SteelEagleStan The russians that way would have major world population support! WOW that would really balance the odds since the US is teaming with Africa! Good scheme please further developments! Hum and what about Latin America as a fully independent bloc? Just a thought... Roll Eyes

If you read my first post, you'd also know that the US is allied with Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, etc.

And this isn't about balancing, buddy, it's about thinking of what might happen in the game's overal storyline. If I wanted balance, I'd make it USA+India and USA+Israel. But, no, since it's not about balance, I didn't. As for Latin America, well, the only issue is that I wanted to keep it to three expansions when I posted. But feel free to post your ideas.

Oh, and BEFORE you respond, read the whole topic.:P I can handle sarcasm, but sarcasm founded on not knowing the nuts and bolts of a situation is annoying.

World politics TENDS to be balanced. Besides most alliances are based on interesses. US and Africa hum nope. Africa as a much closer relation with Europe due to the policies of cooperation developed after the african nations gained independence. Guess you failed to see this. I also state that Latin america has the strenght to rise as a single bloc specialy after the FMI policies that created so much fertile ground for national leftism (with the brazilian and argentinian background anything is possible). yes the middle east has military been very sided by russian, but then again they might also rise as an fully independent bloc due to their oil reserves and investments oriented to buy and control the world economy. Countries/military blocks tend to maintain themselves the more independent possible and with the rise of the asian emerging powers (emerging as single powers as well) most of the alliances you created are possible, but only if considering stuff like they are nowdays, not 30 something years in the future! (and mark these words India in the long run is going to surpass China. why? the choosen the hard path!!!) If you disagree please tell me in wich points I'll explain to you.

And I say this without reading the whole post again. Sarcasm? ... It's in the minimal entertaining having the Russians and Chinese by each side (who controls who) ... Now that's a neat sequel!!! (and I know the situation cause I'm related to diplomats, and believe me one learn a lot of stuff)...

Well, it's kind of hard to guess what alliances will be like in 30 years because...well it's 30 years from now. There really isn't any other choice than to make the alliances based on current events. Otherwise the best we can do is speculate.

1- The United States has already, without the potential of a major conflict with Europe and Russia, given tens of millions to the African Union. So, why wouldn't it make sense to give them even more support if they are engaged with the MEC and, soon, with the EF? It makes sense. So, before you claim that I "Failed to see" it, I guess I need to remind you that in this game, The EF will also be fighting the United States, who has aided many of their countries in their time of need. So, before we try to think of what is the epitome of realistic alliances in 13(Almost 12) years, remember that one of the powers would need to take quite a few steps.(Unrealistic steps, it could be argued)
2- Yeah, Latin America could be it's on bloc. But I chose not to. If you want to create a history for a Latin American sequel, feel free.
3- Yes, the Middle East *may* form by themselves with no support. Very true. However, in EndWar, Russia more or less is in ccontrol of the world economy because of the energy situation, not the Middle East. Besides, it's far more etertaining to have Middle Eastern countries getting supplied by a world superpower.

4- And yes, India>China. That's why in the storyline I created India alone while China has allies.

I still claim the Africans are more closer to Europe than to the US. And they are also very close to the countries of South America. So in a sequel that would be more probable. It's just not money that counts. The diplomatic ties count as well if not check on the EU-Africa Sumit taking place here. They creating bridges. Beside most of the trade due to geografic positioning is done in a north-south way rather than west-east (the ocean doesn't help). But hell, I always stated that the EU vs. US is the most irrealistic thing ever. So nothing that we both say is actually valid or invalid for the point beign.

I'm not going to write a story about latin america although you already wrote a (pretty neat) sequell. I don't want to write it, and the only one I want to read is the one sponsored by Ubisoft because they are no amateurs, they are professionals (climbing steadily to the top positions, in my opinion). They are the only ones I give credit (and I should, actually. Does anybody knows how much they invested so far???)...

And yes I agree it would be fun to see the middle east asking for some econ help for a change. But they could become massive egergy exporters if they get ahead with their plans to implement photovoltaic energy in their deserts.

China will need allies as long as she needs the resources, but let's not forget they are going to be a dictatorship for many more years, so in case they run out of resources they could always return to maoism-or-kim-yong-il-ism (the most brutal ditactorship form in the world), and by that solve their internal problems. If I could tell you the sacrifices Chinese people had done through out their history...hell you know that too.

Is this way I said rubish? I think that if we work togheter we could create a cool idea stock pile, hun? It's up to you..

Peace Stan

Peace, man.:P
The trouble may be that I'm having a little trouble reading your posts, so your first post sounded sarcastic.(Is it? You did have the eye roll.:P)

1- I'm not talking about the entire continent of Africa being on America's side, I'm talking about the alliance that is the African Union's military. Even in Union countries, you can say European popularity would make the war unpopular. But, in terms of the African Union's military, it is widely acknowledged to be tied closely to the United States.

2- In the game, Russia is the energy leader by a wide enough margin to give it's entire military a shot in the arm. It was so bad, that when they cut Europe off because of the Ukraine situation, they were forced to sue for peace. So, while the MEC isn't poor, it isn't even on the stature their countire are now.

3- In the idea I came up with, China's energy problem is short-lived. In fact, with the exception of Russia, thanks to their alliance the Chinese are well-off in that sector.

Now, I know you don't have the time to come up with a full-fledged idea, but any snippets?

Nah that's cool! Glad we can understand ourselves in spite of all cultural diferences. cultural diference: Here the roll eyes expression actually mean a profound honest doubt, a I-really-don't-know (that was what I meant)...

And what you said (explained): perfectly valid!!!

Hum just run out of more ideas, but I could add the looting of Antartida as something inevitable, as the search for scarse resources increases... Hum some little fight in the cold could be fun with all those melting blocs and stuff.

One thing I always had hoped for a few months back, was beach landings. Make it that overwelming dramatic D-Day sort of feel.
