I agree. They should stick to the illustrative style.I have kinda grown to like it! Big Grin

loved it the first time I got my hands on the game

My opinion is as simple as it gets Indifferent
Continue with the same "Illustrative" style if the next POP is the sequel of the current plot. Change to a more realistic/believable style if they want to do another reset Indifferent

Anyway... I voted for the first option Smile

Be cool Wink

I love the art for PoP so I'd be pretty happy if it stayed about the same. Smile

Realistic and dark for the next game!
All of my friends instantly lost the interest in PoP after seeing those cartoon graphics and the clown prince.

Adding colors to a game that are not some variation of brown does not automatically make it cartoony. And it really is a shame that they lost interest before trying the game; what's that they say about "judging a book by it's cover?" Angry Blue Guy

I personally ADORED the visual style of this game and hope they continue it.

I keep disliking the anime/manga based theme Gypsy Shady
It can get sometimes nearly breathtaking but that's all, IMO it's doesnt transmit a more deep POP feeling to the game. I would like much more a realistic (Normal) graphics whith explendid light effects and really huge breathtaking vistas. The Scimitar/Anvil engine already provides all of that. It just needs a bit more of work Smile

@Erode
I share pratically the same idea as you. Just because it is an Engine which uses different types of cell-shading isn't cartoony. At least, a cartoon is much less detailed that the Prince of Persia design and grafical apresentation.

I think they are well suited for the type of ambient and relationship the devs want to establish beetween the Universe itself and the players, on the new series (POP:NG, POP:Epilogue and probably future sequels)

For me... A more realistic graphics are the better choice for a more mature and over the top Prince of Persia game, which is what I'm waiting for a really long time.

In my opinion of course Smile

I am in a total favour of illustrative art style. This unique approach is a huge achievement for POP Team. And Its not anime trust me. This Art-Style goes hand-in-hand of the theme of any Prince of Persia Game. I would love to see Sands Of Time, Warrior Within, Two Thrones and even the Original Ones. Smile

I dont think the artistic direction should be changed at all, neither think blood needs to be added, or not that much... I just think Ben Mattes and some of his dear members shouldnt be working on the sequel and ruining it more Shady

Well said. Thumbs Up

@Lester:The only one who can produce a POP game at its perfection is none other than Mechner.Mallat had his word,Mattes will probably stick to the end of the POP NG series,so after the end of POP NG saga it would be good for Ubi to hire Mechner again to produce an ultimate and final POP.

EDIT:The first ones could be done in a 2d Muramasa style. bow

I agree.

Or no, I don't.

Because if we're talking about a "sequel", then it seems logical that they continue with the illustrative-style and all other "style" established in the last game.

I don't like the way, Matthes and Team are doing things, so I'm rather indifferent about any sequel anyway.

But let's face it, UBIsoft doesn't care about old-time-fans, they only care about what is commercially most successful. Who knows if last PoP was really successful commercially?

I think they should drop the cell-shading in favour of some graphic style that truly makes maximum use of the next-gen consoles full power..

I think they should focus themselves in providing a good Plot with interesting characters instead of graphics.

Interesting gameplay would be welcome too Indifferent

I really don't give a damn about graphics anymore, nowadays everything looks pratically the same. I guess it's time to advance into new (and more deep) areas instead of trying to reach the ultimate technologic improvement.
