hey guys I finally bought a copy of this 4 days ago and am having fps issues. Here is my system

INtel E6750 2.66g
2 gig ddr2 800 mhz
8800 gts 640 mb
160 gig hd with 50% free
19" wide screen lcd 5ms @ 1440x900
I defragged the hd yesterday
DirectX 9.0c
win xp/sp2

I let it configure all video settings to reccomended settings.

When I start I am getting 100-200 fps constant. Then after I die and reload last saved game teh fps drops to 10 fps????????

If I exit the game, and restart the game it gives me 100-200 fps again, but when I die and reload the last saved the fps takes a total dump.

I play many steam based games like hl2, fortres forever, dod source etc I get over 100 fps in all games with reccommended setting usually all on high.

I just did a fresh re-install of dark messiah last night. I am really begining to get frustrated with this.

Can anyone help? I did read through that 3 page post that BlindNero posted which is why I tried most of these things alreay.

Does anyone have a clue as to what wrong for me here?

Yes, probably your older Steam contains some corrupted bits. Backup your Steam games and completely uninstall/reinstall (the latest version of) Steam. See DARK MESSIAH Installation and Troubleshooting Instructions[POST 4] error =3= .

(Btw: you're not specific which version you bought; if it's the DVD version, just keep it out of Steam and patch manually.)

I bough the dvd version, installed it, when steam saw it it loaded some stuff over it. After having these issues I uninstalled both the dvd version and the steam version. Then re-installed the steam version only.

Also I have downloaded the most up to date nvidia drivers as well.

What do you mean about steam files though?

But since you have the DVD version ( ), just uninstall both versions of the game completely, delete the mm key from registry, then reinstall the game and patch manually. Exactly following instructions in DARK MESSIAH Installation and Troubleshooting Instructions[POST 3] so that Steam will not touch it anymore.

im a noob when it comes to registry stuff how would I do this? Which one should I re-install the dvd one? Also will that affect the way it plays not having it attached to steam?

HOW you would do this is explained in the links i gave you. Or what part is unclear to you?

And as i said, uninstall both versions of the game. The Steam version, the Ubisoft version. All explained in the links i gave you.
