Well when you were new, did you have enough money to buy veteran upgrades? No. Did the person playing for three months? yes. Now what prevented him from using said upgrades? Unit ranks. The game would not grow past the first week if you limited upgrade requirements. |

You still get money for loosing and even if people did get beaten repeatedly by better players, if there best units died they wouldn't care. The effect of Unit Killing would be reduced to that of a normal RTS game. http://www.hasthelargehadronco...oyedtheworldyet.com/

People are going to lose to better players whether there is unit killing or not. As it stands, the only thing keeping UKing in the game are upgrades, you kill their units so they can't use their upgrades. So why not get rid of upgrades and OMS. Make every unit stock with a secondary attack. That way the game is more about who is the better player with the better strategy than who has better upgrades. No more 'I lost cause he Blos'd and Airstriked all my units...Even my legendary units. This game sucks, to hell with ubisoft'. http://www.hasthelargehadronco...oyedtheworldyet.com/

I'd like to have them do away with the unit killing. I do like the penalty for not taking care of the units and having them retreat though. Instead of permanently killing them off, I'd like to see them unavailable for 24-48 hours, but not much longer.
The *big* change that I'd like to see the most is the ability to use and improve troops in MP with bots, co-op and private rounds, but at 25% of the rate you earn it in MP. Faster to earn xp in MP, but you aren't stuck doing so if willing to take longer but want to play co-op & private rooms. Yes, that means people will play that way looking for xp to improve units. That's fine. Everyone will have the ability to do so, at the slower rate, which is the equalizing factor, whether with friends or with bots. That way you can play the game, enjoy the upgrades, play a good bit with a purpose and go online without being completely outmatched when ready to do so. |

Personally I don't see a problem with UK as it is. Unit ranks and upgrades are pretty good as they are. If we keep trying to compromise with new players who want things easier, then we'll lose the spirit of EndWar. The game is supposed to be difficult to master!
I also like the prisoners of war idea. The biggest thing that taking POW should do is take up a space in the enemy commander's unit slot. Say you beat three tanks and take them POW. Now the commander can't evacuate the POW and he can't use those slots until the POW are freed somehow. He will only be able to use nine units until he can free the three tanks. |

They have that. Its called skirmish, and nobody plays skirmish. I would much rather just expand Double EX weekend to all days of the week. |

If anything I believe double XP weekends has hurt the game more than helped it. Yes you get your units ranked up faster and it's nice for people who can't play during the week. However I believe it's made some people careless with their units. "Oh I don't care it's double xp weekend I'll get it back in a couple of matches" so they do things they normally wouldn't OR "I think I'm going to be an ________ (insert name) today and kill anything and everything that's hostile that moves." This leads to games that aren't worth playing because people camp their supports such as EMP or Air Strikes and only use said supports to kill or finish off downed units instead of trying to win matches.
Every weekend since double XP has come out 1 of 2 things has happened. The servers have crashed for one reason or another so no one gets the experience because no one can play or my battalion comes out looking worse after the weekend than it did going in. With all of the recent problems I'd almost say do away with the double XP if it's going to keep me from playing when I get the biggest majority of time to put in games. I would like to see a separate XP system for unit killing. Kill enough with the same unit and it achieves special UK rank and abilities. The same could go for uplink captures and completing objectives, capture enough uplinks with the same infantry and they get a different special upgrade. (faster capturing, etc.) This would give unit killers and non-unit killers special ranking objectives. If you choose UK ranking/abilities, you shouldn't be able to get the other rewards. You would have to choose your style of play and specialize your battalion.

Everybody who is bitching about unit killing needs to suck it up. If others can take it without crying so can you. For me, people that complain about getting unit killed get unit killed more.

The game is called ENDWAR. You have 3 major super-powers going at it like there is no tomorrow, and people here cry and complain, expecting some sort of chivalry code from the 13th century. Well this is the 21st century mother ****ers, retreat or die. If you have a unit that is calling for EVAC, use common sense and defend it so it can escape off the map. |
