I got this game cos its alot like thief (Which I miss) and i was impressed when I first played it, problem I have is that after about 4 mins of playing on it becomes more and more choppy until its not worth playing. My pc is not bad really and should easily run it, i play other games - hl2, bf2 without a problem and ive tried lowering all the settings without any luck. I know alot of people are having similar problems. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Or at least are UBI gonna fix this game sometime in the future as its such a shame. My PC spec is - 2400 cpu - 1 gig memory - Saphire Radeon X800 - 300 gig hd

Seems like a memory leak or something. How big is your paging file?

Im a bit thick with pcs, plz tell how to check size?

I would NOT recommend tampering with it if you're a bit of a thickhead with computers, but anyways: right click on My Computer->Properties->Advanced->Performance Settings->Advanced->Virtual Memory

OK - total paging file for all drives (have 3 hds) 1536 MB , is that not good?

Try increasing it to around 3GB (3xxx MB), just to see if it helps.

Right, I tried that, but unfortunateley still same problem when I load level starts off running well and gradualy gets a very bad frame rate.

How old is your RAM? GPU? CPU?

It's a shame that this issue *still* hasn't been adressed.

Here on a machine that can play Crysis at 1920x1200 with most stuff at max settings, Dark Messiah is still broken.

The only fix I've found is to swich resolutions which helps a bit for 10 minutes or so.

Since every other piece of gaming software "just works", the obvious conclusion is that something's really wrong with the Dark Messiah engine.
