I like Slayer, as in the music they play. Just like many other bands, they're anti Christians (except one member is Roman Catholic). It's just music. And it's not about Christianity. That song is called Jihad for a reason. It's what happened on 9/11 from the terrorist;s point of view. I can understand 'em pretty clearly.

Basically the crap that I hear from rap.

It's just a song from an extremist point of view. Some people are using it as an excuse, but many are brainwashed into thinking that it is for Allah. I don't want to turn this into a political discussion. It's late, and I'll tell you one thing, I disagree to a great extent, after exams (one week), we'll talk.

I'd like to add that I'm a Catholic. I just like their music, sheesh.

By the way Myke, if you listen to the right rap songs, it's not about that shiz. Alot of it is about there hardships, and what it is really like in the projects.

It's by far much more decent than that crap in the form of music.

Maybe for this band, but not every hardcore band.

99% of the bands I listen to are hardcore, you can't understand the words unless you've already memorized the lyrics, but the bands I listen to definitely are not about this kind of message. Quite the opposite actually.

That's just one of the creepier bands out there. You can find those types of messages in many genres. Maybe not voiced with those words or to that extreme degree, but you can find messages like that in punk, rap, rock, ska, any genre you can think of.

People are generalizing a whole genre of music based on one song that isn't even that good.(Although it gets pretty good about half way through). I'm a big Slayer fan, if you want decent Slayer, listen to the first 6 albums. (From Show No Mercy to Seasons in the Abyss).

You cant just generalize rap either.

Most of the metal bands that put on a satanic image, just do so for publicity, to shock people and to get across anti-religious views. Many are even religious them selves. Thee guitarist from Decide (which means to kill a god)is a Christian, and the lead singer has an upside down cross branded into his forehead.

Also, the post above who said Slayer are 'creepy', there are much 'creepier' bands out there. Try listening to some Black Metal. But I agree, every genre of music holds extreme views, its just that metal gets the most stick about it.

Yes, there are lyrics, and yes, you can understand what they're screaming if you know the words. >_>

And just because they're screaming doesn't mean it's angry music. Sounds hateful, yeah, but a lot of these bands sing about everything that a typical band sings about. Girls, love, the good life, etc.

Give me a good classic rock song anyday. Zepplin, Hendrix, Foreigner, The Dead, The Doors, The Ramones, stuff like that.

Or you guys could listen to the in-game music and sounds.
