...this topic is rather dumb. It's basically a rant about 300 loosely associated to PoP Plus it's a 3 year old movie. Moooove on.

I didn't think all that deeply about 300 because it's not a deep movie. It's just stylish, flashy and overexaggerated. Analyzing the historic significance seems like a waste of time, like looking at Troy for a history lesson.

Having a Prince of Persia game with a non-magical enemy could be interesting though. *shrug*

So you are saying those giant elephants from 300 film didnt existed? (Just being sarcastic) I agree 100% with you, and I think both 300 and Troy are a blasfemy for the real history/myth respectively.

Anyway, a PoP game like that? maybe a little cool but it would finally suck. where would the platforming elements be left? Still, I wont discuss this any further since a game like that isnt being made so I think this is pointless right now.

I disagree. Of course it's not a movie about art but the graphic novel does have a message. It's simple, but it's there: preserve your cultural identity at all costs.

I agree though that the topic is dumb, because interpreting 300 as an American propaganda is simply dumb with capital letters. I mean, just look at the guys who made it: I'd not describe Frank Miller as a patriotic American after Sin City, and also look at the director, Zack Snyder: he made the movie adaptation of Watchmen, which is, well, really-really far from patriotism . Before that he made a zombie-movie, so these guys are not capable of the job if you wanna make a patriotic, "USA is the best, f*** Iran" movie.

ok guys i remember me watching Troy with Brand Pitt!!OMG hahahaha it was out of space... nothing compare to the real history of Greece...and i don't mean little things and details but basic stuff like the ending and the escape of Helen in the movie(WTF??)..anyway...though the good thing is that someone is trying to make a movie of the Greek history unlike us (the Greek people) who can't afford to make such expensive movies like this..

Huh-I was getting the impresion that they will make Brad(Achilies) gay.However something came up true-the escape of some people of Troy under the leadership of Enaeas(dont know how it spells-sorry).
PS-oh God how i hate Agamemnon.Thanks to him a beautifull country(Troy) was totaly wasted.

I know this is kinda off-topic, but Ive read both the Iliad and the Odissey twice one by myself and the other as an analytic lecture for an investigation...(that means I know what Im talking about) Really, If hollywood wishes to do epic films, they should at least read the ****ing myths first instead of reading a quick-resume (wikipedia perhaps?) and adding to it some modern stereotypes, seriously, thats why I hate most of hollywood movies, have you seen Apocalypto from mel gibson? do you think its cool and a nice historical movie? well, the truth is... that massacre is just an abomination such as troy because it had from real what it had of stupid, and thats a lot (do you think the spanish guys wouldve stood a chance against the savage mayans showed in the movie? And well, I think creating a game inspired on some crap which was inspired by historical or myth events would just suck as hard as the movies.

you know, it's nice to see people who AREN'T middle class christian white american actually speaking the facts. some people should get over it. it's just an interpretation of the view from the greeks at a time when war and imperialism were extremely popular as well as a way of life... i mean, the greeks were the ones who were gettin screwed over in this movie... which was actually the case in real history. they were trying to fight a hopeless battle from tyranny. that, in its essence, was the point of the film.

have you guys forgotten that the movie was in the point of view of a spartan. He tells the story to the large spartan army and you must remember that like any story things will be exaggerated hence the persaians were made into caricatures of their true selfs. I think it was a brilliant way to make the movie because it gives it that epic story feeling.

I personally thought while I disliked the movie, the plot fitted in the timeline where PoP could take aswel place.

True that SoT took place in a medival scenery, but WW and T2T prooved that it took more place in an ancient fantasy world with some eastern medival flair. Same as 300 or...GoW at some point, that's why I thought it would fit.

Besides that, BoPoP made me go....think about a similar situation 8D
