Thank you all for the input. Rashti, its great to hear what others have to say about the Prince of Persia movie. Out of all the suggestions I think Oded Fehr from the Mummy would work really well...considering he is the guy with the tattoos on his face right? Black hair...helps the main character near the end of the movie? Anyway...I think he would work fine. There have been rumours going around that it could be computer animated...meaning we won't need live actors but still we will need good voices. I think they will go with live actors though.

Anyway, I have the main post updated, if you have anything else to add post here or PM me and i'll be sure to add it. Thank-you.

i think i could live with an animated version of the movie as long as the voices are middle eastern. the voices in the games didn't really work. and yes Oded Fehr was the guy with the heni on his checks who helped the main character in the mummy. i still think he is a little old to be the prince but he is the best answer that has been shot out so far. if i remember correctly he was in arabian nights too, that cbs movie that was so horible i dont think anyone watched it. they cut the stories so short but then there are a whole lot of stories in the arabian nights.

Jerry Bruckheimer to Develop Prince of Persia
Source: Variety March 4, 2004

Jerry Bruckheimer Films is in talks to acquire the feature film rights to best-selling video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The project is being earmarked as a feature film for Disney, says Variety. The deal includes a script being written by game creator Jordan Mechner. John August is executive producing and supervising Mechner on the script.

The game is set in medieval Persia, Earth's mightiest and most mysterious kingdom, where a king and his son defeat the powerful Maharajah and kidnap his daughter, looting his palace of priceless treasure, including an extravagant hourglass, and a mysterious dagger.

What the Prince does not realize, is that these two objects can turn their possessor into an immortal god, and give him control over time itself. Tricked by a dying Vizier bent on harnessing this terrible magic for himself, the Prince releases the sands of time, destroying a kingdom and turning its populace into ferocious demons. Only the Prince, the Vizier, and Princess Farah, the kidnapped daughter of the Maharajah, remain unchanged. Now, it is up to the young Prince of Persia to call upon every resource and ounce of courage he possesses to save his kingdom and redeem his fatal mistake.

Mechner says Bruckheimer's "Pirates of the Caribbean" was a touchstone for the adaptation. "Rather than do a straight beat-for-beat adaptation of the new videogame, we're taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story -- much as 'Pirates' did with the theme park ride."

Enjoy!

i'm sorry but it seems to me that some one says :"i'm getting mad if a white man play persian peaple".
hey what do you mean?
persians are not black. as far as i know persians related to Aryans. and they never have been black. i think you meen the color of hair maybe the black hair peaple are a lot in iran or other persians country but it doesn't mean persians are black we have blonde and brown hair peaple too. as you know in genetic it is more possible that black win. and another reason is the weather of this place is too hot. if you go out just for a while your skins become burned.

@Rashti, I would live with an animated movie also, they just need to get middle eastern voices...not being racist or any of that because I don't stand for that type of thing but if they are going to do it...they must do it right. I personally think Oded Fehr will still be a great actor...even if its just voice acting.

Thanks Azard for the input, unfortunatly I read it before but that don't mean its a bad thing, keeping all this information in one thread will be easy. Thanks again. (By the way, I liked your newest Lego-Prince video. It was simple but so...funny.)

Anyway, I'd like to point out that Jerry Brockheimer has made a lot of great movies in the past, one in particular is "The Rock" I own a copy of this movie and I must say that it is a great movie, I hope he does just a good of job (hopefully better) on "Sands of Time".

I won't acknowledge Shah_Ramtin's post because I'm not sure if it was meant to be racist or not. Thank you FCY for keeping things under control while I was gone. I'm going again now...in search of new movie news! Cool

I hate Johnny Depp and if he gets the role I will be extremely displeased. I do agree that he could do a good job portraying the humor & charm of the Prince, but I'm afraid that he would do too much of that and not enough of bringing out the deep, subtle agony that was threaded through the entire game.
Angelina Jolie is okay, though.
Although I doubt that he has any acting talent/potential, Bam Margera would make a freaking *hot* Prince.
I guess what I most would prefer is "unknowns" doing it.

I would say Johny Depp would be the perfect guy for the roll, I mean think about his performence in the Black pearl, it was simply great, then think about the prince, on the "fallen brdige" level, when hes like "I'll just ask the first sand creature I see "excuse me can you direct me to the baths please", and so on, theres no better guy out there to play him ,as for Farrah NO, Jollie is not the right choise, she would be the perfect choise for Kaileena, but not Farrah

I would kill for a nobel peace price

ohh i,m sorry. i didn't mean that. and of course i'm not racist. i just want western peaple show us what we are. for example in Alexander movie, Roxana - persian princess - is black. the actoress is beatifull, but persians are not like this. you know.
let me explain it in instace:
if we want to make a movie about The Mulan -chineese girl who save China- and we choose a non chineese girl. it's very unbelievable for chineese peaple to see their hero like this.

i'm sorry about everything Sad

Your post in itself was not racist, but it could have provoked others to create racist posts. That's why I intervened.
So don't worry about it Wink

@malaysheba, it is very much true that there will be a Prince of Persia movie in the near future. I can't wait.

@likeitsme, She does look a lot like Farah. malaysheba, people in the movie buisness can apply makeup, changer her hair style and much more to make her look like Farah even more. If she is a good actor then I think she would be a great Farah...or Kaileena...but considering this is a "Sands of Time" movie i'm going to go with Farah.

Edit: I updated the main post for those interested. Sorry I never mentioned it before. Thumbs Up

shah ramtin- i know that there are blondes and red heads that are persians. my cusin has a redish tint to her hair and my aunt is a blonde. the reason why they casted a black girl as the persian prince in alexander is because the casting directors don't have to give persian roles to persian actors or any other middle eastern acotr for that matter like they would for an asian or black or hispanic role. its a shame that the persian actors or the persian comunity here in u.s. don't get together and form actor union laws or something. i think that if a white actor is casted and can't pull of the persian look or persian voice relations between the u.s. and iran could be damaged a little and also the audience could be hurt. i like your example about the mulan movie but due to the actors union laws regarding asians the role would be given to the best asian actor. i see this movie the prince of persia as a way to show the true persian history. most of it has been destroyed throughout ages of war or regime changes. like the story of rustom was changed during the iran's islamic revolution because when the story was written the official religion was zorastrian and not islam. they did this thinking that the people of iran would go back to worshhip these "pagen" ideas. i think that the world it self need to learn that persia had its own culture and that persians were not like the arabs or babylonians or indians and that they were not as weak as the greeks put them.
likeitsme-i think ive seen that girl in one of the bollywood movies ive seen. i cant put a finger on it but she does kinda look like farah. but i agree with malaysheba she does look a little old to be farah.on the topic of farah what about the girl who was the princess in asoka? any of you guys seen that movie? its the best bollywood movie ive seen due to the great war scenes. i guess i like huge epic stories and movies. guess thats why i love prince of persia, the story in it is everything.
for everyone else in this lovely discussion, i think warner brothers should do this movie instead of disney. i think the begining should be this epic battle scene where the persians conquer and destroy the palace of the maharajah. if its a disney movie it wont be as epic. ever why there wasnt great fight scenes in pirates of the caribean? disney needs to keep the rep as a family movie. they can get away with all the verbal stuff but the actions are limited. warner brothers and disney both work with jerry bruckheimer films. something tells me though that the casting script hasn't been written yet. im trying to think how to get ahold of it or if i should write my own. there isnt a whole lot of info out there about this movie.
