i actually like johnny depp and think he'd bring out the witty quirkiness and charisma of the SOT prince (and despite people's opinion of his age, he CAN look younger, and he has before)... but we've had pages and pages and topics and topics of arguments about this. personally i think the most popular agreement for a prince has been depp in the past, but there's still differences in opinion. just no orlando bloom... he really ruined what ever "manly" factor he may have had, if any, in troy.

If I see Big-Lips playing any of the characters, I will prey that the movie fails. Get that weird woman off of PoP movie
Speaking of Prince's character, Johnny Depp ain't nothin special for the role either. I am against the whole movie thing anyway, mostly because this game to movie adaptation never really worked (Although I think that Resident Evil movies were good, but didn’t really have much of a story...then again what RE game does  ) and it mostly fails. I don't care if the man himself, Jordan, is writing it, it still doesn’t mean it will come out good on the big screen (with actors and everything). Remember, a game and a movie are two different things.If there should be a movie, I'll say do it in CG (like one big POP FMV). I dont know what you have against orlando, but I know what you mean with the role he played in Troy  .But have you seen the new movie with him?Kingdom of Heaven?Like he was in that movie he would be a good aktor for the prince(I think  )----------- Let not the sands of time get in your lunch. |

 Orlando Bloom's acting in "Kingdom of Heaven" wasn't that bad but nobody can tell me that the guy he played was the savior of Jerusalem. Neither he showed the will power nor was he convincing when commanding "his" troops while defencing Jerusalem. As far as his part in Troy is concerned, it's just as Homer wrote it down in his epic saga "Illias". Bloom isn't to blame for his role. Paris was a coward and he played him well. However, neither Bloom nor Depp should be casted as the Prince. --- The quickest way to a man's heart is proverbially through his stomach. But if you want to get into his brain, I recommend the eye socket. |

I think that Depp would be great as the prince, but although I like angelina, I don't think that she would be good as Farah, that role, as dom1999 said, should be given to an Indian girl, not Aishwarya rai in partocular.

@dom1999, I think Depp could bring out the Prince's quirkiness too, I liked the role he played in Pirates, If he can do the same for the Prince then I say go for it. Depp it is. As for Angelina...I don't think she would be a good Farah, maybe Aishwarya Rai (Whoever she is) Would be better. I hope they don't choose Orlando Bloom...I liked the role he played in Pirates also but...he just don't suit the Prince for some reason.

 but i though Jordan Mechner change Farah to Indian name. some indians were wondered that their princess doesn't have original indian name. i just want to respect indian peaple  i hope the movie will be made perfectly |

i dont think that depp or jolie would be good as prince or farah. angelina might be good for kaileena but not for farah. as for the prince i think a relitive unknown should play him,but still someone from hollywood

first of all i love johnny deep and see him as a great actor that i totally respect but how about an actual persian instead of johnny deep. i think they should look around for persian actors, because if it was the prince of mexico or the prince of asia or something like that then they would have to go get a mexican actor or asian actor due to union laws to the actors union. so i think the same should be done for the prince of persia. its like the movie the house of sand and fog where the main character was persain but played as an englishman. now if they cant find a persian actor who would want the part, i will gladly be the prince of persia. im sick of seeing roles for middle eastern people being casted by non-middle eastern actors. im a persian, i live in the state of illinois in the u.s., im an actor with experience in theatre and movies or a joke compared to theatre, i can do all my own stunts (all the rock climbing and pole swinging and rope climbing i do own my own, rock climbing is a hobby of mine and i am really good at it), plus i would be a fresh face and they wouldnt have to pay me as much so that would leave more money for the special effects. so no i dont think johnny deep should be the prince. and as for angelina, she isnt that great of an actor. they need to get a younger girl to play farah. how about going to bollywood and getting a girl from there. i mean farah is from india so it would only be right, right. i am so writing the production companies and telling about their mistakes. i hate it when movie companies ruin a good story. like troy, i waited 4 years of translating latin and greek waiting for that movie to come out because i loved the story and they butcher the story making it suck. i was so pissed. they can not do this to the prince of persia story. it is too good.

first of all i'd like to apologize for the lack of capitals in this post, i am at a friends house and their capslock button is broken, also i would like to thank the one who made the choice of making this a sticky. i will try my hardest to get the info you want into here.
@shah_ramtin, the actor must be indian or of indian descent...about the fact of changing the name...they can't do that. the name must remain farah...if they change it they will risk confusing many fans. @rajsoloman and rashti, an unknown actor would do...there is a lot of resting potential out there in hollywood if you know what i mean. unknown actors could include persian actors which i think would be better then depp also. we need persian actors for this movie...so...i think i should change the choices for the poll. rashti...maybe you should contact the company in charge of making this movie, if you think you are good enough to become the prince then i say go for it...i'm behind you 110%, as for angelina playing farah...i still think a persian actor would be better. i don't find angelina that good of an actor, a plus side to using an unknown acotr is that we get a great pop movie with fresh faces if they go will unknown actors of course...the thing is they must be good actors. rashti...i'll tell you again, if you think you are good enough for the prince then i say go for it. i'm sure we are all behind you. there's no harm in trying. |

I really like depp, he would do well for the prince, perhaps he will be casted as the prince, as for angelina jolie, she would do well but I think they should get someone that looks more indian like others have said. I wonder after the movie comes out if they will make like statues and action figures or replicas of weapons from the movie and/or game.

santarus- thanks for the support and all. i looked up the jerry bruckheimer films and couldn't find a contact address or an address to send in auditions. but i did learn from google that walt disney will be the production company (jbf is under disney) now i like pirates of the caribean and national treasure but disney has a way of ruining great stories by not puttin enough work into their films but then disney has a reputation for using unknown workers of actors and techies for low pay and working them like slaves. since disney is a major company i know for a fact that my theatre teacher would have the address. infact im thinking she will have the address for both places and then im a pulling an elijah wood and get some friends of mine and act out some scenes from sands of time. you know i was also thinking that the guy who played ishmail in house of sand and fog could play the prince. i forget his name but i remember hearing that he was the only persian in the movie. but yeah there is no harm in trying. i just think it would be funny though if there is a verbal fight scene in the movie and the prince is yelling in farsi and farah is yelling in indian and you have to read subtitles. lol. there is alot to play with in the prince of persia stories. the movie is going to be great, im just real picky on the little things because i want to make movies in a few years when im done with college (3-4 years) and i want everything to be perfect so that no one can say that movie was wrong with this or that. i kinda expect the pro's to do the same with their stuff. like look at the prince of persia games. how many threads are there with the players talking about all the arabic on the walls and the sword. i totally agree with all of it. ubisoft should not of put arabic on the sword and the prince should live in bah or tehran or some persian city not babylon. also isnt it time to make a movie better than the game. well peace everyone.
