dear friends from arkane, maybe i am a little overreacting but imagine : you just bought (and already paid for it !!) a new car and when you go to pick it up at the garage you notice that the steeringwheel is missing. when you explain your problem to the salesman he just says to you " i am aware of the problem sir, but in the meanwhile we deliver your car at your home and will get you the steeringwheel as soon as whe found one . i know comparing a new car with a videogame is maybe stupid, but when you sell something the least the customers expect that it is a finished and proper working product.
i know that it is not you that decides when to release but i am tired of waiting and want to play the game as soon as possible.
Smile

It would be a better analogy if the car being sold had to account for every single person's individual driving style and had to meet specific requirements depending of the type of driveway it would be parked in. I know that sounds ridiculous but that's why it isn't a valid analogy as software is notorious for being impossible to classify as bug free ever. And testing for any available situation and hardware configuration is also impossible. They can only try to be as representative of the market as possible, whether they did enough pre release testing, who knows? I certainly don't and neither does anyone else besides employees of Arkane.

Great news Marco,

I was just wondering if the patch will fix any blue screen errors at end of various chapters?

Also will it make it possible to run the game in highest settings?

All in all i cant wait to play DM singleplayer to its fullest! Big Grin

Good Job Clap

Fear
Half Life 2
Company Of Heroes
Oblivion
Battlefield 2
And a dozen more...

What do they have in common?

They've never once crashed on my PC. And before you say, well that's just me...If you were to frequent their respective forums at their time of release (as I did) you would see very few subject headings to do with crashing etc. Arkane probably did test the game...on one PC.

It wouldn't surprise me if their QA team are testing the same patch on the SAME PC.

They have absolutely no excuse what so ever for this bugged mess. There should be regulations against this sort of thing happening.

...

Oblivion had plenty of bugs and Battlefield 2 is/was infamous for them.

To the extent that the games were unplayable? Because that's what we are talking about.

Well in that case, theres Battlefield 2142. with all the random Punkbuster kicks from servers. Nobody could join any games without being kicked after 2 seconds by Punkbuster.
