh? Ha! Just as intel thought they would!" BTR nearly laughed. He had a trick card up his sleeve: The FOAB; or "father of all bombs" It was a more powerful version of the American MOAB bomb. The uplink station was of no use to them now that the warning signals have been sent out. He watched on the holomap as his forces retreated from the town. Some units continued to trade shots for a while before heading back. A leutennant walked up to him, "Sir, talon6 says he is in position and requesting permission to drop the bomb." "Permission granted, lets show these fascists what the Spetsnaz can do!" BTR replied. After that, all forces are to move forward across the area."
General Vladimir Rankov, callsign BTR74, had plenty of forces, he had only sent in a small recon team to lure the Enforcers in to the trap.
The Tu160 cruised above, its precious cargo taking up the entire bomb bay. "We are at waypoint Foxtrot, prepare to release ordinance over." The pilot reported to the other crewmates. "Bombs away, hehe, suck on this fascists!"
The massive bomb slowly, but steadily, fell to the ground and erupted in a massive fireball that stretched nearly a mile around. Many observers would have mistaken it for a nuke. When the smoke and dust cleared, all that was left in the blast zone was charred rubble. The Enforcers, terrified by the attack, retreated and dissappeared into the countryside. EF troops that couldn't escape continued to fight fiercely, but Rankov would leave the clean up task forceto that. The division rolled foreward, the path to the center of the town was clear. Russian aircraft flew in behind them and regular Russian Army forces moved in to sucure the are. General "BTR" Rankov didnt get too confident though, the Euros had inflicted heavy casualties on them, and surely had many nasty surprises waiting for him. He sighed and pushed these thoughts aside, "Alright people, more SGB divisions are en route to our location, so we cant move too far into EF territory. Our next target is one of the concentration camps in which the Euro-fascists are keeping our citizens enslaved. The GRU reports that EF has highly skilled forces in the region, so keep your eyes peeled, and remember, do not under any circumstances abuse civilians or prisoners. That is all."

Moscow, Russian Federation

President Vsevelod Kapalkin yearned for a glass of vodka, but he wouldn't dare, or the liberal Russian media would tear him apart as a "drunkard". He was under alot of stress. He was just elected a few months ago and he is already facing World War Three. He hated war, but he had no choice. Now this would make or break him in public opinion. He would either be remembered as the brave hero who freed the political prisoners of Europe and saved the Motherland from attack form space, or he would be the fool who's greed started the most bloody war in the history of humankind and got him impeached and exiled. "Mr. President, General Rankov reports that his unit has broken through EF lines in Eastern Poland, he is now going to mount a rescue operation on a nearby internment camp before awaiting reinforcements." Kapalkin's secretary reported. "Good, we'll at least have something good to give to the media." He grumbled. Outside there were anti-war protesters. Maybe they would shut up if thier son was rotting in a European ghetto. Kapalkin thought angrily. His son was attending a University in Germany when the EF decided Russians were sub-human and should be detained. Vsevelod prayed to God that the EF wouldn't execute the 19 year old Ivan Kapalkin just to spite him...

It was nearing sunset, a balmy 0 degrees at the Kodiak Airbase. Captain Thomas stood by the V-22 Osprey code named "Night Wing". He had just come out of a briefing on there mission. His 10 men, along with another team of 10 men were to do a night insertions into Northern Russia. There objective was a General by the name of Yuri Krancoff. The Russians had launched a massive offensive in Poland and Intel believes he may have been assisting in the planing of the operation. At first it seemed the Enforcers would be able to hold, but the Russian offensive is pounding them. Our job go in capture the general on an inspection of an naval base in the northern section of Russia. We would launch just after dark and meet up with a refueling sub in the arctic circle. Then proceed onto a landing point 20 miles from the base. If all goes well we could get some nice Intel for the blue boys.

The further away we get from 9/11, the closer we get to 9/10.
