What is anime?
Anime is, as defined by this article from theOtaku.com, "A new type/style of drama in Japan which uses fictional, 2-D characters instead of real people, and has many different genres (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Adventure, Comedy, Romance etc) and each Anime has is own suited, mostly not targeted age groups because of the varying elements of maturity within the different shows themselves."�

Replying Format

@Name:

When you write it in your window, it should look something like this:

[color:yellow][b]@Name[/b][/color]: 

Remember it. Use the reply method and copy the code from a previous post. I encourage the use of the format.

Common mistakes are leaving the : inside one or both of the tags. The colon is NOT bold and or colored. There is also a space after the colon.

Also, please try to use full sentences. It is hard to know what you are talking about when you type things like: "Yeah, I know." (especially if it was a page ago) So, instead of writing that vague sentence, write something like: "Yeah, I know it was stupid to give Kew control of the thread."
Or at least reference the topic. The only time when you are free to not use full sentences is when you reply to the person directly above you.

The usage of quote tags are allowed, but please refrain from using to many in one post, don't want any ladders/stairs going on. Though I have to admit, they are very useful if replying to a post from another page.


Spoiler Format

It's impossible to talk about an anime and not mention at least one spoiler. And since we don't want to spoil the animes for everyone else, we will have to use Spoiler Tags which this forum lacks
Since the forum is blue now, we have new (and more difficult) spoiler formats

Anime thread users should download the Firefox web browser, and use the Stylish plugin to make all posts have a dark blue background, here's Yolk's explanation on how to do this:

If you don't want to make the change, suit yourself, still only post all spoilers in green, reason? pink (or any other color) isn't much of a spoiler tag anyway, you could still read it, so just use all green now, as this works as a spoiler tag for those who did the change, and as a deterrent for everyone else.

Ok, so let me start the discussion here:
Hmm, well, last anime I saw was Wagaya no Oinari-Sama, funny enough, I watched it because of the GIF kew posted, and now it's one of my fav. , it has 24 episodes in total, and it's recommended for anyone wanting a good laugh

Rosario+Vampire Capu2 is also out, and is currently at the 3rd episode, pretty funny as well, but with more sexual references (many pantsu )

That's it for now, not watching anything at the moment other than the ongoing animes I'm following: Bleach, Naruto, Soul Eater, Gundam 00, Rosario+Vampire Capu2, and Detroit Metal City

@John: I was referring to the TTGL. I thought they came in 2 disc packs already? If this is part one of the series, there should be 13 episodes And they already released the two disc sets before like you said. This makes absolutely no sense from a production point of view

Going to pass on UNS till it comes down to $30 I think. It took me that long to finally buy Burnout and Criterion even is giving free DLC.

List updates aren't that bad really.

nope... part 1 only had 9 episodes. 5 on the first disc, 4 on the second disc. and there was 3 volumes before (6 discs), not 2 (4 discs). that's why it was only 9 per volume. i heard bandai released the first sets (subs only) to just get it out there... though kinda pointless when they were releasing the first volume (hybrid) in november. i thought they might wait longer. as i said before, just another way for bandai to get more of your money. anyway... i think i might donate my subs only volumes to the library after i got the whole set of the final releases.

Whoa there, my head is spinnin' now I think I'll just wait until the complete series to come out in a nice box set. And with the money I'll save, I can buy a figure of Yoko

Right now I'm watching Bleach, again. And I'm planning to watch Naruto too once I'm done ith Bleach. I don't know why but I feel like watching them again.

One thing though... why in God's name didn't you add Visions Of Escaflowne to the list?

Anyway I'm looking for the name of this Anime(I think) It was about this girl that's like a like an angel I believe. I don't know can't really remember. Anyway she kept killing a boy every time he did something that made her angry. I think it was incredably gory, but it had me laughing throughout the whole thing. Oh the intro song was also hilarious and it was sung while the girl was flying. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Woah I remember running into an episode of that anime ( I can't remember the name though ) and it seemed so bad that it actually made me remember how bad it was!
