There is a difference between losing to a vet with legendary's and losing to a vet with recruits. If he has recruits the new comer knows that he has a chance, at least their on even ground but if they come across someone with legendary's what chance do they have? Choppers are taking out his transports even if he's following the combat chain, which is what they learn in the campaign/manual. I would stop playing if I didn't have a chance to win the game and I don't want to have to lose a million times to get units good enough to compete with them. If a new comer is getting crushed by a vet with straight veteran units chances are he won't blame his loss on his skill level, he is going to say that if his tanks could take out choppers he could win too. Now he can't change this because his units do not last 5 seconds against theirs, how is he going to rank them up? He is probably going to leave and blame it on a poorly balanced game. Now if a new comer is getting crushed by someone with recruits he know that is because of his skill level. Something he can change. Its much easier to lose 10 games and find out what your doing wrong than to lose 100 games to get units up. Once they start winning they can keep their units alive and worry about ranking up and its pretty hard to figure out what your doing wrong when JSF blos tanks kill your gunships from across the map every game isn't it? |

astalano, never under estimate the power of a closed mind. there are too many ignorant people who want to demoralize fellow gamers and kill a community vs. trying to work through a problem. i'm going to have to be like rest eventually, and divorce my game

I'm sorry but that just doesn't happen, there has been one time in all my endwar experience that the combat chain came even close to being broken and that was when a russian tank with the DLC AA guns took out the shields and did slight damage to my euro gunships, tank still went down. If you pin 3-4 gunships against a transports and all fire secondaries then yes they would beat a transport, but that's true of any units and secondaries and no vet will be caught with 4 gunships on the field in the same place, EMP+transport bait. I rarely will have 2 gunships on the field and I'm a airborne battalion currently. |
||||

yup, it does take four gunships of high rank to take down one transport, and four high rank tanks to take down one gunship, it hardly defeats the combat chain just due to the amount of units fighting against one unit. why not just send in a tank etc...
point is, if you're stomping someone and you know the win is coming easy, don't tear the guy a new one, just have a little heart and let him crawl back to his hole on his knees. even if he tried to kill one of your units, but you didn't lose it, be the better person and don't kill back. it's never going to end, big deal, just try to remember the golden rule, it's a game, not real war. that's why we can play it all hours of the day, you want reality, go join the armed forces or reserves. |

Seconded. |

My recruit euro gunship lost to a russian tank once and it didn't even have the AA guns. No supports were used or anything either, I'm still baffled about it. ---------- I love how your arguments have ran out for unit killing being bad, I provide a reason why it is good and you just say I have a closed mind. Which is very ironic. Explain to me why a person would stay around if they lose every game they play because of someone having a straight legendary battalion? I would love to hear this. |

Explain to us why they would stay after their hardened tanks riflemen or transports that they worked so hard to rank up get pounded by artilery or airstrikes after they get downed. I'm going out on a limb and saying both would be a **** off but one moreso than the other. losing to someone with straight legendaries, 1/10 matches, max. losing your hardered unit so painstakingly ranked up= however much time invested in the unit+however much time need to get them to that level again. it took me 4 weeks to re rank up my CV to hardened once. or 36 battles after it got killed twice since first losing it. That sucks way more than losing 1 match to straight legendaries. never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake-Victory belongs to the most persevering-Take time to deliberate, but when time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in- One of the forefathers of the EF,Napoleon Bonaparte. |

The best feature of this game is the unit killing. I only get really excited by a game when it turns into a unit killing fight. There's finally something on the line, something to play really hard for.
Endwar without unit killing would be like poker with no betting - pointless. The only thing I could agree with is to make unit killing slightly harder. Possibly remove the ability for artillery to hit downed units or give them a little bit more shields when they're down so preemptive evacs are more effective. If Endwar 2 ever comes out and they completely remove unit killing, I'd definitely not buy it. |

I understand your point, I really do. I used to be very pro unit killing. And I still would be if there were lets say...100 thousand playing the game daily. Maybe 50-20 thousand. Then I would be going ape****. But the fact is there are but a thousand guys. The endwar community cannot stand to lose a few hundred guys, nevermind a thousand because you feel pumped up by killing some guys downed unit. never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake-Victory belongs to the most persevering-Take time to deliberate, but when time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in- One of the forefathers of the EF,Napoleon Bonaparte. |

1. You shouldn't become so attached to your units that you quit the game when they get killed.
2. It's a little stupid in the first place a unit can survive being shot at, let alone come back within a week from one squad to whole new platoon with the same experience, it's war people die, **** happens, deal with it, and if you're going to quit the game cause you can't face the harsh reality of war (I know it's a game but the general concept of battles is pretty much the same as modern day)then go ahead and quit. 3. If your units do get killed I wouldn't take it as the end of a unit that you devoted sweaty thumbs and hands to, I would take it as the start of something new, the main purpose of the game being, One WIN THE WAR! Two, rank up your units from amateurs to the best that you can make them, and Three, have fun doing the said purposes. I wouldn't cry about losing a legendary unit I would say, oh well, time to get another unit to legendary and fight the good fight in the process! YAY!!!!! Overall, unit killing is a realistic idea, you shouldn't be so attached to a unit that you get up and quit the game then go ahead and leave go outside and play, ride your bike to the library and read a book, the main purpose of the game isn't to be competitive it's to have fun like all other games, if you want competition then hook up with some friends and have a competition, but do keep in mind that if someone does kill your units their actions don't represent their entire faction, just because one guy is retarded in your point of view cause he killed your super awesome legendary riflemen doesn't mean the European Federation killed your units it means billybob back at his house did it and if you ever run into him again let him feel your vengeance! OOHRAH! |

