well, it looks like Ubisoft is hard at work on another Prince of Persia title. Superannuation has uncovered a LinkedIn profile of Marc-Antoine senecal, a Ubisoft character modeler, who makes a direct reference to "working on a new Prince of Persia." The site also noticed that Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner recently filed for a trademark of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

yeah!!!!!!!! i heard about it too.... looks like ubisoft are not going to continue with last pop... may be they will start a new series or pick up where they left off with the sands of time series with jordan mechner coming on board .....i will be more than happy if they did so... i didn't like the last pop, BTW i don't even consider it as a pop game.

who said they won't continue with this one ? leaving the PoP 2008 story in mid air will throw some negative image on Ubi I guess, I want at least another game to finish the Prince and Elika story

That IS exciting! I'm going to hold out hope for a sequel, and until they announce something official (or something is leaked on Kotaku, as is the way), look forward to the wild speculation that follows this sort of thing.

I wouldn't mind a new series, but the SoT Series is finished. They should never continue it. It has a beginning and an ending. No question left. Perfect trilogy.

I hope it's going to be a sequel to PoP2008. But it should be more far more difficult than the last one and they should remove the lightseeds. The rest was fine.

No perfect trilogy for me I want them to bring it back ... if they want to brign back the sands they´ll have to bring back someone else ... AND DONT DARE TO NOT BRING HER BACK!!

The childish fangirlism presented on this thread is giving me a painful headache.

As long as they don’t touch the SOT series I’ll likely be fine with it. SOT trilogy may not have been perfect, but to add any more to it would take away from it’s glory, and feel like cheap pandering to the fans. There is no need for any epilogues, prequels or side stories. Let the SOT Trilogy retain its well earned honors as a classic series on the last Gen systems.

Again with the "my POP is bigger than yours?"People people,no matter how much you like it or hate it the fact remains-both WW and the new one are Prince of Persia games.

You dont know what happened years before ...

Personally I just assume that the 2008 prince is searching through lost and forgotten lands in search of Elika and her people. Mechner’s likely on board to provide some classic PoP direction to the new team and game. Considering all the good things I’ve seen with Assassin’s Creed 2, I’m figuring that a sequel to the 2008 Prince has a fairly good chance of being far superior to it’s predecessor.

Then again, it would be funny if the next game were called ‘Prince of Persia: Prodigy’ and then the final game in the series was ‘Forgotten Sands’.

Honestly, we don't need to know, somethings are more interesting when the mystery is maintained. Besides at this point it would just feel like a shameless use of SOT to boost sales.
