Hey guys I just wanted to hear your opinions on this.

As HORRIBLY buggy and ill-fated the "classic" Prince of Persia 3D was, who else actually did have fun with it, regardless of...yeah. For me, it's mainly the nostalgia factor that still makes me like it. I recently found my old disk and started playing it again. It's gotta be one of the most tedious and frustrating games of all time, but still oddly enjoyable. It was an essential game of my childhood for me.

Any one agree? Disagree? Still hate it with a passion? Let me know, I'd love to hear!

I have only been able to see a walkthrough on youtube, but i´d love to play it too bad i dont have it.

Aww that sucks. You know you CAN buy it on Amazon for 9 bux. I'm REALLY suprised it's not abandonware yet. If it was, you could legally get it for free. Who on earth still owns rights to this game? I imagine its The Learning Company. If I remember correctly, the game was made by Red Orb Entertainment, which was a sister company of Brøderbund, which is also a sister to The Learning Company. Hmmmm Maybe Ubisoft owns the rights. In that case, it won't be abandonware any time soon I't seems that Ubi has bought out the entire Prince of Persia franchise, including 3D. That's just my guess.

PoP3D is one of the best games of all times (can't beat Legacy of Kain or Devil May Cry though)

I played it after I finished WW. I wasn't really that founded by the game ,mostly because I had problems with the controlls.

i like the music and like some parts of levels because of the look and even though it was bugged up it was still awesome if the y remade it i think it would do well
the story was good and had that classic

I have to say, I agree with you there on the re-make part. This, in my opinion, is the only PoP game that actually NEEDS a remake. Imagine...the same game with better graphics and gameplay! I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Well technically PoP 3D never did go Gold because Red Orb went Bankrupt during its production of the game.

Also if you want to play a game that was made by the same PoP Team that made POP 3D, then try Arabian Nights for the PC... Its worse than POP 3D, but it has the main character dressed up like POP 2: The Shadow and the Flame Prince. :lol

They went bankrupt?!?! Ok well that explains ALOT. I also didn't know Arabian Nights was for PC. I only heard of it on The Dreamcast. Worse that PoP 3d? I gotta check this out!

AHH! Ok I just looked it up.

Red Orb released PoP 3D for the Dreamcast under the name "Prince of Persia: Arabian Nights: but Red Orb also made an entirely differently game called just "Arabian Nights" I looked up screenshots of the PC Arabian nights and o my It looks kinda crappy but I still get a thrill out of old games.

Yep Red Orb Entertainment were having a lot of financial difficulties to complete PoP 3D as it was in works for a long time. That's why PoP 3D suffered so much. Some of the puzzles and ideas presented in the game real good, but due to lack of technology at the time the game suffered and the aurora of the Tomb Raider games at that time made it a 2nd thought for most gamers. Plus the deal with Voodoo and the 3dfx made game's public image suffer even more as 3dfx went down under after few months later.

As for Arabian Nights (ie. Learning Company), is an entirely its different game from the dreamcast port of PoP 3D.

It was a great game, in my opinion. Retained all the PoP-ness, something lost in the later SoT trilogy.

Traps, potions, awesome fighting, platforming, a certain mysticism to it, it was amazing!

I agree. I LOVED the potion that made you jump REALLY far! That was so fun. Do you want to be able to make 100 foot jumps in a 30 story library? I do!

i've played pop1 pop2 (snes), sands of time and warrior within (ps1). i really liked the pop series and purchased pop3d new from amazon for about 5.00 shipping included. along with the sands of time trilogy (sot, ww, t2t) and i want to play them all in order. i know pop1 and pop2 (ahem) don't have much of a story. but from watching the trailers from pop3d it looks like there was finally a turning in adding more of a storyline. so, are pop3d and sot stories intertwined? my question is should i play pop3d first to understand more of the story and character? or are they completely unrelated and pop3d have its own story?

i wanted to add that the pop3d amazon page has pop3d with ubisoft company on the cover of the software. so i'm hoping there's been patches added, updates or has been debugged. does anyone know if pop3d will work with gamepad?

Technically Sands of Time Trilogy (SoT, WW, T2T) are a prequel to Prince of Persia 1, 2: The Shadow and the Flame, and Prince of Persia 3D as it was stated when Sands of Time was released.

But this ideas was put away as you can play the Sands of Time Trilogy in SoT, WW, and T2T without even playing of the Classics. As there no obvious connection with PoP 3D at all. Although you can make a connection between PoP 3D or I should say Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame with the Sands of Time Trilogy. But I don't want to spoil anything in the Sands of Time Trilogy for you. Go and play the game and enjoy them for what they are as you are going to experience one of the finest ride ever.

Actually I played POP Sands of Time earlier today and it still holds up and it is still better than new PoP that was release last year.

I enjoyed PoP3D alot, regardless of PoP:NG. It had great fighting scenes, good story, the only problem was the glitches.
