Some of you may be facing MP loading freeze randomly, which is particularly frustrating.
We'll release a steam update as soon as possible next week to alleviate that problem. It comes from the client timing out from the server during loading times. Before we release a fix for it, here is a few things that we have verified to alleviate that problem. 1) Try reducing to video settings to reduce loading times. 2) Defragment your DM MP steam cache (right click on DMMP in the steam browser, then properties, then local files) 2) Add a Cl_timeout 500 to your 'autoexec.cfg' in your steam directory. To change your configuration file in Multiplayer: Navigate to - [drive]:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[SteamUserName]\dark messiah might and magic multiplayer\cfg\ Inside the \cfg directory, you need to make a file called 'autoexec.cfg' This file will be executed every time you run the program. Make sure that the command - cl_timeout 500 is included in this file. NOTE - autoexec.cfg is just a textfile which you can edit with notepad, it just has the extension name changed to .cfg from .txt. If you can't see the file extensions, You may need to go to Tools->Folder Options->View-> and then un-check the box that says 'hide extensions for known file types'. I hope this helps. Romain |

Now I'm in but it is VERY VERY choppy, unplayable. its not my internet I am pinging the server at 30. and its not my computer because I can play Single player just fine... (very minor choppiness)

this is very disappointing that u guys at ubi released a game which multiplayer freezes frequently i thought u guys would of tested this ?
but still whats done is done but please hurry up with the patch |

could you give me the command for:
Texture to medium go to widescreen mode 1280:800 Set vertical sync off then i would be real happy  ps. it is because, my game keeps reseting the settings  |

how do you set the settings you can set to medium in single play to medium in multiplayer in the video option they are not there
and the loading screen still freezes at 3/4 the way to complete when i try to enter a server |

u guys at UBI i hope u hurry up with this patch u even figured out how to fix it yet ??? try to give us a date of how long we have to wait for MP to work because this is really irriating |

That happened to me with the Beta Romain, and I solved it with the First Option, Reducing Video Settings. If I put it even medium or nearly low, without putting ALL low, it got stopped. It's an odd time out then, since the player actually connects to the server and the server display him/her/it in the player list albeit not spawned.
This is the exact error I get:  The one towards the bottom net channel failing to do something. And then it says that the client connects and then some time passes and it says it connects again while the player is actually on the server. So would the fix be a reconnect? Or something better? Anyways can't wait. |

Tried the above, and on any map-reload (i.e. next map to be loaded) it freezes every time. Its not even slow to load! Atleast SP works for now i guess...altho i would like to play MP sometime!!! |

I had that freeze. Couldn't get on any map. Made that 'autoexec.cfg' and put texture medium and can play, maps load about 30 seconds.
