ok so i am new to all of this & well i cant believe how buggy this game is..anyway ive got a problem where the game just suddenly goes off and returns to the desktop with two errors the first one it says this
"failed to lock vertex buffer in CMeshDx8~!"

which is annoying..i have the latest drivers and im pretty sure i have all the requirements as i can get it working on full specs(though it dont last long) i really dont know what to do as ive tried it tiressly on 800*600 and 1024*768 and it makes no difference(altough it did get me past the prolouge after all the problems started occuring) i really have no idea what this is about and its wreaching my head..

the 2nd problem is that about 10 seconds after that last error this one pops up..it says something about an "mm.exe" error and has alot of writing that makes no sense to me lol]
ive read the installation post and i havent got steam on as i dont play multiplayer much on these sorts of games so it isnt anything to do with the two conflicting...

this has really got my head wrecked and i cant help but feel that my computer is just looking for an excuse just to dam well P*SS me off..
ive heard of two things that fix these issues the first is that someone said they were running it off 1 CPU(which i aint got a clue how i would go about doing this)

the second is that i should turn off a hardware acceleraor or something?...in my soundchip which i have no idea how to do...pleeese help me cos i wont be beaten by my damn computer not this time lol

Could you just try to behave, ok.

Besides your dxdiag, post your settings export as well. In this thread: DARK MESSIAH Installation and Troubleshooting Instructions, [POST 19] is explained how to.

GF6150LE is extremely basic, so be glad if the game will run at all, at lowest settings.

You have to do:
1. Enlarge and fix your paging file to 4096MB (at least)

2. Update your Realtek HD soundchip drivers

3. disable the hardware acceleration on your soundchip

4. Make sure you have installed patch 1.01 and 1.02

5. 800 x 600 is not supported by the game, so don't use it.

somethin weird with my computer though cos i do have a GF6150LE but i can run this game i have though the errors would come up...it even worked for oblivion...which doesnt support it...no idea how it does it but i was ripped off with this comp as i was meant to have a GF6800 lol

So DM and Oblivion run (at lowest settings), but with errors? The errors are expected. Even the GF 6200 is not fit for gaming, your model is the Light Edition of a smaller card. Those models are not meant for gaming PC's.

Btw: the 'buggyness' you say in your first post: Dark Messiah has NO bug whatsoever that prevents the game from running on any well configured and maintained PC that is within the system requirements and hardware-wise can be considered able to run the game normally.

Could you post your settings, i can try to edit them so the game might run.

Still too high yes.
Remove the -dxlevel 90 parameter you applied to the shortcut!

Then apply the settings i posted above: Open the .reg file you stored in My Documents, copy & paste the complete text to overwrite yours.

woah weird i did install the two patches...i have no idea why that doesnt show..i know ive done this becaus i have a new difficulty mode so it Must have worked but ill do what you jus asked and see if it works or not

one more thing though is i dont thnk i remember putting

The patches were not installed with the first settings export you posted; in your second settings export they show up yes.

Why are your settings again too high? Did you do that manually in Options?

So you didn't apply any parameter, that's fine then.

-Now apply the settings i posted.

-Reboot the PC (just for the sake of it).

-Try the game.
