Hello.

i have Dark Messiah Single player on steam. it was downlaoded and installed through steam.

i was happily playing all the way through the missions, i think chapter 7,

and i stopped for a few weeks. when i went back to continue my adventure, i encountered this error! it occured randomly,. sometimes on loading menu, sometimes when loading saved games..

i have tried the following solutions ( After reading the famous thread by BlindNero)
1. set page file to 4096 for min/max
2. changed registry settings of mm string ( edited with note pad and pasted the code BlindNero stated )

Weird, because this is your first post here and i never edited your settings (never even saw them).

1. You should update your ATI Catalyst drivers (yours are more than a year out of date).
2. Update your Creative Audigy drivers
3. enlarge and fix your paging file to 4096MB min and max (don't forget to hit the "Set" button!).
4. Update your Intel chipset drivers

To prevent Dark Messiah memory error just follow these instructions
This is only a fix for users with NERO. It is to remove the annoying Quicktime filters in NERO. You won't notice any change in NERO, don't worry! And no effects on your machines.

click on START
the click on RUN
type cmd
then type the two following lines in seperately.

regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\NeQTADec.ax"

regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\NeQTVDec.ax"

IMPORTANT: after the above, you will need to restart your PC and THEN try the game

This is for users with NERO. I hope this helps...
