agreed, this might be one of the best ways to approach the issue. this could suit both sides of the fence the best.

So what happens if a Hardcore player goes into a casual lobby and PwnZ teh n00bz and they start crying? What if it was based off you Rank & play time as well as W/L ratio?

rank and w/l ratio would be a much better way of match making, but they cant even set the leaderboards to have the w/l ratio. but even then, some good players may not want to participate in unit killing, so to have both rooms would be nice, but we can't even get enough games in one damn room, could you imagine splitting the player base in half, we would never get games now that i think of it.

Not really, if I play my first 10 games and win them all I will have a 10:1 w/l ratio. Doesn't mean I'm ready to play the number 1 player though.

The moral idea sounds pretty cool and it's the best post on the subject I'v yet seen. (not read them all at this point)

also I agree gentry420 who posted this - "too many ideas from all of us, hardly anyone agrees, so WTF is ubi gonna care about our ideas anyways"

we need to find a way of unifying our ideas and only keeping the best bits... Suggestions on how we do that would be great!!

toasters got a point, if i'm playing one v, i enjoy getting the regular players mixed with the elite. now, if i go 10-1, i would not get the joy of coming up against a noob once in a while.

instead, i would get nuthin but the top 10 jsf or efec players game after game. which half of them might be on, so iwould be stuck waiting for like maybe 5 other players that are on and have the same ratio.

or, you could go into each game, evac right away,(after three minutes, just hide or something) then rack up losses to play a lower class player and unit kill them to death, which would immediately defeat the idea.

In a casual game UKing wouldn't count, so even if a hardcore player went in and started UKing no units would be lost...And so OnlyMeNoMas doesn't complain, you could put a limit on the ranks in casual games so units can't progress above Hardened. The only way to get Legendary units would be to play Hardcore matches.

And basing games of w/l ratio wouldn't work for the 1st reason...If anyone actually did the second one then they have serious issues.

I like the no units being promoted above hardened. But if you do a rank & w/l it wouldn't matter if you go 10:1, you would still be rank 1-5. So, if you're rank 12 w/ 10:1 ratio theres no way you'd face anyone under r10. but casual shouldn't be restricted by such methods because there is no UKing and promoting above hardened.

Just to let you now rank really means nothing.You get ranks when you buy upgrades so I think it shouldnt be based on ranks.Ive come across friends who are rank 12 and arent that good even against poor players.its could work with rank 1-6 together and 7-12/13

No it shouldn't be based off rank alone, which is why I say rank & w/l ratio. Hopefully gentry EW2 will not be released on the same day as gears of war 3.

If the option it's given it's going to be unit killing again as we have right now. Personally I dropped the game about a couple of months ago and I'm back in my clan of COD4

LOL this is war folks, this ain't Little Big Planet. Unit killing rules man, I love playing against a great player that kills units, it heightens the intensity of the game. There's more at stake knowing that if u dont keep ur head out of ur a:; ur gonna lose units. There should b punishments for people who leave while losing a unit and for people who leave after killing a unit. I dont like this morality thing cuz it sounds like it may make it hard to retaliate against some1 who just killed ur unit...

Unit killing should stay and be made easier.

-Fvck morality meters

-giving some indication to their tactics would be awesome, but would end up unrealistic and probably get botched up.

-Fix matchmaking

Ya do this or replace killing units with capturing them, they can then be rescued in a seperate game mode where you have to assualt a base

Why not make 2 different game modes on have the option in the map menu when were selecting 1v1 , 2v2,4v4. Have a unit killing option , if you choose it off youll get matched up with some one similiar that doesnt want to unit kill , if you want to then you get matched up with some one that unit kills. of course you need a risk reward type of system as well , so you could do somthing like Unit Kill matches gain you double xp.

Wait times would increase dramatically. You want to split the ten people that play strategy games into two groups? No.
