Plasmas in America are starting to come down, but I personally am more interested in LCD HDTVs. Lots of junker brands around; seeing a 42" HDTV for less than $1000 makes me incredibly suspicious and they look super choppy. Samsungs and Sonys are probably the best.... So shiny

Agreed. I have a decent catalogue of PS2 games that the lack of backwards compatibility on PS3 is a real sore point for me.

Speaking of Plasma TVs, I heard that those HD Plasma TVs are the next big thing, the liquid duration is extended and the quality is 4x the LCD!

plasma is supirior, pioneere and panosonic are kings of tv. But its point less to buy a tv right no, with oled and lazer tech comming out soon.

I think plasma TVs look better on bigger screens whereas LCD looks better on smaller screens

That sounds right to me, if I vaguely recall the research I did a couple months ago. I think it's also more affordable to get a giant plasma than a giant LCD. ..or maybe the opposite, I forget.

I saw a demo for it when I was in Dubai!! The light effect (Ambilight) is awesome!!!!

Our 42" plasma is a really good picture, and my 24" LCD is pretty good too
But they're a couple years old so TV technology might be more advanced now

I can post some pics if you like. It was good fun. I came home with a few FF soundtracks I can't find anywhere and some bags plus a shirt that's too big because they ran out of shirts my size on the second day. For shame! Some of us like to wear normal shirts and not baby doll tees thank you.