Guess what? People grow attached to their units, deal with it. And when people get frustrated enough with their units being mercilessly killed, you know what they are going t odo? Just what you said, leave the game. That's one less person playing endwar, that means longer wait time, and that means more people leaving endwar because of unit killers and long wait times. Do you have a solution for that? Or do you just not care? Because this guy isn't here complaining about his units getting killed. He's complaining that unit killers are driving away people from this game and making wait times even longer. That's the issue, not unit killing. Come up with all the good reasons for unit killing, which I agree with actually, but there is one HUGE downside. Making a already tiny online community even smaller. That's only going to make Endwar worse overall. Sure, your faction "wins" but is that worth killing the game over? I agree with "Total war" but realize what total war does. It kills all your enemies. Eventually, there will be nobody left to fight... never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake-Victory belongs to the most persevering-Take time to deliberate, but when time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in- One of the forefathers of the EF,Napoleon Bonaparte. |

the main purpose of the game being, One WIN THE WAR,
how is anyone in control of tow, there are so many boosters, and people that play multiple accounts, the stats are always going to be swayed, compared to true one faction players. so winning the war, big deal anymore. it is all bout your battalion, and killing some noob aint gonna help any of us shorten wait times. and i think wait times are the base problem, which other factors add to the wait time, such as unit killing. i would rather play with noobs than wait for ever and a day. example, played two of the best jsf players with my buddy last night. they won the first round, no units killed. played the second game we won, i lost two legendary gunships in a nuke. it did not upset me to lose those units uner those circumstances. had they been killing intentionally, i'd a been outta there faster than a long tail cat in a room full of rockin chairs. went back for more even, with no intention of unit killing them, it was a nuke and i can accept that. however, they were the only two playing as a team, so we got 3 games in three hours, that is B.S. if the community was larger, i could of played 10 games in three hours. in short, unit killing weakens the player base, extends wait times, and makes what player base we have left quit playing, then what smart guys? |

if the community was bigger, i would unit kill everything in sight. i would unit kill your puppy. because if it were bigger A)more games could be played, less time waiting, more time playing=more rank ups. B) those who leave will be replaced by 5 more, no biggie. But... The community is small, on some maps only 300 games are played in a 24 hour span. i wont be responsible for driving off the 100 guys who each played three matches for the other faction. probbly less if you count boosters. never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake-Victory belongs to the most persevering-Take time to deliberate, but when time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in- One of the forefathers of the EF,Napoleon Bonaparte. |

.....because they can get them back in a couple games especially on double EX weekend, really it doesn't take that long.
So you want people to stop unit killing all together, meaning the only units killed would be by accidents, and you think there would only be a few people will a straight veteran battalion? Really?
How long do you think it takes? Really recruit to hardened does not take that much time. Again we have double ex weekends permanently, how much easier do you want it to be?
Ok 1) I don't know what the hell your doing with your command vehicle but mine only took maybe 10 matches to get from recruit to hardened. 2) Your not understanding the point... Of course it was worse than losing one match to straight legendary units, because you have upgraded units and upgrades and you all ready know what to do. Imagine if you lost every match to upgraded units when you didn't have any upgrades and didn't know what to do. |

Crappy euro laser drones
And i'm understanding the point just fine. there is a sticked tread, suggestions on how to improve endwar, and 1/5 posts i gather is someone saying how much they dislike jerks killing off their units that they work so hard to rank up. how unit killing sours their TOW experience. i know a few guys who have stopped playing due to EW/WMD or WMD/AS or guys who just airtilery strike their downed units or shoot down evac helicopters. people who do that are driving people out of our already small community. less people playind due to unit killers means longer wait times.so that means less people playing due to longer wait times and unit killers. i see your point about people with lengendary battalions, but what is worst in your opinion? A lot of moderately happy guys with a lot of high ranking units or a small group of ****ed off people with lower ranked units? if the online community was huge, fine, unit kill away. but it's not. all unit killers are doing is driving people to play other games, something endwar cannot afford. never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake-Victory belongs to the most persevering-Take time to deliberate, but when time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in- One of the forefathers of the EF,Napoleon Bonaparte. |

Heh I would take them over SGB bodyguards, can't even keep up with the slowest unit of the slowest faction without falling a mile behind. EMP proof though when they actually get there And I can put a CV in the front lines every battle, it takes forever to rank up, if you got it in 10 battles then you are a support spammer, no other way. |

really? the lazers have terrible, terrible range. the drones need to be under the heli's to shoot the heli's. never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake-Victory belongs to the most persevering-Take time to deliberate, but when time for action has arrived, stop thinking and go in- One of the forefathers of the EF,Napoleon Bonaparte. |

You can't stick them on anything to guard that's moving, they will end up lagging behind across half the map, and the range isn't all to great either, several times have had to order them to attack gunship attacking artillery they were guarding. JSF drones are without a doubt the best. |
