hi,
i have a problem with dark messiah. 1. my steam language is in english 2. i downloaded dark messiah from steam and changed the language in the properties/language to german. the language file is in the steamapps folder but the problem is the game starts in english and not in german. i can only play dm if i set the language in steam to german. but if i do this, all my other games are starting to download the german language files. now my question is, how can i play dm in german without changeging the language to german in steam? thanx for your answers in advance  |

You should not have changed the Steam language to german. DM multiplayer will only run when Steam language is english. Change it back.

multiplayer i play in english.that´s not the problem. sorry i didn´t wrote it in my first post. i mean only the singleplayer i would like to play in german but i would like to keep steam in english.

I'm afraid that's impossible with the Steam version. Unless i'm very mistaken, you can't have Steam in english and game in german.

i can play it in german. but i have to do this.
1. start steam (english) 2. change in the registry the language from steam from englisch to german (steam is still in englisch after that. it will only change to german if i restart steam) 3. start singleplayer and the game is in german my steam is always set to englisch and i have only 3 games which i am playing in german. assassin's creed, dawn of war 2 and dark messiah. the first two games i can play without problem in german with steam language in englisch. i have changed only the language under the game properties to german. but the only game which i can't play like the others two in german whithout changes in the registry is dark messiah. and the quetion is why ^^ |

Probably a Steam problem?
Because in patch 1.01 (for the dvd version) readme:
Btw i'm usually only playing the dvd version 1.02. This happens both on my VistaUlt SP1 64-bit english and XP SP2 32-bit dutch: the launch menu of the game is english when installing, but after having played the game a few times changed itself to french! Every time i install the game on a fresh OS it starts in english but becomes french. thanx. but i have read it few days ago. the steam version did not have the reg file ^^
